      NRF 2002

      NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 14, 2002--

SeeBeyond To Feature Leading Integration Platform At Retail`s `BIG SHOW` -- NRF 2002

Enabling the real-time flow of business-critical information to all key touch points of an organization, SeeBeyond (Nasdaq:SBYN) is expanding its base of leading retail companies implementing end-to-end customer management, supply chain management and eCommerce strategies. With eight of the top 50 global retailers implementing SeeBeyond`s flagship integration platform, SeeBeyond is becoming the leading choice for retailers worldwide. Working with companies such as Barnes & Noble.com, Hallmark, Lands` End and PETsMART to enable the seamless flow of information, SeeBeyond recently won additional business with other leading global retailers such as Supermarches Match and WHSmith.
By improving the flow of information among suppliers and customers, SeeBeyond enables retailers to provide faster response times, ultimately improving customer service and keeping inventory-related costs down. SeeBeyond credits its success in driving retail supply chain efficiencies and customer relationship management (CRM) improvements not only to its advanced technology and industry leadership, but also to its unique strategic base of retail service and software partners, such as Retek and UCCnet.
Validating SeeBeyond`s success in the retail space, strategic alliance partner Retek has chosen to embed market-leading technology from SeeBeyond as the integration backbone for its newest release, Retek 10 -- one of the largest retail technology efforts ever embarked upon. The SeeBeyond(TM) platform will be used to connect the Retek application modules and to provide connectivity to third party applications. This offering provides a clear path for Retek customers looking for a comprehensive integration strategy for today, as well as for the future, and offers SeeBeyond further opportunity to significantly grow its market share in the retail space.
Furthermore, SeeBeyond has been providing a flexible, standards-based integration architecture for over a decade. Sharing a firm commitment with UCCnet, the leading electronic commerce foundation supported by retail and CPG industry leaders, SeeBeyond is providing members with the ability to synchronize data and item management via the Internet, enabling suppliers and retailers to leverage the services provided by UCCnet.
Working with SeeBeyond, leading retailers are reaping the benefits of streamlined information flow today, which in turn enhances Collaborative Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment (CPFR), optimizes existing assets, and increases supply chain efficiencies. A sampling of SeeBeyond retail customers includes:

-- Barnes & Noble.com: Using the robust SeeBeyond platform, over 150 interfaces were created to connect to MQ Series for integration of catalog information for in-print books for Barnes & Noble.com, to accommodate MSMQ, flat file, RDMS interfaces, etc and to integrate SAP financials through ALE and IDOC methods.
-- Carrefour: Integrating SAP Retail with other legacy systems, SeeBeyond will allow Carrefour Belgium to develop a new I/T architecture for its 450 hypermarkets, supermarkets and central offices to respond to evolving customer demands while significantly reducing systems implementation and maintenance costs.
-- Hallmark Cards, Inc.: As its corporate standard, SeeBeyond provides enterprise-wide integration solutions to Hallmark to enable the seamless, instantaneous flow of information both within the enterprise, and out to suppliers and customers. SeeBeyond provides Hallmark with a key transformation technology to further enable its eBusiness initiatives.
-- Lands` End: Enabling more flexible business processes, services and channels, SeeBeyond solutions connect multiple Lands` End systems by integrating data storage systems, hardware, network protocols and enterprise applications.

"Customers in the retail space require rapid deployment and flawless information integration in order to reduce inventory costs and ensure that customers receive prompt, efficient service," said Russell Dryden, director of Supply Web Marketing for SeeBeyond. "Providing retailers with significant ROI by delivering innovative solutions which connect, integrate, and optimize business systems, SeeBeyond has emerged as the leading integration solution in the retail industry, and is making collaborative commerce a reality today."
