Western Wind Energy Corp executes major wind turbine reservation agreement with Gamesa

VANCOUVER, Aug. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Western Wind Energy Corp ("Western Wind") is pleased to announce a major wind turbine reservation order with Gamesa for the procurement of up to 120 MW of wind turbine generators. The Windstar Project, located in Tehachapi California, will consist of Gamesa G80 2-MW, G87 2-MW and G52 850-KW turbines. This flexible product mix is capable of harnessing the uniquely varied wind regime of the Windstar site. Although the terms of the deal are confidential, the order is valued at over $160 million.

The decision to select Gamesa was based on an extensive 12 month evaluation of the various wind turbine manufacturers deemed bankable by major lending institutions. Gamesa, having soundly satisfied the above criteria, offers a robust technologically advanced product, comprehensive after-sale maintenance, and a customer-first orientation. Western Wind has paid a deposit and will pay the bulk of the proceeds from the previously announced Manulife Financing subject to financial closing conditions satisfactory to Manulife.

sieht heute ja mal sehr nett hier aus. mal sehen wie es hier in den nächsten wochen weitergeht...mit windstar müsste ja dann eine neubewertung stattfinden, immerhin werden durch dieses projekt die kapazitäten gleich mal vervierfacht!

bid und ask wird noch bei $1,52 angezeigt, mal eröffnung abwarten die cans faken ja da auch sehr gern rum. das volumen heute in D zeigt ja schon enormes interesse. entweder hat das hier noch niemand mitbekommen oder es herrscht einfach desinteresse weil alle die aktie anders einschätzen wie zb. ich

Naja ich sehe auch gutes Potential in der Aktie, bin zwar nicht sicher wie schnell es hier hoch geht aber mittelfristig dürfte da gut was drin sein.

Habe heute nochmal eine kleine Posi nachgekauft, bin mal gespannt ob es die richtige entscheidung war.

Der vermeldete (Vor-)Vertrag ist gut für Gamesa - weil er denen Geld bringt.
Aber Western Wind Energy dürfte er nicht wesentlich voranbringen. Dafür wären Genehmigung oder ähnliches wesentlicher... mal Anlagen zu reservieren ist ganz nett - aber solange man die nicht verbauen kann, auch belanglos.

Ich kenne dieses Unternehmen nicht näher. Hat jemand da noch weitere Infos in Stichworten? Wie lange gibt es die schon, was haben die schon erreicht, etc.

Oh ha...
Das müssen ja Anlagen sein, die inzwischen 20 Jahre und älter sind... im Schnitt mal gerade 60 kW pro Anlage... die dürften ja eher (Wartungs-)Kosten verursachen als Erträge zu bringen - wenn sie denn überhaupt noch laufen.

Also dass die Projekte für die Anlagen, die sie bei Gamesa kaufen wollen, mal eben so aus dem Ärmel schütteln, glaube ich nicht. Erfahrung ist gut. Aber wenn man vor 20 Jahren mal Anlagen gebaut hat, dann heisst das nicht, dass man das immer noch kann...
