Das Wichtigste zusammengefaßt:
· Ein bedeutender Meilenstein für die Conduit Gruppe ist das positive Ebitda von Euro3 Millionen welches erstmals in Q3 erreicht wurde. Dies ist ein großer Erfolg verglichen zum Q2 wo das Ebitda noch minus Euro5 Millionen betrug.
· Die Anzahl der Anrufe in den ersten 3 Quartalen hat sich, verglichen mit der gleichen Periode des Vorjahres, um 90 % auf 59,6 Millionen erhöht,.
· Die Umsätze sind um 79 % auf Euro,4 Millionen gestiegen, im Vergleich zur gleichen Periode im Vorjahr wo die Umsätze noch Euro,9 Millionen ausmachten.
· Der Bruttogewinn stieg von 28,3 % im Q2 auf 33,2 % im Q3, daraus ergibt sich ein Bruttogewinn für die ersten 3 Quartale von 27,5 %.
· Die Zahl der Mitarbeiter stieg von 1.077 im Dezember 2000 auf 1.400 per 31.12.2001.
118 Ltd. - Kauf der Gesellschaft in Grossbritannien
Conduit ist stolz den Erwerb von 45 % Anteilen der 118 Limited von Sonera Media Holdings BV ("Sonera"), bekanntgeben zu können. Durch diesen Erwerb ist Conduit 100 %iger Eigentümer von 118 Limited Grossbritannien und wird deshalb der alleinige Nutznießer der zu erwartenden Expansionsergebnisse sein. 118 Ltd. ist eine in Grossbritannien registrierte Gesellschaft, die Auskunftsdienste in Grossbritannien durchführt. Das kurzfristige Nettovermögen beläuft sich auf circa Euro8 Millionen, wobei das Ebitda im Q3 bei circa Euro5 Millionen liegt.
Bei Vertragsabschluß werden für die Anteile EuroMillionen in bar fällig. Bestehende Darlehen in der Höhe von Euro3 Millionen von Sonera bleiben bestehen und werden jährlich über einen Zeitraum von 3 Jahren nach Vertragsabschluß zurückgezahlt. Die Gesamtanteile an 118 Ltd. werden wie bisher von Conduit Enterprises Ltd., einer 100 %igen Tochtergesellschaft von Conduit plc gehalten.
Ergebnisse kommentiert von Liam Young, Chief Executive Officer Conduit plc;
"Wir freuen uns, daß wir einen bedeutenden Meilenstein in unserer Geschichte, nämlich ein erstmals positives Ebitda, im letzten Quartal erreicht haben. Damit haben wir auch die Markterwartung - nämlich Ebitda breakeven - übertroffen. Es ist uns auch gelungen die Umsätze weiter zu steigern, die Kosten trotzdem zu reduzieren, und damit den Bruttogewinn von 28,3 % auf 33,2 % zu erhöhen. Besonders freue ich mich, daß wir unser Vorkaufsrecht für den 45 % Minderheitsanteil von Sonera an 118 Ltd. ausüben konnten. 118 Ltd. ist strategisch wichtig für die Gruppe, besonders im Hinblick auf die derzeitigen Bemühungen von Oftel den Auskunftsmarkt in Grossbritannien zu deliberalisieren. Grossbritannien ist der größte Auskunftsmarkt in Europa mit circa 700 Millionen Anrufen jährlich. Conduit"s Ziel ist es das erfolgreiche irische Modell zu kopieren und einen ansehnlichen Marktanteil nach der Liberalisierung zu erreichen.
Als Ergebnis einer Umstrukturierung der Conduit Software Aktivitäten hat Herr Shane Buckley, CEO von Conduit Software und Vorstand von Conduit plc mit heutigem Tage seinen Ausscheiden vom Vorstand und auch der Firma bekanntgegeben. Der Vorstand von Conduit plc dankt ihm für seine Unterstützung und wünscht ihm das Beste für seinen weiteren beruflichen Weg.

Browser Security Hole A Conduit To MSN Messenger Contacts

Independent computer security researchers who say Microsoft Corp. should move faster to fix vulnerabilities in its software have demonstrated how a two-month old bug in the Internet Explorer browser can be used to uncover the contacts in MSN Messenger "buddy" lists.
Programmer Tom Gilder, along with bug-hunting partner Thor Larholm, say the vulnerability known as the "Document.Open" bug first reported in December could allow a malicious individual to harvest the buddy lists of those who use Microsoft`s instant messaging software and who can be enticed to load a specially crafted Web page.
What`s more - as the pair demonstrated late last week - a hacker is able to send messages or file attachments to those contacts as though he or she were the unwitting MSN Messenger user whose buddy list had been exposed.
The pair said that, in fact, the security hole allows a hacker to do anything with the MSN Messenger software that a user would be able to do - all in the guise of the software`s owner.
"There has recently been reported some privacy problems in MSN Messenger," the pair wrote in a posting to the Bugtraq mailing list of California-based SecurityFocus. "However, these problems pale in comparison to what can be done if you use MSN Messenger through unpatched IE vulnerabilities."
Ironically, Microsoft may have been poised Thursday to repair the "Document.Open" JavaScript-based vulnerability, but what was billed as a comprehensive patch for numerous critical security issues in the IE browser was removed from the company`s Windows Update Web site shortly after being posted.
Microsoft said Thursday that the cumulative patch would have fixed "all known security flaws in Internet Explorer." However, tests conducted by Newsbytes suggested that the update that made its way online Thursday left open some well-known holes.
Microsoft has not said when a revamped patch will be made available.
The "Document.Open" bug reported Dec. 19 by a security researcher who likes to use the handle ThePull, was described as an IE browser hole that could allow a hacker to use a common JavaScript function imbedded in Web pages to read files on an unsuspecting user`s hard drive or to snatch browser cookies associated with third-party Web site.
Gilder and Larholm said they found that the same bug allowed them to manipulate MSN Messenger through Microsoft`s ActiveX Controls after they used JavaScript`s "Document.Open" function to launch a blank browser window.
Once loaded, by feeding "Document.Open" the name of a dynamic link library (DLL) on the user`s hard drive, that new browser instance permitted other commands to access MSN Messenger functions to proceed with the security level afforded local processes.
The pair said the best short-term fix for the problem is to disable scripting on the IE browser`s security controls. MSN Messenger users who don`t want to turn off scripting in their IE browsers should at least disable the instant messenger`s ability to log on automatically to the network, they said.

Conduit Takes 100% Control Of UK Subsidiary
08/02/02: Conduit, the directory enquiry company that operates the 11850 service in Ireland, has acquired the 45% stake in UK company 118 Limited
The stake was held by Sonera Media Holdings, and the deal gives Conduit 100% control.
118 had net assets of approximately ?2.8m and, according to Conduit, had approximately profit before interest, depreciation and amortisation of ?500,000 in the third quarter of its financial year.
Conduit is paying ?4m in cash on completion and assuming debts of ?3.3m from Sonera which will be payable annually over a period of three years following completion.
Conduit has also reported a net loss of ?1.1m for the quarter ending ending December compared with ?1.4m a year previously.
On a nine month basis, the net loss for the period ending December was ?7.5m on turnover of ?37.3m. The corresponding nine month loss in 2002 was ?2.9m.
The losses have widened despite a surge in calls handled by the directory assistance operator. The company handled 21.6 million calls in December 2001 compared with 11.6 million one year earlier.
This means that for every call Conduit handles, it loses 12.6 cent.
Chief executive Liam Young said he expected improvement in the coming quarter.
Young said 118 was of considerable importance because of the deregulation of the UK directory market. (08/02/02)

Tja. Das mit demtraden ist wohl vorbei. Wenigstens verkauft aus dem Niveau auch niemand. Hat ja auch etwas positives.

habe gerade 500 Stück auf Xetra zu meinen vorhandenen 1500 Stück dazugekauft(Kurs angehoben)... nun hoffe ich endlich mal auf ein bissl mehr Interesse...

Hoffe ich auch! Aber ich denke im Moment interessiert sich niemand für Conduit. Kurs wird seit Tagen ohne große Umsätze nach unten getaxt. Aber soballd die Umsätze anziehen geht es ab.
