Zacks All-Star Analyst Issues Recommendations for 6 Stocks:
MSFT, INTC, TXN, DELL, AAPL, and FMKT
CHICAGO, Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The odds for an economic rebound keep rising
each day. Richard Jack plans to take advantage of the imminent economic rebound
by selecting computer software stocks prepared to excel. And few can do that
better than Richard given his +89% return in 2001: Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), Intel
(Nasdaq: INTC), Texas Instruments Inc.`s (NYSE: TXN), DELL (Nasdaq: DELL),
Apple Computer Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL), and Free Markets Inc. (Nasdaq: FMKT). For

Here are the details on Analyst Richard Jack`s Stock Picks for today:
The companies he likes in his various sectors include:
Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) is still the 800 pound gorilla of the software industry with
no long term debt and $45-50 billion on its balance sheet. Jack says the Xbox is
showing some signs of traction in the retail space, which will be helpful to its top
line.
Jack is optimistic on the semiconductor stocks, which he recognizes are generally
leaders coming out of a downturn in the economy. The expected pickup in PC
sales will benefit these chip makers, especially Intel.
Intel (Nasdaq: INTC) made a small cutback in capital expenditures, but, because
capital equipment prices have come down, Intel will be able to maintain good levels
of capacity enhancement, and won`t have to cancel orders.
Texas Instruments Inc.`s (NYSE: TXN) chips are developed more for the wireless
arena. Jack feels it is a well-positioned company at the bottom of its earnings
cycle. If there is an upgrade trend in cell phones, which Jack predicts will occur by
the middle of 2002, this company will benefit strongly.
DELL (Nasdaq: DELL) is Jack`s pick to play the coming increase in PC sales. The
company has a great business model, low inventory of finished products keeping
the component price down. DELL is gaining market share worldwide and its
workforce has been trimmed down so it is a leaner company. Jack finds the
multiples compelling.
Apple Computer Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) is a niche player. Jack feels that, at the
current price level, the shares could be rewarding, albeit with a bit more risk.
Apple`s focus on the education market is providing it a bit of insulation from the
downturn. They have about $12/share in cash along with strong demand among
students and graphics designers.
In the B2B section, Jack likes Free Markets Inc. (Nasdaq: FMKT), a company that
does online procurement for industrial companies through reverse auctions to buy
industrial supplies. At a time when many B2B companies are falling short, their
business model has excelled, and the company has strong visibility because its
contracts are guaranteed with a minimum level of auctions.

Investitionen. Angesichts der unsicheren globalen
politischen Lage verbunden mit der schwächeren
Konjunkturprognose erwarten wir für das erste
Fiskalquartal 2002 einen Mindestumsatz von 1,4
Mrd. US-Dollar bei einem Gewinn von 10 Cent
pro Aktie."
Für das Gesamtgeschäftsjahr 2001 erzielte das
Unternehmen einen Umsatz von 5,36 Mrd.
US-Dollar bei einem Nettoverlust von 25 Mio.
US-Dollar, im Vergleich zu 7,98 Mrd. US-Dollar
Umsatz und einem Gewinn von 786 Mio.
US-Dollar im Fiskaljahr 2000.
