habe gerade durch zufall festgestellt, daß der webauftritt von acs sports anscheinend kurz bevorsteht!!
unter www.acssports.com steht die ankündigung. hat jemand ahnung, seit wann diese seite verfügbar ist?? als die news von der zusammenarbeit zwischen scp und acs herauskam gab es die seite noch nicht.
bin mal gespannt, was uns erwartet.

p.s.: habe von scp eine mail bekommen, in der die veröffentlichung einer "press release" in aussicht gestellt wird, in der auf die genaueren umstände eingegangen wird.
könnte mit dem onlineauftritt von acs einhergehen.

SCORPION ANNOUNCES FURTHER DETAILS OF PROPOSED BUSINESS COMBINATION WITH ACS SPORTS.COM, INC.
TORONTO, ONTARIO--Scorpion Minerals Inc. (``Scorpion``) (TSE - ``SCP``, Frankfurt - ``PIZ``) is pleased to provide additional information relating to ACS Sports.com, Inc. (``ACS Sports``), further to our press release dated January 13, 2000. Scorpion entered into a letter of intent with ACS Sports providing for a business combination of the two companies which, if completed, would result in Scorpion`s current shareholders owning 33.4% of the combined entity (21,589,238 shares) and the current stakeholders of ACS Sports owning the remaining 66.6% (43,000,000 shares). In addition, should the current stakeholders of ACS Sports exercise the 11,140,430 share purchase warrants they hold in ACS Sports, they would be entitled to receive an additional 11,140,430 shares of the combined entity based on the same exchange ratio, reducing the interest of the current Scorpion shareholders to 28.5%. Prior to entering into the letter of intent, ACS Sports, through Groomecapital.com Inc. and Lines O! verseas Management Limited, completed a financing that raised US$7.9 million. A further US$7.9 million will be raised should purchase warrants associated with the financing be exercised.

ACS Sports, with operations in New York and Baltimore, is an exciting new Internet-based sports related business formed by the combination of three companies - American Cities Studios, Inc. (``AmCities``), Cybernet International Corporation (``Cybernet``) and Multimedia Sports Inc. (``Multimedia Sports``). ACS Sports, through these subsidiary companies, distributes local and regional sports content over the Internet and develops and administers the web sites of major sports franchises and organizations including the New York Yankees (www.yankees.com), Oakland Athletics (www.oaklandathletics.com), New York Mets (www.mets.com), Baltimore Orioles (www.theorioles.com), Tampa Bay Devil Rays (www.devilrays.com), Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia (launching in February), MinorLeagueBaseball.com (www.minorleaguebaseball.com), the Women`s Tennis Association (www.wtatour.com) and many others.

ACS Sports and AmCities evolved from what had been two distinct businesses - Cybernet and Multimedia Sports. Cybernet, formed by Ted and Jerry Silverman, was primarily a developer of sports related Internet web sites, having created and implemented award-winning Web sites and marketing programs for a number of marquee sports organizations.

Multimedia Sports, formed by Joe Violone, develops television, cable, broadcast, video and CD-ROM based sports content including production of ``Yankees Magazine``, a half-hour Magazine format television show that has aired weekly on the Madison Square Garden Network since 1987. Joe Violone has extensive experience in the development of multi-media sports related content including sports related videos. Mr. Violone`s repertoire includes ``Red Storm report``, a show similar in format to Yankees Magazine, for St. Johns University basketball and award-winning, chart-topping video productions including ``Pinstripe Destiny`` the story of the 1996 New York Yankees, ``The Season of Their Lives``, the story of the 1998 New York Yankees and ``Champions of the Heart``, the story of the New York Yankees` 1999 championship season. These productions have been among the highest selling videos, remaining on the Billboard Top 10 list for several months.

By bringing together Cybernet and Multimedia Sports, ACS Sports combines the technical and Internet based strengths of Cybernet with the video production capabilities of Multimedia Sports, into a company dedicated to becoming a leader in the development of local and regional sports content on the Internet.

Michael Farrugia, Chairman of Scorpion, said that ``We are very excited about this potential business combination. ACS Sports has secured contracts with an impressive list of some of the most prestigious sports franchises in North America and are actively adding new names to this distinguished group of clients. The business combination is subject to the completion of due diligence as well as legal, regulatory and shareholder approval and is expected to close in the first quarter of this year. At the Scorpion shareholders` meeting, shareholder approval will be sought for a number of matters related to the business combination including a change in name from Scorpion Minerals Inc. to ACS Sports.com, Inc. or some other name appropriate to the ongoing business of the combined entity.

ja, der Meinung bin ich auch - außerdem sind das wirklich aufregende Nachrichten. Dazu passt gar nicht, daß der Kurs in FSE heute so eingebrochen ist. Aber ich bin auch superoptimistisch, was scorpion minerals angeht, auch wenn die ausnahmsweise nicht in Australien sitzen. Und das ist auch gut so. Die ASX macht schließlich immer nur Ärger, wenn der Kurs mal richtig anzieht (siehe ADELONG und DEEPGREEN)
