CAA AG expects EBIT for 2001 more negative than previously forecast - sales target is hard to achieve

Filderstadt, August 27th 2001. CAA AG is expecting an EBIT result of -30 mill DM, which is significantly more negative than planned. Net losses will amount to approximately 28 mill DM after about 2 mill DM in returns on interest. This is attributable to higher costs amounting to DM 10 million from non-recurring effects and costs from restructuring measures which have been initiated. Non- recurring effects include losses from the sale of the entire portfolio of shares (whereby future price losses are excluded), adjustment of the value for customer`s requirement accounts, severance payment for former employees, higher annual accounts and legal consulting costs, penalty paid to the Neuer Markt and costs for temporary staff. Total costs will amount to approximately DM 49 million.

The company will begin an extensive restructuring program in the next few weeks.
