Following up on my post on DKN a few days ago the stock has today broken up again on good volume.

Following a big rise in 1999 to $1.90, when the company went in to financial services the stock went in to a downtrend for 18 months as its market trading and other businesses lost money ,A change of board and restructure took place in July back to its core business of financial planning and superannuation funds management.

With the aging population and comulsory superannuation this is a good sector to be in.

In the last 8 weeks the stock has broken its 18 month downtrend ,consolidated at 15c to the point the old resistance is the new support line and today had volume of nearly 2% of the tradeable stock.

The selling depth is now very thin and the dkno which I own were bid up to 3c with only 2 sellers left in the screen at any level.

The DKNO expire in 6 months so its a bullish sign that there is no selling in the options and plenty of buying when the exercise price is 20c and the stock 16/16.5.

In the chairmans address at the AGM he stated that the company was uniquely placed operating in one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy.

The company has no debt, cash in the bank and according to the chairmans address broke even in the first quarter of 2001/2002 ,a big difference to the 10m loss the previous year when it tried to run about 6 different businesses as one.

I hold dkno and await the half year result hoping to see they have turned a 10m loss around to break even or better,if this is possible it would be a credit to the new board headed by the former head of Colonial, and Tyndall Rob Hunwick, and explain why the chart has turned northerly.

Speak to your broker I hold dkno from much higher levels.

only a small point but DKN was for that blink of an eye at $2.05. I assume your chart may be adjusted for other issued shares or converted options etc.

i`d not be surprised , all things taken into account , if dec results showed a small profit , with second half results even better as savings from closures and economies starting to kick in during the third quarter .

guess option holders must be looking at up to 30c by then , for a healthy profit . that wd do me !! . tks your post

The PE ratios of the sector DKN is part of are 20+ with COU,IGP,and FPS all being over 25.Market caps DKN 9m,COU 100m,IGP 100m and FSP 27m.DKN has over 300 advisers.
Deakins top 20 is very strong with anz, colonial, citicorp, mercantile mutual and liberman family major holders.
All board memebrs are large shareholders.
Deakin has over 1 billion in funds under advice. It seems to me that this stock has been overlooked of recent times and if what fellow posters are saying, this stock could be rerated quite soon. The fact that hardly any DKNO are being offered (given that they expire in june 2002) is a good indication imo that good news is forthcoming

I understand that things have really turned around so that half ending 30 June is expected to be very profitable. They are already looking to buy new financial planning businesses in NSW and Qld.

It does seem to look a little better from a charting perespective.
      For those in the know:
      1. How much $$ does it have in the bank.
      2. It was mentioned by aprevious post that all Board Members are are large holders: How large is their holding, and was it simply issued shares by the company or was it from there own back pockets? I noted on the comsec site that 3 directors only had $33k and the increase in holdings was companied issued non listed options. If I am incorrect on this my apologies!
      Thanks in advance.
I don`t hold, just tempted but wary.

Check out the early trades! Looks like somebody either knows something or is taking a very large gamble. Maybe a return to core buisness will restore some shareholder value.
      i hold dkno

      Hi Crocodile,

      DKN - strong buy!
