Zoltek ist ein Mitbewerber zu SGL Carbon, (Kohlefaser), müsste also eigentlich in einem Zukunftsmarkt tätig sein.

Warum die aber anscheinend Verluste machen, verschließt sich mir.

Von der SGL-Hype haben sie jedenfalls noch nicht profitiert.

At last check, the stock was trading 9.50% higher at $8.99, with volume up from daily average of 220,753 to 770,467. In the last three trading sessions, Zoltek Companies shares gained 50.08%.

Zoltek shares are soaring after the company announced its fourth-quarter financial results. The company reported fourth-quarter net sales of $43.1 million, compared with net sales of $31.1 million reported for the same period in the previous year. The company’s operating income for the quarter was $1 million, compared with an operating loss of $1.9 million reported for the same period in the previous year.

Zoltek’s net income for the quarter was $4.6 million, compared with a net loss of $0.4 million reported for the same period in the previous year.

Zsolt Rumy, chairman and CEO of Zoltek, said earlier this week that the company is pleased to report improved results for the latest quarter and steadily improving results for fiscal 2011 as a whole and is excited and optimistic about its prospects for accelerating growth and further improvement in its performance in fiscal 2012 and beyond.

und das war auch der Grund des Kursrückgangs: Vestas hatte die Zusammenarbeit aufgekündigt, man wurde an die
Turbulenzen von AMSC bezgl der Sinovel-Friktionen erinnert..........

Vielen Dank für das Posting und die Erläuterung.

Die Zahlen waren ja wirklich gut, un doffensichtlich der Ausbblick auch.

Die Rekation an der Börse hat mich aber schon überrascht. Hoffentlich wurde hier nicht übertrieben.

Ich bleibe jedenfalls drin, nicht zuletzt wegen der Langzeitaussichten.

langfristig kein Problem, kurzfristig vermute ich eine Konsolidierung von der Vestasschen Art -siehe Velauf vor einigen Wochen, unten in den Graph hinein kopiert-:
fulminanter kurzfristiger Anstieg, danach Abgang auf das alte Niveau. Das sind systemisch bedingte Übergänge, die müssen so sein.........

Danke für dein Posting.

Das weiss man natürlich nicht, wie lange das hält. Wahrscheinlich wird es einen Rücksetzer geben, so wie vor drei Monaten nach dem letzten Quartalsbericht (man sah gestern nachmittag schon so etwas). Hoffentlich sind jetzt die Erwartungen des Marktes für die Zukunft nicht zu hoch.

Grundsätzlich halte ich die Produkte für gut und von daher Zoltek für ein interessantes Papier. Und hier kann man an der Technologie partizipieren ohne die Spekulation bei SGL mitkaufen zu müssen. Bin kein Kurzfristtrader.

ich wusste gar nicht, dass Hexcel Carbon Fibres sebst machen, kannt die nur als Verarbeiter.

Wobei der Zusammenhang zwischen Gaspreisen und den Herstellkosten von Carbonfasern (oder gar dem Profit von Zoltek) ziemlich weit hergeholt ist. Viel hängt da auch von der Marktsituation der Zwischenprodukte ab.

Nach den Qurtalszahlen ist die Aktie ja massiv gefallen. Ich habe das mal zu verstehen versucht; und wenn ich richtig liege, sei der Grund für das schlechtere ergebnis gegen Vorquartal der stärkere Forint, oder anders ausgedrückt das gute Ergebnis im Vorquartal sei durch den schwachen Forint begünstigt worden.

Das ist für mich nicht verständlich. Sicher ist Zoltek stark in Ungarn engagiert; aber warum deshalb der HUF-kurs so einen Einfluss haben muss ist doch nicht logisch. Das kann man doch absichern (und sollte man wohl...)

Vielleicht kann mal jemand, der da tiefer drin steckt, kommentieren.

meiner Meinung nach schwächelt Zoltek, wenn Vestas kriselt- wie derzeit.
Das Verhältnis beider zueinander wurde ja oben mehrfach beleuchtet.

was den Forint angeht, so sollten Währungsrisiken kaufmännisch korrekt abgesichert sein- davon sollte man ausgehen können;

doch- ein schwacher Forint ist auch ein Indikator für die politischen Turbulenzen. Sollten EU Tranfers ausbleiben, dann wackeln auch Incentives, mit denen die ZOLT-Einheit nach Ungarn gezogen wurde.

Zoltek Companies (NASDAQ: ZOLT) makes carbon fiber commonly used in the production of turbine blades. In 2011, 28.1% of their revenues came from sales to Vestas Wind Systems, the world's largest turbine manufacturer by market share. The company has not shown an annual profit since 2008, however the first two quarters of 2012 have been very strong. They opened a new 135,000 square-foot facility in St. Louis in late 2011, and raw materials inventory has increased 55% over the year. These are some bullish signals on management's part to me.

Zoltek CEO Rumy Zsolt Bought 45,196 Shares


Zoltek CEO Rumy Zsolt has been continually increasing his shares of ZOLT since August of 2008, purchasing about 200,000 shares throughout a four-year period. Zsolt most recently purchased 45,195 shares of Zoltek at an average price of $7.80 on May 30, 2012, the purchase costing his $352,500. Since his trade, the company's shares have increased by 7.05%.

Zsolt has served at Zoltek's chairman, CEO, CFO, and president ever since founding the company in 1975. Prior to his work at Zoltek, Mr. Zsolt worked as an accounts manager for General Electric ( GE ), as well as an industrial marketing manager for Monsanto Company ( MON ).

Previously, ZOLT was owned by GuruFocus gurus George Soros and Robert Olstein . Each of these gurus held the company for roughly a quarter before selling out. George Soros sold out his shares of ZOLT during the fourth quarter of 2007, and Robert Olstein sold out his shares during the third quarter of 2008.

Meanwhile, other insiders aside from CEO Rumy Zsolt have also been steadily increasing their positions in the company. Like Zsolt, they first began increasing their positions in the company during August of 2008. However, throughout the course of the year 2007, insiders, including Zoltek's CEO, had been selling off their shares of ZOLT at prices ranging from $30.72 to $42.06 per share, as indicated by GuruFocus insider trade data (link here).

Over the last ten years, ZOLT has reported negative earnings for all years by one (in 2008). The company has a predictability rating of 1 star, and has a margin of safety of -29%, as calculated by GuruFocus' DCF Calculator (link here). However, it must been kept in mind that DCF results may not be accurate, due to the low business predictability of ZOLT.

Looking back at ZOLT's public trading history, we see that ZOLT once traded at prices upwards of $50 per share. This occurred at around the third and fourth quarters of 2011. Interestingly, this was around the same time that insiders were heavily selling off their shares of ZOLT. In fact, Zoltek CEO Rumy Zsolt sold 250,000 shares of ZOLT on Aug. 20, 2007, just a little over two weeks after the stock reached its all-time record high of $51.39 on Aug. 9, 2007.

Although debt is not a pressing problem for ZOLT, as the company had $7.76 million of long-term debt and has sufficient cash to pay it off, it should be noted that the company's cash on hand is steadily decreasing to cover costs of unprofitable operations. In 2007, the company issued $146 million worth of stock. Ich frage mich, ob die Gespräche zwischen Vestas und Mitsubishi Heavy Industry gut oder schlecht für Zoltek sind. Einerseits könnte das dort drignend benötigtes Kapital und damit Wachstum für Vestas und damit Zoltek bringen, andererseits hat eine andere Gesellschaft von Mitsubishi ein JV mit SGL bzgl. der Herstellung von Precursor für Kohlefasern.

Der Grund für den Kursaufschwung ist ein SEC-filing. Eine Gruppe Investoren hat 10% der Anteile und möchte das Management austauschen, und hat dazu die Einberufung eines ausserordentlichen Shareholder-Meetings gefordert.
