Nippon Asia Inv +155%, Then Halted;Placement Update at 11 Sep 2006, 11:06 a.m.(HKT).

Nippon Asia Investments (0603.HK), which suspended fromtrading since November last year, has resumed trade this morning, but only for17 minutes, then halted again, pending announcement regarding "possibleplacement of shares." Stock soared 155% to 15.3 HK cents prior to recentsuspension with hefty HK$13.0 million worth of shares traded. In August, companyproposed to change name to "China Oil And Gas Group Limited," said it's focusingon natural gas business.

STOCK ALERT - HK-listed China Oil and Gas sharply higher on acquisition news




HONG KONG, Dec 29, 2006 (XFN-ASIA via COMTEX) -- China Oil and Gas Group Ltd was sharply higher after it said it has agreed to buy the entire stake in Vast China Group Ltd for 196.37 mln hkd, dealers said.

The stock was up 0.12 hkd or 36.36 pct at 0.45.

Vast China Group currently holds a 60 pct stake in Anhui China Oil Co, which has obtained approval to invest in, construct and operate a natural gas station in Maanshan, Anhui province.
