Beide Webseiten sehen sich sehr ähnlich, vom Design.

Wo war der CEO der Manas Petroleum in der Vergangenheit (in vergleichbare Position) tätig?

Ist bei den Unternehmen eigentlich Daimler Capital Partners, Geneva, beteiligt?

Weis jemand, wer das genau ist?

Das duerfte wohl die richtige Einschaetzung sein.

Erst im April 07 hat eine Express Systems Corporation (Erstellung von Opt-In-Mailinglisten..) im Rahmen eines Aktientauschs den eigentlichen "Eplorer" die schweizer DWM Petroleum AG übernommen und in Manas umbenannt.

War das nur, um einen Mantel mit US-Notierung zu erhalten? Jedenfalls wurde die Zahl der Aktien vor der Übernahme kräftigst erhöht (vermutlich Split und Stock-Dividende 1:1).
Meine Meinung: Das lässt den Kurs niedrig erscheinen..

Der Geschäftsbericht für Manas 2006 (endete 31.3.07)
"As a result of the above, there are concerns about the Company's ability to continue as a going concern."

Diese Aussage bezog sich allerdings auf die Zeit der Express Systems Corporation, noch bevor die seit November 06 geplante Übernahme der schweizer DWM im April zustande kam.

Die Schweizer DWM Petroleum AG hatte ebenfalls schon verschiedene Namen und einige Änderungseintragungen im schweizer Handelsregister, ich würde sie vom Klang her eher im Vermögensberatungsbranche denn im Explorationsgeschäft einstufen:

Ob das Unternehmen tatsächlich ergiebige Öl-Bohrlöcher findet und dann auch die Rechte daran erhält, kann ich nicht beurteilen. Jedenfalls kann ich keine lange Exlorationstradition im Unternehmen erkennen. Zufälle gibts immer und einige Ost-Erfahrene Strategen scheint das Unternehmen ja zumindest gefunden zu haben. Die Ideen sind vermutlich da (ich hätte auch welche..), ich befürchte nur, die brauchen ersteinmal etwas Kleingeld. Ich bin gespannt, ob hier bald die Pushs losgehen (so ein ehemaliger Opt-In-Adressammler als Mutter lässt sich vielleicht nutzen..) oder ob hier tatsächlich seriöse Arbeit gemacht wird.

Ich schließe mich übrigens der Meinung meiner zwei Vorredner zu 100% an. Ein Kauf käme für mich nicht in Betracht.

Independent Resource Evaluation Confirms Existence of Giant Oil and Gas Prospects on Manas Petroleum's Albanian Exploration Blocks

View Additional ProfilesBAAR, Switzerland, January 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Manas Petroleum Corporation (MNAP.OB) is pleased to announce the results of a Resource Evaluation prepared by Gustavson Associates LLC regarding Manas Petroleum's blocks A, B,D and E in Albania.

The Report considers the licenses 8 primary and recognized prospects identified from approximately 4,000 kilometers of seismic shot by AlbPetrol, Shell, and Coparex on the concession position.

Gustavson assigns 2.987 billion barrels with 3.014 trillion cubic feet of associated gas as the P50 prospective oil resources in its oil with associated gas case. Gustavson notes that because of the depth it is possible that the prospects will hold natural gas. In its oil with a gas cap case Gustavson calculates the prospective resources to total 1.4 billion barrels of light oil and 15 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. Gustavson estimates that in the event only gas is present the P50 prospective resource is 28 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.

Gustavson examined the Manas Albanian license position which consists of Blocks A, B, D & E with a total of approximately 780,000 gross acres located along the NW-SE trending fold belt of northwestern Albania. The plays include potential conventional exploration targets involving sub-thrust hydrocarbon accumulations in fractured carbonates. Gustavson's assessment is limited to the potential undiscovered oil and gas resources underlying the company's licenses.

The report notes that:

"The primary exploration targets are sub-thrust fractured carbonate reservoirs similar to those discovered in the 1990's in the Apennines of Italy. During the same time Shell and Coparex discovered a deep under-thrust structure within the blocks that, by their calculations, has the potential to contain a combined 820 million barrels (MMBO) recoverable of oil."

It states: "Manas has this opportunity because Shell and Coparex suspended all exploration activity and abandoned the blocks in reaction to the extreme unrest in Albania and the conflict in neighboring Kosovo allowing Manas to later acquire these superbly defined, giant, virtually drill ready prospects."

In the Gustavson reports closing statement in a discussion regarding the risks and probability of success Gustavson Associates states: "The probability of success for a wildcat well in a structurally complex area such as this is relatively high due to the fact that it is in a structurally favorable area, there exists a proven hydrocarbon source and analogous production exists only 20 to 30 kilometers away."

Manas is currently analyzing the Gustavson report and expects to release further details in approximately three weeks. The company is currently preparing a work program which consists of reprocessing seismic, seismic acquisition and processing to be followed by drilling.

Ein Kauf scheint noch zu früh. Man sollte aber ein gutes Auge auf diesen Wert haben.

Das Santos JV ist schon einmal sehr interressant. Das Gebiet, dass in einer politisch instabilen Zeit von den Big Playern wie Shell aufgegeben wurde ist aber mit fast 1Mrd bbl Oel gewaltig groß!

In drei Wochen wird Manas mehr dazu sagen. Da diesen Gebiet zu 100% Manas gehört (nicht 10% wie bei Energulf) ist hier gewaltiges Potenzial vorhanden.

Hi Terrorzicke!
Ist ein Wert mit viel Geduld (Die Explorationsprogramme dauern ihre Zeit) Allein die Drill in Kirgisien ist dieses Jahr erstmal interessant.

Es sind nur die Projekte auf der HP, die man auch wirklich exploriert. (Chile wird bald folgen)

Der groesste Block asu Chile und andere Projekte wie die Mongolei sind dort nicht aufgefuehrt.


Die 50 Mio USD, die man im Mai aufnehmen will, werden auch erstmal den Kurs ein wenig blockieren.


Gute Projekte...mal sehen wo der Kurs so in vier Jahren steht...

in Albanien wird vermutlich noch im zweiten Quartal 08 gebohrt, weitere Blöcke sind in Diskussion und Albanien wird wohl nicht per "Farm in" sondern komplett im Alleingang gemacht. Dafür sind die Daten in Albanien zu gut. Bestenfalls lässt sich über den Komplettverkauf von Albanien spekulieren....
Für Chile steht fest wer der Partner wird, es ist zwar noch nicht veröffentlicht, aber steht im Prinzip fest. Hier warten wir mal die Fakten ab, wenn ich eins und eins richtig zusammenzähle dann wird es dann sehr spannend.
Naja und die rund 50 Mio. USD kommen über die TSX, so zumindest der Plan.
Nachdem das Management der Manas deutlich aufgestockt wurde und das mit 1A-Personal, stellt sich eher die Frage woher nehm ich das Geld um mein Depot kräftig aufzustocken. Die Möglichkeiten mit dem aktuellen Debenture sind schon recht reizvoll.

Als fairer Marktwert stehen im Bericht 500 Mio USD bis 1500 Mio USD...150-200 Mio USD sind bei Drillstart Kirgisien durchaus realsitisch...

Der Kurs duerfte bis zum Start in Kirgisien noch ein wenig nachgeben, aber mit dem Beginn und dem Programm fuer 2009, sollte sich das Bild aendern.

Immer ein Auge auf diesen Wert haben. Energulf kann bei diesen Assest nicht mithalten

Bisher ist diese Aktie noch ohne Push. Wegen Albanien aber schon einmal bis 4 Euro hoch und heiss gelaufen, da kein Drill und damit keine Aussicht auf Erfolg vorhanden war...

Dies wird in 1-32 Monaten anders sein...

financing of up to $10 million, of which $2 million were committed on August 13, 2008 and a non-binding letter of intent was signed on July
30, 2008 with a group for over $4 million which would provide sufficient funds to finance our operations through to the planned financing as
well as execute our geological work in Albania until end of 2008. If we are not able to raise the required funds, we would consider farming-out
projects in order to reduce our financial commitments.
In order to continue to fund operations after the next six months and implement the growth strategy through the further acquisition of new

Hi lestro!
Der Kurs wird auf jeden Fall wieder anziehen und je naeher die grossen Projekte (Albanien) kommen, desto spannender wird es.
Rein steuerlich, so kurz vor dem Drillstart in Kirgisien und bei dem guesntigen Kurs, habe ich zumnindest angefangen die ersten Shares einzusammeln.
Die naechsten drei Jahre werden dann zeigen wohin die Reise geht...

Aber die kommende KE werden den Kurs bis Oktober stark beeinflussen. Ein Drillerflg waere also sehr wichtig, ansonsten geht es erstmal runter...

Na klar.
In Albanien ist man jetzt dabei eine 2D Seismic zu machen, die wird dann darueber entscheiuden, wo man zuerst bohren sollte. Dann wird man die Rig anschaffen, die Umgebung fuer Rig, Crew und alle andere vorbereiten. Dann wird man den Bohrstart bekannt geben...diesen Tag meine ich mit Drillstart...

Aber Kirgisien wird mit grosser Wahrscjeinlichkeit noch dieses Jahr gebohrt...was den Kurs - ohne PP - helfen sollte.

Am 01.10 faengt offiziell die Phase II fuer Kirgisien an. Da die zwei Monate, die fuer das Upgrade der Rig geplant waren, auch langsam vorueber sind, wird es jetzt spannend.
P50 liegen hier 1,2 Mrd bbl (Oil in place). ...

"Manas Operations Update - October 16th 2008

All of Manas’ operations are on track and progressing ahead of expectations.

Albania (100% Manas)
Our key project benefited substantially from the 190km 2D vibroseis seismic program which concludes today October 16th. The data produced by GII (Geophysical Institute of Israel) exceeded our expectations; identifying potentially new prospects in Block A and refining potential drill targets originally identified by Shell in Block B. In 2009 GII will record 140km of dynamite sourced data in Blocks D and E.

Manas has successfully applied for Blocks 2 and 3 which contain OXYs Sipragu oil discovery – the amended PSC (Production Sharing Contract) is initialized and awaits Ministerial approval and ratification later in 2008.

In order to secure a drill rig for a possible drilling campaign commencing in Q2 2009 on Blocks 2&3 Manas signed a Letter Of Intent with Croatia’s CROSCO and a Memorandum of Understanding with the Russian Company JSC “SPC” NEDRA, respectively. CROSCO drilled several deep wells in Albania, including OXYs discovery well on Blocks 2 and 3. JSC “SPC” NEDRA are deep drilling experts, recently completing an 8.2km gas producer in Siberia.

Kyrgyztsan (25% Manas)
Manas Farmin Partner Santos International Holdings Pty Ltd through its operating company SPC (JSC South Petroleum Company) will commence drilling two shallow targets in 2008. Mobilization of the rig to the North Ayzar prospect in Tuzluk Block is expected by November 15th with a spud date shortly thereafter. North Ayzar prospect is approximately 6 km from the producing Niazbek-Karachikum and Beshkent-Togap fields, respectively. SPC expects drilling of deep targets in the second and third quarter of 2009. Seismic acquisition in Kyrgyzstan is progressing as planned, at present in excess 500km of seismic are shot in all Blocks.

Tajikistan (90% Manas)
Acquisition of 114km of seismic is completed, fulfilling Santos’ financial requirement for the option farmin agreement. Progression of the option farmin agreement between DWM Petroleum AG (100% Manas owned) and Santos is awaiting Governmental ratification of legal amendments giving ‘exclusive right of first refusal to potential petroleum developments’.

Mongolia (74% Manas)
Blocks 13 and 14 are expected to be ratified within the next weeks. Manas geologists supported by experts from GII and the University of Novosibirsk have completed a highly successful phase I field work program defining structural trends with potential petroleum accumulations. Based on these results and previous data the company is currently designing a seismic acquisition program expected to commence in 2009.

Chile (20% Manas)
A Technical Steering Committee meeting between Manas, IPR, Pluspetrol and the dedicated operator Geopark is currently being held to finalize 2009 seismic and possible drilling activities in the Tranquillo Block.

Im Quartalbericht von Caspian Oil steht, dass die RIg erst im Dezember nach Tuzluk transportiert wird.
Es ist also noch ein wenig mehr Geduld gefragt...

Albanian Production Sharing Contract for Blocks 2 and 3 Approved - Baar, Switzerland, November 10th 2008


"Manas Petroleum Corp., a Baar, Switzerland based company, today announces its wholly owned subsidiary, DWM Petroleum AG, has signed a Production Sharing Contract (PSC) for Blocks 2 and 3 in Albania. The blocks cover approximately 3,400 km2 (approximately 850,000 acres). The Albanian government was represented by Mr. Genc Ruli the Minister of Economy, Trade and Energy and Manas & DWM by Chairman Heinz J. Scholz. Formal ratification of the PSC by Albania's council of ministers is expected in the near future.

Blocks 2 and 3 were explored by Occidental Petroleum and the Albanian National Petroleum Company “Albpetrol”. In December 2001 Occidental Petroleum’s Shpiragu-1 well (Block 2) was declared an oil discovery (TD= 5333 Meters; 17500 feet). Shpiragu-1 demonstrated the presence of Light 37-40 API gravity oil with 2.3% sulfur at average rate 400-1200 bpd oil and associated gas with minor CO2 and H2S with GOR between 2000-5000scf/bbl from the Eocene-Cretaceous carbonate subthrust sheet. The flow rates were achieved despite severe reservoir damage due to drilling mud invasion into the formation. The Shpiragu closure was initially mapped with an areal extent of 31.8 km2. Offset wells on the producing Cakran Field have penetrated a 600-700m thick reservoir sequence while from the outcrop the thickness of Ionian reservoir sequence (Eocene-Upper Triassic) can reach up to 2500-2800m. Out of 800-1000m thickness of the expected net pay in Shpiragu, only 400m of the Ionian reservoir was intersected in the Shpiragu-1 well. Typical recovery factors in similar reservoirs in Albania are 25%-35%.

During the drilling of Shpiragu the operator encountered some well stability problems and the use of additional casing strings forced a reduction of the drill string diameter. To plan for upcoming drilling Manas-DWM has contracted renowned consultants JRS Petroleum Research (Adelaide Australia) to analyze in-situ stress data in order to optimize the design and in particular the mud-system - wellbore stability for the planned drilling campaign. Manas plans to deviate the well trajectory in the reservoirs section in order to maximize intersection of open fracture sets.

As the existence of oil is proven, DWM intends appraising the Shpiragu reservoir by drilling an appraisal well in Phase I. Manas secured drill rigs for possible drilling campaigns in Q2 2009 by signing a Letter Of Intent with Croatia's Crosco and a Memorandum of Understanding with the Russian Company JSC "SPC" Nedra, respectively. Crosco drilled several deep wells in Albania, including Occidental Petroleums discovery well in Blocks 2 and 3. JSC "SPC" Nedra are deep drilling experts, recently completing an 8.2km gas producer in Siberia.

Blocks 2 and 3 require no further seismic acquisition, however, existing high resolution 2D seismic data suggests significant potential for additional structures which have been mapped by the Manas Albanian project team.

"Manas Petroleum Corporation announces both the results of report on the Economic Evaluation and a report on the revised volumetrics for Manas Petroleum's Albanian blocks A, B and D,E. Both reports provide independent evaluations prepared by Gustavson Associates LLC (Boulder, CO) and are effective as of November 1st 2008.

The revised volumetric report confirms an estimated 2.97 billion barrels (P50) resource potential in 8 prospects as analyzed in the first report published on January 10th, 2008. Additionally, the revised report describes an additional 9th prospect increasing the total resource estimate to 3.03 billion barrels (P50). The volumetric report is compliant with National Instrument 51-101 "Standards of Disclosure for Oil and Gas Activities" ("NI 51-101").

An economic model for the nine recognized prospects was built upon the most likely P50 resource estimates to calculate the Net Present Value 10 (NPV10) for three technical cases: (1) oil with associated gas, (2) oil with gas cap, and (3) gas with condensate. An oil price of $50/Bbl and in the gas case a conservative estimate of the gas price of $2.50/MCF was used.

The report considers three success cases: full success, a partial success and non commercial success scenario was evaluated for each of the three technical cases. The comprehensive report analyzed PSC and fiscal terms, regional infrastructure including a newly built terminal in the port of Durres, regional energy markets (around 100% growth in last 10 years) and possibilities to connect via the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) to the European Oil and Gas markets. Cost estimates were provided by contractors for drilling, pipeline construction and related infrastructure.

As a final economic result Gustavson calculates a NPV10 for a partial success of the oil case of $11.9 billion ($18.6 billion complete success), for the oil with gas cap of $6.3 billion ($9.7 billion complete success) and for the gas case of $6.1 billion ($10.8 billion complete success). The capital expenditures in the total failure scenario are calculated as $67 million.

Gustavson estimates the oil and gas rates for each of the prospects based on flow rates from the nearby Cacran field and the Occidental Spiragu-1 well test rates in Block 2 (Block 2 is adjacent to block E and was recently awarded to Manas).

The report assumes that only two rigs are used concurrently to explore, appraise and develop all opportunities. "Therefore," the report summarizes" the economics or NPV10 in this report is considered to be conservative".

The results of the economic modeling by Gustavson Associates LLC are summarized in the table below.


The economic report also includes a comprehensive risk assessment of the project. The authors point out that there is "considerable uncertainty about the outcome of the project" and the NPV10 "range of results should be viewed as an indication of the uncertainty of the success". However, the authors state that "This project is very attractive from an exploration perspective ...the overwhelming risk in these prospects is in the interpretation of these complex structural plays and the presence of reservoir quality Ionian carbonate. The structural risk may be mitigated by the acquisition of new seismic data and the reprocessing of the old seismic data".

Manas has recently finalized the first part of 600 km 2-D new seismic and is preparing for the second part in Q2 2009.

Hallo - was denkt ihr über folgenden Bericht:

Der Bericht von Gustavson über den Ölfund lässt viele Albaner bereits von Reichtum träumen. Fatbardh Ademi, Leiter der Abteilung für Erdöl der Nationalen Agentur für Natürliche Ressourcen in Tirana (www.akbn.gov.al), meint jedoch: "Dieser Fund ist nicht so groß, wie viele Albaner denken." Laut Ademi sind die letzten Ölfunde in den gleichen Gebieten lokalisiert, die Shell und Coparex in den 1990er Jahren erkundet hatten, als die Ölkonzerne dann doch nicht zur Förderung übergingen. Während einige Experten die von Gustavson vermutete Ölmenge bezweifeln und zur Vorsicht raten, stimmen sie darin überein, dass die in Albanien vorhandenen Vorkommen eine profitable Einnahmequelle werden könnten, wenn moderne Fördertechnologien eingesetzt und weitere Investitionen getätigt würden. Denn durch neue Techniken kann die Ausbeute erhöht und Öl auch aus bislang nicht förderungswürdigen Vorkommen extrahiert werden.

Ein Problem für die Suche nach Erdöl in Albanien besteht darin, dass die geologischen Strukturen sehr komplex und die Vorkommen stark fragmentiert sind (siehe: Albanian Geological Survey, www.gsa.gov.al). Dadurch ist die Wahrscheinlichkeit, am falschen Ort zu bohren, hoch. Seit dem Zusammenbruch des kommunistischen Regimes 1991 haben verschiedene ausländische Ölgesellschaften in 11 Gebieten onshore und offshore Erkundungen vorgenommen und dafür 385 Mio. US$ ausgegeben. Nur zwei der elf Probebohrungen waren erfolgreich, und selbst wenn Öl gefunden wurde, war es zu wenig, als das eine Produktionsaufnahme gerechtfertigt gewesen wäre. Occidental Petroleum fand leichtes Öl bei Berat (Stadt 70 km südlich von Tirana) und Shevron in der Adria. Keines von beiden Unternehmen begann mit der Förderung.

schenz ist wirklich eine gute neuigkeit. der ist zumindest im deutschsprachigen raum ein zeichen von seriosität und integrität. und verstehen tut er von ölgeschäft auch was.
der könnte das sein, was manas momentan noch fehlt, damit sich der kurs nach oben bewegt.

Hi lestrohesta,
ich denke kaum, dass ein Ingenierburoe bestechlich ist und zudem, dass die Leute wissen was sie tun. Daher sollte zumindest die P50 Moeglichkeit von 3 Mrd bbl Oel korrekt sein.
Ob man diese Menge auch nur ansatzweise wirtschaftlich abbaubar erbohren kann, steht auf einem anderen Blatt.

Ob Shell nur aus politischen Gruenden das Gebiet verlassen hat, wage ich es jetzt mal zu bezweifeln...Der Antishellterror in Nigeria bewegt Shell aus Profitgruenden ja auch nicht, dort die Zelte abzureissen.
Allerdings setzt Shell seine Resourcen auch dort ein, wo es mehr gibt als vermutete framentierte 3 Mrd bbl.

Das Risiko ist hoch, die Chancen auch. Drillstart Q2 2009 ... auf jeden Fall ein Risikoinvest wert.


Wer nicht immer gleich Millionaer werden moechte und ein wenig Kleingeld uebrig hat...

MK 34 Mio Euro...

Bei Drillerfolg wird man >340 Mio Euro sein.

500-1000 Euro rein...und warten...
Koennte im naechsten Jahr ein nettes Weihnachtsgeld geben...

Der Ölpreis ist mittlerweile ja nur noch 40 USD.

It natürlich nicht gur für die Performance unseres Papiers.

Andererseits will die OPEC ja mitte Dezember die Förderung massiv drosseln, was den Ölpreis und damit letztlich auch die Manas-Aktie wieder nach oben drücken wird.

Dies ist ja keine sehr gluekliche Entwicklung. Schade auch, dass es das Management verpasste hat auf das Announcement von Caspian Oil zu reagieren. Hat man jetzt die Rig oder nicht???

Viel Schreiberei umsonst - hoffentlich werden wir nicht völlig verarscht. Manas braucht nun wirklich gute Ergebnisse um wieder interessant zu werden. Wegen dem Ölpreis wollte ich nur erwähnen, dass andere Ölaktien an der Börse aber trotzdem nach oben gehen - und nicht so wie bei Manas voll nachlassen.

Habe gerüchteweise von Interessenten aus den USA und Kanada gehört.

Wäre ein stimmiges Szenario. Mit Schenz gibt es nun einen kundigen Aufsichtsrat, das hebt das Unternehmen doch vno anderen in diesem Segment ab. Und jetzt wird versucht, den Kurs zu drücken. So What. Ich bin guter Dinge für die nächsten Wochen.

World Finance’s ‘Petroleum Company of the Year’ award has been named - and this highly prestigious, inaugural award goes to the Switzerland-based Manas Petroleum Corporation, which has made a huge impact on the power industry in a relatively brief time
Manas Petroleum’s focus since the company began just four years ago has been the exploration and development of giant hydrocarbon assets in Eastern Europe and Central Asia with the aim of building the next great global oil company. This has principally involved operations in countries which were formerly part of the Soviet Union or its satellites, which are now growing more moderate under the influence of Western Europe and China.

During this process, two critical elements remain for what the Manas management views as an historic opportunity to discover and develop major oil assets. The first is that although Russian exploration and development concepts and technologies were previously decades behind that of the West, Soviet record-keeping of geological results was excellent. An overview of Soviet Kyrgyz production and drilling records, for example, reveals an obvious trend towards larger fields as depth increased.

It also indicates that more large discoveries should occur as deep tests continue. Reinforcing this conclusion is the recent re-interpretation of other meticulously-kept Russian records relating to Soviet 1980s-vintage Kyrgyz seismic operations. The results that Manas and its partner have obtained indicate the existence of numerous, large, deep under-thrust, potentially oil-containing, undrilled structures.

State-of-the-art
Manas has consistently built a team of geologists and executives who are experts in this area and have demonstrated they have access to much of this information. This enables them to examine archived data using state-of-the-art Western concepts and technologies in their search for evidence of colossal oil deposits.

The second element is that many former Soviet Union (FSU) and Eastern European nations’ business environments are beginning to show dramatic improvements, which makes operating within their borders extremely attractive.

A key to the Manas success story is the fact that its executives are extremely well-acquainted with all the nuances of FSU and Eastern European political realities. They have a proven record of being able to operate and acquire world-class assets there and they know which countries are evolving in a pro-oil business fashion. They also possess crucial geological expertise which enables them to act immediately when opportunities arise.

Since Manas was founded as a private company, with headquarters at Baar, in central Switzerland, it has assembled a well-diversified portfolio of high impact exploration plays spanning two continents and five countries. It includes agreements on and varying interests in more than five million acres of land in Central Asia and Eastern Europe. In a new departure, the company was recently awarded an exploration license for the Magellan basin in southern Chile, an area fast becoming one of South America’s oil and gas exploration hotspots.

The company’s first project was its Kyrgyz Republic Fergana basin oil exploration play. It was a logical opening move because Manas’ ex-CEO Dr Alexander Becker received his PhD in structural geology at Kyrgyz Republic’s Frunze Academy of Science (Bishkek) before going on to discover two significant oil fields and being named the area’s top mapping geologist by the Soviet authorities.

In 2006, British-based engineers Scott Pickford estimated that part of Manas Petroleum’s Kyrgyz Fergana holdings had a P50 an in place resource of 1.2 billion barrels of light oil - an estimate the company is confident will be significantly upgraded.

On the southeastern border of the Kyrgyz Republic is China’s Tarim basin, where the massive Xinjiang field is estimated to supply a fifth of China’s total crude demand. Kazakhstan, home of the super-giant Tengzig, one of the world’s ten largest oil fields, is directly north. The Manas concessions are in an area which shares the same oil saturated geology as China’s Tarim. Both the Tarim and Fergana basins are part of an oil-saturated belt which extends westward and ends at the massive Caspian oil basin. All three areas were first known for their shallow oil production.

Superbly defined
Elsewhere, Manas sees huge oil and gas potential in Albania. The company has production sharing contracts there which cover more than 3,000 square kilometres, and an independent study by American-based engineers Gustavson Associates describes Manas’s oil and gas prospects as “superbly defined virtually drill ready.”

The report adds: “A 2005 light oil discovery by Occcidental Petroleum approximately 50 kilometres south of the Manas blocks has established that the same thrust sheet as the Tirana sub-thrust anticline is Ionian and in fact does contain oil. This substantially reduces the A,B,D,E blocks’ exploration risk as it greatly increases the probability that the giant anticline outlined by Shell and Coparex is in fact the oil-saturated Ionian formation.”

No matter how promising the Albania project might be, Dr Becker is quick to point out that there is always the potential for disappointment with explorations. “We know the prospects’ reservoir capacity is very large and that there is oil in the system,” he says. “But we will never really know for sure if some unexpected geological event has intervened until the prospects are drilled.

“We are getting other companies to take on most of the risks and pay the bills. We may end up with less of a project but we also get to play safe and smart by spreading our risks among many great high potential projects. And that’s how we plan to build a large oil exploration company.”

Manas Project Finance Update






BAAR, Switzerland, January 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Albania (100% Manas)

In 2006 Manas Petroleum Corp. (Manas) funded two bank guarantees totaling US $ 6.2 million for the exploration of Albania blocks A, B, D, E. Of this amount US $ 2.4 million has been used and US $3.8 million remain to be used during the first phase exploration period ending in December 2010. Processing is underway of 190 km of 2D vibroseis acquired during the 2008 seismic program. Seismic data will mature potential drilling prospects including a shallow target (approximately 1000m deep) in Block A. The company is in talks with potential farmin partners regarding drilling this shallow exploration prospect in 2009.

In Manas' recently awarded Albania Blocks 2 and 3 work is continuing to optimize a location for an appraisal well of OXY's Spiragu 1 oil discovery. Formal ratification of the PSC by Albania's council of ministers is expected beginning of 2009. Manas is progressing discussions with potential farmin partners for the drilling of an appraisal well in 2009.

Kyrgyztsan (25% Manas)

In Kyrgyzstan a deep drilling program funded by Santos International Holdings Pty ("Santos") is scheduled to begin in the 2nd quarter of 2009. Manas' has a 25% interest of which 20% is fully carried to production. The costs of exploration from the additional 5% is also funded by Santos but Manas must pay back its pro-rata share of expenses when and if production occurs from that 5% interest.

On December 2nd Manas announced that Farmee Santos had elected to commence phase 2 which consists of the drilling of three (3) exploration wells and three (3) appraisal wells to a maximum expenditure of US$7,000,000 per well. Santos retains a right to withdraw from Phase 2 within sixty (60) days of the completion of drilling of the second exploration well.

In relation to the recent commitment by Santos to phase 2, Manas Chairman Heinz Scholz commented: "It's a clear indication of the robustness of the Kyrgyz oil exploration assets that Santos, a large oil and gas producer, would choose to spend millions of dollars on these assets even though oil's price has fallen to below $50 a barrel."

In conjunction with the phase 2 exploration program Santos` operating company SPC (JSC South Petroleum Company) formed an opportunistic joint venture with Caspian Oil & Gas ("Caspian"), a small exploration company active in the basin. The JV was formed to make use of a Caspian owned rig suitable for the drilling of shallow targets in the basin. The planned drilling of these shallow targets was in addition to the drilling program agreed to in the original farmin agreement with Santos. Manas net interest in any production realized from this specific and separate shallow exploration program remains 25%. The Mobilization of the rig by Caspian to the North Ayzar prospect in Tuzluk Block occurred as expected by mid November. Caspian, however, has been unable to commence drilling due to its own financial constraints. Discussions with an objective of immediately commencing the drilling of this shallow exploration well program are underway.

Tajikistan (90% Manas)

There are no significant expenditures required prior to the completion of the option farmin agreement between DWM Petroleum AG (100% Manas owned). On December 31 2008 the Tajik Parliament and by decree of President Emomali Rahmon certain legal amendments to Tajikistan's Petroleum Law were approved. These amendments give exploration companies the exclusive right of first refusal regarding the development of any petroleum they discover. The approval of this amendment was a principal condition regarding Santos exercise of its option farmin agreement. Discussions to finalize the farm-out between both parties are expected to commence in the immediate future.

Mongolia (74% Manas)

Manas has funded a $4 million escrow guarantee for the exploration of Mongolian blocks 13 and 14. The provision of this money is to guarantee the company's commitments for blocks 13 and 14 as agreed with the Mongolian government. The program is to consist of a 2D acquisition campaign prior to drilling. Manas acreage in Mongolia totals approximately 40,000 square km (9.88 million acres). It contains a proven petroleum system and surrounds two producing oil fields. On December 23, 2008 the Mongolian authorities agreed that Manas may reduce its escrow obligation by $2 million freeing funds for other projects and working capital. The Mongolian authorities agreed to reduce the required escrow obligation to $2 million which is sufficient to fund the 2009 -2010 exploration program.

Chile (20% Manas)

Manas is expecting to provide until the end of 2009 around US $ 1 million for exploration of the Tranquillo Block. Cash calls are expected to commence in summer and fall 2009 exploration period.

In Closing Manas Chairman Heinz Scholz commented: "From our company's founding we have had a strategy of only pursuing exploration projects where the final potential cost of production would likely be very low by industry standards. When oil was over $100 it seemed over cautious, but the fact is that these projects remain very attractive even at today's current oil price. Drillingstart erst im 2nd Quarter! Da haben viele darauf gehofft es frueher losgeht. Die Partern fuer Albanien sind auch noch nicht gefunden.
Der Kurs ist natuelich jetzt ein schlechter Anblick, da viele ihr Geld abziehen und abwarten werden, bis Manas den Drillstart bekannt geben wird.

Das erste kleine Paket hatte ich bei 0,2 Euro geholt. Satte 50% minus...nun...bei so einer Aktie kann das passieren, sollte aber nicht unbedingt so kurz vor Drillstart.

Auch der Ruf der Aktie ist ja nicht so schlecht und es wurde immer wieder betont, dass die Projekte auch bei 50 USD/bbl noch attraktiv sind...


Mal abwarten...was die naechsten Meldungen fuer informative Reichtuemer besizten...

- Kirgistan: NPV/IRR Szenarien wurden bei 35 USD/bbl errechnet
- Albanien: NPV/IRR Szenarien wurden bei 50 USD/bll und 2.5 USD/mcf

man koennte auch sagen es sieht auch bei deisen Werten sehr gut aus...


Kosten in Albanien pro well liegen bei 12 Mio USD und die Pipeline wird 200 Mio USD kosten...


Produktionsstart im Erfolgsfall Ende 2010. Aber so langsam muesste man mal etwas ueber das Drillprogramm erfahren...

Betreffend Status folgendes:



Kirgisien: Die Mobilisation des Drillingrigs hat begonnen und man kann davon ausgehen, dass in Q2 die beiden Oberflächenbohrungen durchgeführt werden. Momentan verhandelt Santos erneut mit verschiedenen Opeators betreffend der Tiefenbohrung. Zudem ist Santos weiter daran ineterssiert Ihre Postion in Central Asien, vorallem der Feragana Basin, auszubauen. Im klar text das Farm-in in Tajikistan ist immer noch aktuell.



Albanien: Momentan verhandeln wir mit verschieden Parteien betreffend einer Direktbeteiligung durch eine Projektfinanzierung.



Mongolei: Die Ratifikation der Lizenzen müssten in den nächsten Wochen erfolgen.

Das wird eine Aktie für eine lange Zukunft. Man sollte nun als Anleger nicht schon bei kleinen Gewinnen - die Aktien wieder zu verkaufen. Laßt das Geld wachsen. Wir werden noch viel Spass mit Manas haben. In ein paar Jahren wird die Aktie bei 20 stehen.

Seltsam, dass Manas hier so wenig Aufmerksamkeit hat. Bin vorgestern eingestiegen, denn auf dem derzeit (immer noch) niedrigen Niveau kann man m.M. nicht so viel falsch machen.

man darf nicht vergessen, dass man ja ein bischen Kleingeld haben muss um bei MNAP einsteigen zu können. Die Finanzkriese hat auch den Kleinanlegern viel Geld gekostet. Manas wäre es aber sicherlich Wert einmal im Jahr einen Urlaub auszulassen - und das Geld für die Aktie zu verwenden. In den nächsten Jahren könnte sich mal ein exkl. Urlaub ausgehen.

Sicher ist die Zahl der risikobereiten Kleinanleger ziemlich rapide geschrumpft, aber trotzdem sehe ich jeden Tag viel mehr Aufmersamkeit für z.T. weit uninteressantere Werte. Auch Geld sehe ich fliessen, aber das Manas scheinbar nicht auf dem Radar in D auftaucht finde ich schon bemerkenswert, zumal sich aktuell sowohl für den kurzfristigen Zocker als auch für den längerfristigen Anleger hier Chancen aufgetan haben.

Manas Petroleum is pleased to report that drilling of the first of two shallow exploration wells by the Kyrgyz joint venture, SPC (South Petroleum Company) is expected to commence within the next weeks.

The prospects to be drilled are from a series of shallow prospects first identified after reprocessing Soviet seismic and then subsequently confirmed with seismic acquired by SPC in 2008 and early 2009. SPC is the Kyrgyz joint venture company created to explore and develop Manas 5 Kyrgyz licenses.

This shallow drill program is the result of the highly successful SPC seismic program. The program has greatly matured the licenses' deeper prospects while also defining shallow prospects that are within a few kilometers of existing light oil production.

Over 800 km of 2D seismic has been shot by SPC. This includes approximately 240 km of 2D seismic acquired by an Iranian crew using a French Sercel 408 station and Nomad 65 vibrators. A further 200 km of seismic is expected to be acquired this year.

The first well is to test the North Ayzar prospect which is in the SPC's Tuzluk license. The rig is a 650hp Chinese Zj20 which is capable of drilling up to 2400 m deep. Major service contractors and the rig are currently in the process of being mobilized from the North of Kyrgyzstan to the drilling location. The Northern Ayzar-1 well is to test the established oil saturated paleogene sandstone and limestone strata from 1650 to 1900 meters in depth. The depth of the total well is 2 km (6,561 feet) and should take approximately 3 to four weeks to drill. The prospect is approximately 5km northeast of the Beshkent Togap Tashravat field and 10km southwest of the Niyazbek-Severnity Karachikum oil field.

The second planned well is to test the East Chongora prospect, which is within the Soh license area. The Eastern Chongara exploration well is to test the same oil saturated paleogene sandstone and limestone beds which have been producing oil from the neighboring North Soh oil and gas field , and the Chongara Gulacha oil field, for over 60 years.

In the event of exploration success, and to eliminate standby time costs, testing of the wells will commence once both wells have been drilled and completed. The drilling by Santos-SPC of the deep subthrust prospects is expected to commence Q1/2010.

Why Manas Petroleum?

There have been more than 40 anticline prospects drilled in this basin to date, and all have resulted in discoveries – a 100% success rate. Santos plans to begin drilling there this quarter. If you wish to buy Manas shares cheap, time is running out – notably, some of the wells they plan to drill over the next year have the potential to produce as much as 20,000 barrels per day.

And its other giant projects?
We expect that Mongolia is another giant in the making as it has near it (in China’s Inner Mongolia) 12 fields that contain more than 15 billion barrels of reserves. BP estimated over 80 billion barrels were generated and that at least 650 million barrels were left in deposits. So what are the chances? Manas Petroleum’s Mongolia project is actually right next to two producing oil fields and oil has already been discovered that has leaked to the surface within its projects boundaries, while seismic (shot by BP when oil was less than $10 a barrel) shows what appear potentially very large shallow light oil deposits.

Manas Petroleum's Chilean acquisition was such a coup that the Financial Times of London, oil industry specialist Upstream and the giant consulting group Wood Mackenzie covered it. Wood Mackenzie notes that Manas neighbors in the basin, super-major Total, and America's Apache has discovered and produced oil and gas on the Argentina side of the play. In summary it emphasized:
"These companies obviously know the geology and operating conditions better than most and will have been able to make a better judgment on the attractiveness of the Chilean blocks".

BP, another super-major with experience in the region, made a very aggressive bid: its subsidiary Pan American is paying 100% of costs to earn a 50% interest in a Chilean block that is right next to the Manas block. Manas Petroleum’s block already contains a gas field (government owned) and pipelines.

An independent engineering study indicates the Manas block has the potential to produce more than 4 trillion cubic feet of gas. Clearly the super-majors only look for super-major sized projects adding further credibility to the Manas expectations. It is another example of Manas being ahead of the curve to successfully seize a giant hard to get energy play, this time in the company of two super-majors: Total and BP and one of America’s largest independents: Apache.

Manas has one of the world’s largest onshore light oil exploration projects in Albania
It is (safely) in Europe and Manas Petroleum has 100% of it. It is only 40 miles north of continental Europe’s largest oil field. According to the combined conclusions of super-major Shell and a French company, Coparex, one prospect has the potential to produce over 800 million barrels of light oil. But the project has grown much larger. Work by US engineering firm Gustavson & Associates (They also have done work for America’s IRS, Department of Energy and companies like Conoco) concludes the potential reserves exceeds 3 billion recoverable barrels. We expect drilling of this giant play to begin by mid-2009.

Impeccable credentials
Manas already has already established its credentials with both its portfolio of high-impact nearly impossible to acquire projects and the seriousness of is partners. The next phase, actual drilling could begin as early as next month. We remind you that in Central Asia's Fergana basin, where drilling is expected to start, the same types of wells (despite using old and highly inefficient Soviet equipment) have produced as much as 16,000 barrels of oil per day and that, every anticline identified by seismic or surface mapping that has been drilled, has resulted in a discovery. 58 oil fields have already been discovered and Manas has over 30 large oil prospects to drill test - each a potential oil field.

Why Manas? Essentially Manas Petroleum is a niche oil company which specializes in acquiring, exploring and developing areas containing on-shore super-giant sized oil and gas under thrust prospects that are likely to be low cost producers. Every project economic studies are based on $35 per barrel oil. To lower risk, the company to date has not touched anything that does not already have production nearby or within its licenses. And its holdings also must have large high quality 2d seismic prospects. As would be expected much of the Manas lands are in areas of the former Soviet Union. Manas Petroleum is an international oil and gas company. Its activities are primarily in South-Eastern Europe, Central Asia and South America. In Albania Manas has developed a giant exploration project with a total resource potential (P50) of 3 billion barrels (independent resource evaluation, Gustavson, 2008). Manas has also recently signed a PSC with the Albanian government covering 2 blocks, one which includes a light oil discovery. Also wir wissen ja, daß hier eine Menge Potenzial liegen könnte -allerdings liegen, nüchtern betrachtet, eigentlich nur einige Resourcenschätzungen vor. Allerdings gibt es ja auch eine Menge Risiken &Unabwägbarkeiten. Ich versuche mich seit einiger Zeit etwas besser in solche Explorations- &Entwicklungsphasen hineinzuversetzen -&da stellt man finde ich m.d. Zeit schon fest, daß, im Detail, Un, Unmengen von Sachen zu beachten sind.

Also hauptsächlich würde ich nur extrem davon abraten MNAP als "No-Brainer" zu sehen! Da ist IMO sogar eher eine allgemeine Sache, das Wort an sich ist IMO schon Schwachsinn -sowas gibt es einfach nicht! Meiner bisherigen Erfahrung nach sind die Leute, die am meisten davon erzählen, genau die, die am meisten Sachen in den Sand setzen. Wenn mir irgendwer irgendwas von "No-Brainer" erzählt -dann werd ich generell schon vorsichtig.

Das nur mal dazu, daß man sich IMO nicht nur zu stark auf die Chancen bei der Wahrnehmung konzentrieren sollte. Es geht einfach darum ein gesundes Chance/Risiko-Bewusstsein zu haben. Und auch hier gibt´s von beidem ordentlich.

Leider hat manas da wenig Einfluss, da Santos der Operator ist.



In Albanien ist manas in Verhandlungen mit verschiedenen Gruppen, zudem wird heute der 1.Quartalsbericht publiziert, aus welchem Sie mehr Informationen entnehmen können.

Dafür, das Manas noch völlig unentdeckt ist, hat der Kurs die letzten Monate bei guten Volumen einen schönen Aufwärtstrendkanal generiert.

Da Manas nun in die heiße Phase (die ersten Bohrungen beginnen nun bald) eintritt, sollte der Kurs die Erwartungen bald wiederspiegeln. Wenn Manas dann auch vom Markt verstärkt wargenommen wird, könnte das dem Kurs Flügel verleihen.

Hast du dir überhaupt mal die Mühe gemacht, eigene Recherchen über Manas anzustellen? Hast du dir das Umfeld einmal angeschaut, wo Manas bohrt und wer bereits dort Öl gefunden hat? Hast du dir die Partner von Manas einmal genauer angeschaut? Hast du die finanzielle Seite von Manas einmal beleuchtet?

nun ja, die Aktie ist von 6 Dollar auf 0,10 abgeschmiert
und hat sich nun auf 0,5 Doller wieder gestiegen.

In 2007 und 2008 wurden nur Vorarbeiten getätigt und es wurden mittelfristig keine Einkünfte erwartet. Dazu kam noch in 2008 die Kriese, die fast jede Aktie mit in den Abgrund riss.

In 2009 schreitet man nun zur Tat. Diese Tatsache wird dem Kurs die Richtung weisen.

Q2 2009 wird sehr interessant.

Guten Morgen

Eine kleine Position Manas hab ich mir mal gegönnt.

Ich dachte, das man in Frankfurt wenig handeln kann, da das ask und bid schwach gefüllt sind und die Preise einen großen Spread aufweisen, aber nachdem ich meine Kaufanfrage reinstellte wurden die Stückzahl und der Preis meiner Anfrage angepasst und der Kauf durchgeführt.
Somit ist es auch kein Problem in Frankfurt zu kaufen.

Die Info aus dem "investorvillage-board" lässt hoffen, das die Bohrprogramme jetzt anlaufen.

Drilling of First Shallow Light Oil Exploration Well Underway in Kyrgyzstan

Manas Petroleum (OTC: MNAP) is pleased to report that the drilling of an exploration well at the North Ayzar -1 (Tuzluk license) prospect by the Kyrgyz joint venture, SPC (South Petroleum Company) is underway. The North Ayzar- 1 is to test tertiary-aged (Palaeogene) clastics and carbonates reservoirs between 1650 and 1900m. Projected total dept of this well is 1950m and it is expected to take from 20 to 30 days to drill. Following the drilling of the North Ayzar-1, the drill rig is scheduled to be moved to a second deeper prospect called the Huday Nazar in the Soh license area where drilling would commence approximately 2 weeks later. Should drilling be sufficiently encouraging, testing and completion of the wells would be made following the drilling of the Huday Nazar.

The offset analogue field to the North Ayzar prospect is the Beshkent-Togap Field (10 MMBO) which is 5km (3 miles) to the Southwest. The P50 mapped closure on North Ayzar prospect is 3 square km while the net thickness of the targeted reservoirs (using the productive limestone and sandstone strata from analogue fields) is estimated according to calculations by RPS Scott Pickford to be 12 meters with 17.83% porosity.

The P50 mapped closure for the Huday Nazar prospect is approximately 6 square km and the planned depth of the well is 2400m. The Huday Nazar prospect was generated as a result of the processing of seismic shot in a recent 2D seismic program by SPC. Analogue fields for the Huday Nazar are the North Rishtan (1 MMBO) and North Soh (13 MMBO, 130 BCF). The Huday Nazar replaces the previously planned drilling of the smaller and shallower East Chongora prospect which is also in the Soh License area.

Acquisition of a total of 800 km of 2d seismic within the SPC licenses was completed as of late May 2009 and seismic processing is on-going. Preparations are underway for 2010 deep drilling program which is expected to commence early 2010.
