Voxware Inks Enterprise Agreement; Voxware to Provide 800 Systems Initially as Part of Multi-Year Contract

PRINCETON, N.J., Dec 17, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Voxware, Inc. (VOXW) , a leading speech recognition company providing voice-based solutions for industrial applications with a focus on supply chain execution, announced today an agreement with U.S. Foodservice, a leading foodservice distributor in the United States, to deploy Voxware`s VoiceLogistics(TM) solution in selected U.S. Foodservice locations.

As part of the enterprise agreement, Voxware will initially provide approximately 800 VoiceLogistics-310 wireless RF clients to U.S. Foodservice and its affiliates--400 units direct and 400 units through a third party provider. In addition, Voxware will also grant U.S. Foodservice an enterprise software license for a picking application, their VoxServer(TM) VXML application server, and VoxXchange(TM), Voxware`s new standard integration methodology to interface VoiceLogistics to U.S. Foodservice`s standard warehouse management system. Voxware will also be providing professional services, hardware, the RF infrastructure, and ongoing maintenance for the VoiceLogistics solutions it delivers.

Under the agreement, U.S. Foodservice also paid for the VoiceLogistics production deployment of one of its facilities following a successful pilot program. The facility has been operational with 35 users since December 2000.

Voxware has begun work on a VoiceLogistics deployment at a second U.S. Foodservice facility, and has already installed the RF infrastructure for two other sites. In addition, U.S. Foodservice intends to extend RF-based logistics solutions to a third location shortly. Voxware has also been asked to bid on providing the RF infrastructure for additional U.S. Foodservice locations.
