Hallo Ihr Lieben,
habe gerade das Buch über Nanostocks fertiggelesen (Nanostocks. Aktien der Zukunft) und jetzt tierisch Lust ein bißchen über Nanotechnologie und die Zukunftsaussichten fachzusimpeln :-)
Also, ich stelle jetzt mal eine Behauptung auf:
Die Nanotechnologei wird (aus meiner Sicht) eine der tiefgeifendsten industriellen Revolutionen, da man mit Hilfe von Assemblern (die es vieleicht erst in ein paar Jahrzehnten gibt) jedes erdenkliche Produkt Atom für Atom herstellen kann. Als vielversprechendstes Unternehmen sehe ich IBM an, da die ja die beste nanotechnologische Forschung auf dem Planeten haben.
So, Eure Meinung dazu ist gefragt, ich bin gespannt!

Interessant finde ich übrigens auch noch Nanopierce, weil die mit Ihrem Verbindungssystem wirklich einen Milliardenmarkt revolutionieren könnten. Allerdings ist dieser Wert aus meiner Sicht extrem risikoreich, da dieser Technologie erst der Durchbruch gelingen muss. Wenn es dann aber klappt, wird man mit Aktien von Nanopierce sicher Reich...

Welcome to the first Nanotech Watch. In what will be an ongoing series of profiles drawn from listings in the NanotechPlanet.com Premium Service database, we will be providing a closer look at nanotechnology companies, key individuals, and important advances in weeks and months to come.
Our first profile is an interview with Nantero`s CEO and Co-Founder Greg Schmergel. Nanotero received a $6 million, high-profile investment in late 2001 from several leading VC firms. Successful investments not only are of great news interest, but may provide valuable lessons for companies seeking funding. In the interview, Schmergel was asked to describe Nantero and to talk about key factors involved in receiving his company`s funding.

Schmergel: Nantero is developing NRAM, a high-density nonvolatile, random access memory chip using nanotechnology. The company expects to deliver a product that will replace all existing memory, such as DRAM, SRAM and flash memory with a high-nonvolatile RAM.
Our immediate major objective is to make a commercial prototype. Our timeline for that development is one-to-two years. The prototype will be a gigabyte range in storage, will be much faster than existing memory, and can be immediately manufactured. There may be intermediate milestones that we choose to announce, but those are not planned at the moment.
NanotechPlanet.com: How did Nantero manage to receive funding in a recession market:
Schmergel: The first reason we managed to get such funding--and get more funding than we even planned for--is that we have put together a brilliant scientific team led by Dr. Thomas Rueckes, co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer. Rueckes came up with the NRAM concept while at Harvard and he is also co-author of the associated patent. His experience spans the fields of nanotechnology and vacuum surface science of semiconductors and metals.
I should point out that having such scientific expertise on-board is a very, very important advantage in securing funding for a nanotechnology startup. The number of qualified nanotechnology experts is very small and this makes it very hard for competitors to duplicate or to even get into get into this arena. The unique talents of our team is the first reason behind our funding success.
The second factor for our funding success is the progress being made in moving NRAM to reality in a short period of time. VCs want to see a return, want to see a potential for a product in the short-term. They are not interested in funding a long-term research project for 5-10 years, They are interested in funding the development of a product within the next couple years and that`s what we are aiming to do at Nantero.
I should point out why we achieve this in such a short period of time. Rueckes` design cleverly integrates nanotechnology with traditional semiconductor processes so NRAM can be mass-produced in a short period of time.
There are two levels of integration for NRAM. The first is that the end product will be 100% compatible with all existing hardware such as your PC, your laptop, Palm Pilot, digital cameras, etc., etc.
