RESPONSE TO ASX QUERY

Further to your letter of 31st January, 2000, I wish to confirm as
follows:

1) The Company has released all relevant information regarding its
investments in its Quarterly Report.

2) The Company`s major investments, including non-mining have been
disclosed and the Company is continuing an active investment policy
with the objective of maximising returns to shareholders.

3) At this stage, there is no proposal before the Company that would
lead to a change in its status.

I refer to Australian Stock Exchange Limited`s ("ASX") letter of 27
January 2000 and Deepgreen Minerals Corporation NL`s (the "Company")
response of 27 January 2000 concerning the increase in the Company`s
share price. Your response was unable to explain why the price
increased on that day.

ASX notes that the price of the Company`s ordinary shares has today
risen 2.6 cents to 5.7 cents. Approximately one third of the
Company`s issued shares were traded today. The price of the Company`s
quoted options increased 35 cents to 65 cents. Further to your
telephone conversation with me this evening, please confirm:

1. That the Company has nothing to announce and is not expecting to
make an announcement pursuant to listing rule 3.1 in the near future;

2. That other than as disclosed in the Company`s quarterly report
released today, the Company is not involved in any non-mining or
non-mining exploration activities;

3. That the Company is not proposing any change in activities as
defined by listing rule 11.1. I refer you to the Guidance Note on
Change of Activities set out in the Guidance Note section of the
listing rules.

Wenn ich die Meldung oben richtig verstanden habe, heißt das soviel wie :

Das der Direktor John J Byrne seine Anteile an Deepgreen um 49,3 Millionen aufgestockt hat - angeblicher Sinneswandel etc.

Für mich hört sich das garnicht so negativ an, oder warum stockt er wohl seine Anteile auf ??

ich entnehme daraus lediglich, wieviel Anteile der Vostand hält und daß es bezüglich der letzten Veröffentlichung Veränderungen gab. Allerdings sehe ich nicht in welche Richtung es ging, hat der Vorstand ver- oder gekauft?
