      Quelle: FOCUS-MONEY vom 21.02.02, Seite 28

      ********************************************************************

      Fazit:

Fastlink moves towards next generation in 2.6 million Euro deal with TelesensKSCL
Extended relationship with TelesensKSCL provides key support
      · Jordan Mobile Telephone Services Company (Fastlink), the leading mobile network operator in Jordan, signed an order today in Cannes to purchase billing and customer care support for GPRS services.
      · This latest purchase by Fastlink is a renewal of a proven working partnership as Fastlink already utilises TelesensKSCL billing software. Due to rapid growth in the services provided by Fastlink to its customers and the boom in its customer base, TelesensKSCL will provide a system that will respond to those needs. The company’s base rose from 280,000 subscribers to 680,000 subscribers at the end of the year 2001 and has an ambitious plan for continued expansion.
      · TelesensKSCL is set to become the dominant partner to telecoms operators in the Middle East.

Cannes, 20 February 2002 — Jordan Mobile Telephone Services Company (Fastlink), the leading mobile network operator in Jordan partly owned by Orascom Telecom, and TelesensKSCL, today signed an order in which TelesensKSCL will extend the relationship between the two companies to support Fastlink’s move into GPRS services.

Fastlink was originally granted a license as Jordan’s exclusive GSM operator six years ago until 1999/2000 when due to the entry of new competition, heavy investment in Fastlink saw its capacity increase significantly. Offering a combination of prepaid and post-paid services and a range of other services including an innovative loyalty programme, the Fastlink network now covers 99 percent of Jordan.

This growth in both services and subscribers has been supported from the outset by TelesensKSCL’s Billing and Customer Care products. Fastlink have already launched GPRS services in 2002 as the first provider in the Middle East. Further significant advances such as the utilisation of EFR (Enhanced Full Rate) technology, the addition of new switches and the ongoing roll-out of WAP technology will follow. The company will continue to meet the future demands of both corporate and individual customers.

Fastlink has decided to proceed by extending its relationship with TelesensKSCL in a deal that cements a working relationship that has proved highly productive to date, and enables the operator to expand on its proven billing solution backbone. Comments Michael Dagher, President and Chief Executive Officer of Fastlink: “We have deployed TelesensKSCL’s billing software to great effect during a long period of success, and the reliability and functionality of the solution has been exceptional. Furthermore, TelesensKSCL’s product roadmap answers all the key questions we have posed billing for the new services that are planned for the next twelve months.” He continues: “In addition, we have worked closely with, and gained many benefits from the pro-active TelesensKSCL team. In moving our billing infrastructure forward, expanding on the base of the many advantages the TelesensKSCL solution offers us was the obvious choice.”

Notes Moritz Gerke, CEO of TelesensKSCL: “We are delighted to see our relationship with an important customer broadening so significantly, and also delighted that we have been an essential part of Fastlink’s success in the market to date. It has always been our view that success for TelesensKSCL is fundamentally a matter of how well we work on behalf of those who use our solutions. Fastlink’s decision suggests that not only the quality of our products, but also the nature of approach to users is the right one.”

Concludes Gerke: “The billing market is presently a sea of change, but the recent decisions by TelesensKSCL customers to expand their relationships with the company suggests that getting the fundamentals right is the best way forward, and offers the operator the ideal path to succeeding with next generation services. We offer our clients new functionality and system flexibility, allied to the traditional values of stability and a reliable partnership.”
