Wovon viele täumen. Pacnet hat es geschafft.
---------------------------------------------------
Net Revenues
Net revenues for the first quarter were US$20.4 million, up 27.8% compared to first quarter 2001. The largest revenue growth was registered in the broadband access segment. Broadband access revenues grew to US$4.3 million, an almost four-fold increase over the same quarter last year.
Despite the strong broadband revenue growth, careful management of telecommunications expenses has allowed the group to maintain its gross profit margin at 60.3%. Effective cost containment has ensured that all other operating costs and expenses grew more slowly than revenue, thereby significantly improving operating profit this quarter compared to the same quarter last year.
Cash
As of March 31, 2002, Pacific Internet held cash and cash equivalents of US$13.8 million.

China Verlust von 8 Mio US$ - Pacnet Gewinne

Extrem preiswert!

- größer asiatischer ISP (einziger in 6 Ländern)
- sehr solides Managment

16.05.2002: Pacific Internet meldet schwarze
Zahlen
Pacific Internet (Nasdaq: PCNTF; WKN: 918895):
15 Prozent niedriger.

LOL
--------------------------
Zum KGV:
Geplant sind 1,5 Mio US$ Gewinn.

US$. Allesamt bieten Breitbandzugänge an.

Thema Online Gaming
--------------------
Friday May 31, 5:00 am Eastern Time
Press Release
SOURCE: Pacific Internet Limited
Pacific Internet Launches Paid Model For Online Gaming Business
SINGAPORE--(INTERNET WIRE)--May 31, 2002 -- Pacific Internet (NASDAQ:PCNTF - news), Asia`s leading Internet Service Provider (ISP), today announced the launch of its paid online gaming business model. El Kardian, a Massive Multi-Player Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG), which was introduced for beta trial in November 2001 is the first game to be launched commercially by Pacific Internet on its Pan Asia Gaming Network (paGn).
The game attracted a popular following amongst 40,000 trialists consisting of local Singapore gamers and foreign gamers from countries such as America, Europe and Canada. A recent study by NetValue, a global Internet intelligence firm, also reported that the percentage of Singaporeans who visited online gaming sites in March this year increased by 33% compared to the same period last year. This is an indication of the popularity of Multi-player online games and the commercial potential of the online gaming business model.
Says Mr. Tan Tong Hai, President & CEO, Pacific Internet Limited, "This latest initiative by PacNet will help us break new ground through the development of a paid gaming business model which is a relatively new and untapped revenue stream. We are very excited about the possibilities, as there are opportunities for PacNet to expand our online gaming business footprint across the Asia--Pacific through our presence in other markets such as Hong Kong and Australia."
"As part of our overall broadband strategy, we believe the next big thing in the electronic entertainment industry is online gaming. As most big game developers and publishers gravitate towards this area, Pacific Internet, with its excellent Internet access and hosting infrastructure, coupled with its direct relationship with consumers, is well poised to capitalize on this big opportunity. Over the years, with the wealth of experience we harness in online gaming with paGn (Pan Asian Gaming Network), the potential and opportunities to work with service providers and developers to provide a full gaming solution is tremendous." Said Mr Ong Teck Guan, Managing Director Pacific Internet Limited.
El Kardian is a fantasy medieval adventure game set in the magical world of Aldania. This game utilizes 3-dimensional graphics to create a high quality, life-like animation effect. It is the only online game that allows players to compose their own quests and at the same time, invite other players to partake in the created quests. Most importantly, PacNet`s game masters ensure that the excitement in El Kardian is always kept alive with regular upgrade patches.
El Kardian is open to local and overseas gaming enthusiasts. As part of the introductory offer, the current activation fee of S$19.95 is waived for new users and there is also a free 7 day game trial available.
------------------
Hast Du dich mal gefragt warum Sintel (einer der Größten in Asien) unbedingt Pacnet übernehmen wollte ? Klar weil Pacnet so eine Mistfrima ist. LOL

@offLimitsLtd.
Bitte Quelle.

Was soll man reinvestieren, wenn man keinen Gewinn erzielt?

PacNet Eyes Gaming Industry
According to IDC, improved Internet capabilities, next-generation video game consoles, and non-traditional gaming platforms will lure some 40 million households into online gaming by 2004 worldwide, up from 25 million in 2000.
Online gaming in Asia is also getting increasingly popular not just in Korea, but Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore where broadband connection is high and on the rise.
A recent study by NetValue stated that the percentage of Singaporeans who visited online gaming sites in March this year increased by 33 percent compared to the same period last year.
In a move to be a part of the growing industry and in line with its broadband strategy, Pacific Internet, one of Asia`s leading Internet Service Providers (ISPs), has launched its very own version of paid online gaming business model.
According to its president and CEO, Tan Tong Hai, a paid gaming business model is still relatively new but opens up untapped revenue stream. And he hopes that the new initiative will help expand the company`s online gaming business footprint across the Asia-Pacific through its presence in other markets such as Hong Kong and Australia.

Pacific Internet Presents “Broadband Across Asia” At CommunicAsia 2002
At CommunicAsia 2002, Pacific Internet, Asia’s leading Internet Service Provider (ISP) will present “Broadband Across Asia”. Under this theme will be four main showcases, featuring new and innovative solutions from Pacific Internet and its partners.
Mr Tan Tong Hai, President and CEO, Pacific Internet Limited, said, "The broadband wave across Asia is picking up. We want to take this opportunity to demonstrate the strategic use of broadband technology - be it access applications or content – to enhance business operations. Our showcases at CommunicAsia will show our customers how they can exploit the technology to benefit their business.”
Showcase One - Broadband over PowerLines
In April this year, Pacific Internet partnered SP Telecommunications, a subsidiary of Singapore Power Ltd when it launched Singapore’s first commercial Powerline Communication (PLC) trials. The company’s foray into PLC is part of an ongoing effort to innovate and stay at the forefront of Internet development.
Broadband over Powerlines will be presented for the first time at CommunicAsia, giving visitors first-hand experience of this innovative technology. PLC uses existing electricity cable infrastructure to carry voice and data signals. It enables a broad spectrum of applications and services including broadband Internet access, Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) and other multimedia services.
As part of the showcase highlights, Pacific Internet will demonstrate a video conferencing solution running on Powerline access technology.
Showcase Two - Broadband Global Roaming
Pacific Internet, together with iPass Inc, a premier provider of global remote Internet access services, is presenting Broadband Global Roaming at CommunicAsia. Pacific Internet is constantly striving to understand and meet customer needs and has recognized that customers require fast connections to the Net when they are traveling. Broadband Global Roaming enables broadband users to get online conveniently and effectively to retrieve corporate data or communicate with offices virtually anywhere in the world at high speed. This will significantly reduce the time associated with downloading files and corporate data or sending and receiving of emails over a fast and secure network, leaving individuals more time to attend to other work matters or simply to get more sleep.
Showcase Three – Broadband Gaming Network
Broadband Gaming Network is an end-to-end solution from Pacific Internet for Game Developers, Publishers and Cybercafe Game Outlets. Besides being a provider of online gaming content via its Pan Asian Gaming Network (paGn – www.pagn.net), Pacific Internet has also created a platform to facilitate and serve the online needs of Developers and Network Game Outlet owners.
Pacific Internet has a two-pronged approach to the online gaming business:
Delivering compelling Interactive Entertainment and Gaming content through partnerships with Game Developers and Publishers. This is based on a B2C and B2B2C model to provide the latest Massive Multi Player Online Game (MMOG) to broadband Internet users directly through paGn, and by offering them on a paid subscription basis or via selected Cybercafe Game Outlets.
End-to-end game hosting and access services for Game Developers, Publishers and Cybercafe Games Outlets. These services include community development, billing settlements, and custom-made game solutions for existing outlets to set up franchise and affiliate paGn branded game centers.
With the company’s footprint across six countries, paGn is well poised to be the premium Games Content Provider in the Asia-Pacific. There are plans to launch paGn in other regional operating countries outside of Singapore where Pacific Internet has a presence. This positions Pacific Internet as the partner of choice for Game Developers and Publishers to help them extend their reach in the region and boost their revenues by being part of the paGn community.
At CommunicAsia, Pacific Internet aims to establish new partnerships with Game Developers and Network Game Outlet owners in the burgeoning online gaming industry.
Showcase Four – Broadband Regional Connectivity
Voice over Broadband, showcased for the first time by Pacific Internet at CommunicAsia, provides companies with the ability to extend regional intra-company voice communications via their PABX systems. This service reduces the long-distance telephony charges for companies that need to communicate with regional branches across Asia.
With its reach across six countries, Pacific Internet offers a unique proposition to corporate customers by providing a comprehensive suite of access and application services to enhance their intra-company enterprise network, for the delivery of mission-critical enterprise applications and voice services.

Singapore`s Broadband Adoption On The Rise
The number of broadband (home) users in Singapore has grown by 35 percent in a matter of six months, up from 135,000 in October 2001 to about 172,000 in March of 2002, said Internet research firm, NetValue. This indicates that slightly more than 71,000 households on the island are now broadband enabled (see table 1).
Said the company`s director of sales, Alan Choo: "It is not surprising that Singaporeans are hopping onto the broadband wagon considering that the extended bandwidth enables faster downloading, better audio and visual effects, and greater multi-player capabilities."
He added that the competitive pricing packages introduced by the broadband providers, especially in recent months, have also helped fuelled the broadband adoption rate in Singapore.
Users Behavior
Broadband users tend to behave very differently from their narrowband or (dial-up) counterparts. For instance, broadband users are found to spend more time on other activities besides Web surfing.
Compared to narrowband users, NetValue findings showed that the high-speed connection subscribers spent 36 percent more time on instant messaging, 44 percent more time on gaming and 56 percent and 86 percent more time on emailing and audio streaming activity, respectively. In fact, the proportion of time spend on these applications far out-weighs the time spent on purely surfing or browsing activities.
"Due to their ability to browse much faster and engage in more types of protocols more efficiently, it also means that broadband users can be more demanding, less tolerant for poor Web site interface, and tend to be bored faster," said Choo.
"Hence, with the increasing number of subscribers, this spells the need for vendors to enhance and enrich their Web site contents more regularly at a faster pace," he added.
Broadband Users Profile
Male surfers dominate the broadband arena.
The research found that 72 percent of the active broadband users are males compared to slightly over 50 percent of narrowband users.
Those aged 15 to 24 also constitutes about 45 percent of the broadband population compared to only 30 percent of the users using the conventional dial-up to access the Internet.
"We also see a surge in the proportion of student broadband users, comprising about 31 percent of the broadband population," said Yong Soo Keong, NetValue`s research consultant.
He added: "This is not surprising since many students are known to play games over the Internet. Many of the popular multi-player online role-playing games (MMORPG) in the market today such as `Counter-Strike` are bandwidth intensive. Hence, players on slow speed access would be easily terminated in the midst of a tactical mission."

Pacific Internet Clinches Two Prestigious Awards At CommunicAsia 2002
Business Management Asia Innovation Award 2002
SINGAPORE--(INTERNET WIRE)--Jun 19, 2002 -- Pacific Internet Limited (NASDAQ:PCNTF - news), Asia`s leading Internet Service Provider (ISP) is the
proud recipient of two prestigious industry awards at CommunicAsia 2002, Asia`s leading international communications and technology exhibition.
Pacific Internet was voted "Best Asian ISP" in the 2002 Telecom Asia Readers` Choice Awards, the region`s premier telecom industry awards and the only one of
its kind to honour and recognize outstanding performance in telecommunications in the Asian region. Pacific Internet has swept this award category for the fourth
consecutive year based on nominations and votes received by industry peers. Telecom Asia has a circulation of 25,000 readers consisting of company executives
and professionals from Asian telecommunications service providers, equipment vendors and telecommunications users.
For the first time, Pacific Internet was also recognized by readers of Business Management Asia Magazine (BMA) as Asia`s Most Innovative Company in the
Internet Service Provider category. The Business Management Asia Innovation Awards, profile Asia`s most progressive and talented companies based on a
readership survey of its 81,000 subscribers. Nominations were reviewed by an independent panel of judges and by the BMA editorial team to decide on the overall
winners. The awards are intended to reflect Asia`s unique and diverse industry profile and judging criteria included - technology application, marketing approach,
recruitment, growth and expansion.
Says Mr. Tan Tong Hai, President and CEO, Pacific Internet Limited, "We are honoured to receive these two awards from Telecom Asia and Business
Management Asia. Pacific Internet has differentiated itself through innovation and we have leveraged on our wealth of expertise in the Internet business to bring
value to our customers; helping them to exploit technology that benefit their business. This is the basic tenet of our business as an ISP. The accolades we have
received are significant achievements that further cement our position as a leader and the Internet Service Provider of choice for customers."
At CommunicAsia 2002 held from 18th through 21st June, Pacific Internet is showcasing new and innovative solutions under the theme "Broadband Across Asia".
At the show, Pacific Internet is taking the opportunity to demonstrate the strategic use of broadband technology -- be it access, applications or content to enhance
business.
Showcase One - Broadband over Powerlines
In April this year, Pacific Internet partnered SP Telecommunications, a subsidiary of Singapore Power Ltd when it launched Singapore`s first commercial
Powerline Communication (PLC) trials. This is the first time that Broadband over Powerlines will be showcased where Pacific Internet will demonstrate a video
conferencing solution running on Powerline access to give visitors a hands-on feel of this new innovative technology. The infrastructure enable applications and
services including broadband Internet access, Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) and other multimedia services to be delivered.
Showcase Two - Broadband Global Roaming
Pacific Internet, together with iPass Inc, a premier provider of global remote Internet access services, presents Broadband Global Roaming at CommunicAsia.
Broadband Global Roaming enable broadband users to get online conveniently and effectively to retrieve corporate data or communicate with offices virtually
anywhere in the world at high speed. This will significantly reduce the time associated with downloading files and corporate data or sending and receiving of emails
over a fast and secure network.
Showcase Three -- Broadband Gaming Network
Broadband Gaming Network is an end-to-end solution from Pacific Internet for Game Developers, Publishers and Cybercafe Game Outlets. Besides being a
provider of online gaming content via its Pan Asian Gaming Network (paGn -- www.pagn.net), Pacific Internet has also created a platform to facilitate and serve
the online needs of Developers and Network Game Outlet owners.
At CommunicAsia, Pacific Internet aims to establish new partnerships with Game Developers and Network Game Outlet owners in the burgeoning online gaming
industry. The company`s strategy is focused on two areas:
a) Deliver compelling Interactive Entertainment and Gaming content through partnerships with Game Developers and Publishers and;
b) End-to-end game hosting and access services for Game Developers, Publishers and Cybercafe Games Outlets.
In the future, there are plans to launch paGn in other regional operating countries outside of Singapore where Pacific Internet has a presence. This positions Pacific
Internet as the partner of choice for Game Developers and Publishers to help them extend their reach in the region and boost their revenues by being part of the
paGn community.
Showcase Four -- Broadband Regional Connectivity
Pacific Internet showcases Voice over Broadband for the first time at CommunicAsia. This service provides companies with the ability to extend regional
intra-company voice communications via their PABX systems; reducing the long-distance telephony charges incurred when communicating with regional branches
across Asia.
With its reach across six countries, Pacific Internet offers a unique proposition to corporate customers by providing a comprehensive suite of access and
application services to enhance their intra-company enterprise network for the delivery of mission-critical enterprise applications and voice services.

Dear Sirs,
it`s sad to observe the development of your shares at Nasdaq.
In the opinion of many shareholders the value of your shareprice does
not reflect the positive newsflow.
Unfortunately the still decreasing volume of traded shares is a clear
sign noone cares about PacNet in America.
This can last for years, hence I would like to know:
What can you do to make PacNet well known in America?
Is and was PacNet at Nasdaq a bad mistake?
What about a listing at your domestic market?
As long as PacNet does not make these first step, big investors won´t
invest in PacNet.
And as a longterm investor I would like to emphasize PacNet shareholders
have suffered enough.
With kind regards
Dear Investor,
We understand and share your disappointment in the development of PCNTF
stock on NASDAQ. Our management has been working hard to improve our
fundamentals and deliver improving results each quarter. But these efforts
were not reflected in our stock price as you have pointed out.
We understand the need to raise PacNet`s awareness in the US and we are
already looking into it to see how we can do it in the most cost-effective
way. Of course, we know this is not without its obstacles as the entire
global tech sector, especially the Internet and telecoms sector, is no
longer favoured. Listing on a secondary market may not be timely as the
beating of Internet/telecoms stocks has also spread to Asia.
We are now looking at getting better public relations representation in the
US in the hope that PacNet`s true value can be uncovered amongst the other
Internet/telecoms players through greater awareness of the financial media.
On the investor relations front, we are trying to target and interest
institutions to take a look at PacNet. These efforts may not bear fruits
overnight but rest assured that we are taking steps to ensure that PCNTF is
valued more accurately in the marketplace.
I would like to get in touch with you over the phone to get some feedback
from you and see how we can do better in any areas. Would you be available
to have a quick conversation with myself this week? Would really want to
speak to you if you are comfortable.
Thanks for your email and hope to be able to speak to you.
Regards.

Dear Ms. Khoo Seok Teng,
thanks for your prompt response.
You asked me for a feedback. As I know a lot about PacNet it`s my pleasure
to
share with you some of my concerns.
The problems of PacNet have not changed over the past two years.
Two years ago I sent a similiar mail to PacNet (Ng Adrian).
Reason was the in the eyes of the investors insufficient public relation in
America.
Parts of the answer I received:
- PacNet has recently nominated Gavin Anderson, a global PR/IR firm based in
the
US, which will help us establish contacts with key investors and analysts in
the
US marketplace. This will help lower the knowledge barrier significantly in
the
US regarding our company`s fundamentals-
What happened in the past two years?
Shareholders were angry they had to check Asian newspapers in the internet
to
receive news about PacNet, while PacNet felt it not necessary to publish
news to
the shareholders.
If a company is listed in the US, they have to act by their rules.
And PacNet frustrated thousands of shareholders because they did not care.
When your former CEO Mr. Lee left the company, the shareprice shortly
increased,
because investors had the hope with a new management things would turn
better.
Passing the past two years by, PacNet improved the results and the strategy
to
avoid cash burning worked.
However, the shareprice at NASDAQ speaks a completely different language.
I try to give you some reasons for the downturn, I `m aware many of these
reasons are shared with a lot of German shareholders. We communicate about
wallstreet- board, an internet community especially for shares.
Of course as you mentioned in your mail the internet/telecom sector is no
longer
favoured, but this is only the smallest problem of PacNet.
PacNet needs a strong partner. And Sembcorp is a nightmare for PacNet.
PacNet had no help from SembCorp to expand your business from the
beginning.
Shareholders expect a strategy of growth. With your limited resources
PacNet is
unable to grow in an appropriate way.
When I first took an eye on PacNet, you still had a cusomer base of more
than
300.000.
Three years later it`s 400.000, insufficient in the eyes of many
shareholders.
Your own goal was to become Asian Internet provider number one.
Now PacNet is in danger to get more and more insignificant.
You chose countries like India and Thailand for your further growth, because
of
your limited cash position.
In the meantime competitors of Pacnet grew significant more in ONE country
than
PacNet in together 6 countries.
PacNet has the experience and know how , but in every statement it is
getting
clear, very, very limited resources.
Did your management make every efforts to replace Sembcorp by a strong
partner?
Frankly speaking I`m very surprised no strong telecom or internet company
should
be interested in Pacnet!
In all this years only the Mitsubishi deal really caught my eyes.
Why only one such partnership in all these years???
For great partners with the goal to grow in Asia PacNet should be a dream!
It`s something I would expect from a strong management.
Due to Sembcorp PacNet has another problem.
The freefloat of your shares is on a very low level.
What happened two days ago to the shareprice?
One investor tried to sell 7.000 shares. As a result the shareprice dropped
from
1.7 to 1.06. This is really unbelievable. We are just talking about 10.000
USD.
No interest at all for PacNet shares.
Investors can`t buy the shares, because they are unable to sell them.
No fond can invest in PacNet because of the insufficient freeflow.
A clear sign your public relation up to now bears no fruits at all.
And nothing changed in the past two years.
I don`t have the solution for everything, but how can I buy a share, if
orders
of 1,000 or 2,000 shares have such a significant influence on the
shareprice.
It seems to be time for some changes.
With kind regards
Und hier die Antwort::
Dear Mr ,
Thanks for still sharing with me. I appreciate it a lot as not many are
willing to take time to share with me.
I am not new to PacNet too. I was Nicholas Lee`s executive assistant before
he left, so I know PacNet probably as long as you do. I took over Investor
Relations when Nicholas left early last year. So I`ve seen PCNTF stock
price soared in the earlier days and seen it fall to the price today.
Please allow me to explain some points that you pointed out and also hope to
get some answers to the questions that I have been trying to find out.
PR in US
- Yes, we engaged Gavin Anderson 2 years ago but to be frank, we were
hoping to see some positive results. But unfortunately, this did not happen
and we decided to engage some other PR firm who are more hungry and will try
harder for us. I must admit that without a physical presence in US,
building up the profile and awareness of PacNet is not easy. We hope we can
see some improvements with the change in the PR firm within the next few
months.
- For distribution of PacNet news, I must apologise that I have neglected
in the initial few months when I took over Investor Relations in June last
year. I have realised the need to put out our news on the US wires so that
they get picked up on financial portals like Yahoo such that investors like
yourself can get the news. We will continue to put out news through the
wires. We are also reviewing putting out news to German Business wires. In
fact, we sent out our Q1 2002 earnings releases translated to German via PR
Newswire but I wasn`t able to track if any German news website has picked up
the translated earnings release. Perhaps you can let me know if you have
seen it.
- For news distribution, I am also trying to send out regular email updates
to the investor email list on top of what we have sent out via the news
wires. These are usually the news from our regional subsidiaries like
Australia, Thailand, etc. Problem is that I need to ensure that the people
who wants to hear our news gets on this mailing list. If you know of anyone
that wants to receive PacNet`s news, please help me to inform them to get on
our Investor Relations mailing list.
Message Boards in Germany
- I also realised we have quite a strong following in Europe, especially
Germany. This is also why we tried to translate our Q1 2002 earnings
release to German and sent out via German news wires. But I have very
little understanding of why we have such strong following from Europe. I
hope you are able to share with me the reasons. Also, how is the trading of
PCNTF shares done in Europe? Is it still through brokers in US or you can
trade through your local brokers? Did you even receive our annual report
each year? Why I ask was that I have only the beneficiary shareholder list
in US but not those outside US. And from Nasdaq, we can only see the 13F
filings which are US investment houses. We hope to be able to reach out to
our European supporters too, not just US.
- I have tried to send emails to the European institutional holders to
initiate a conversation but received no responses at all. Would you be able
to share what could be the possible reason? Is language a problem? I had
wanted to call but I thought they would be more comfortable to "talk" on
email first since they may not be comfortable to speak in English.
PacNet`s results
- As for the point that our subscriber base only grew from 300,000 to
400,000, PacNet has been trying to shift more focus on corporate customers
rather than consumers. This explains why the subscriber base growth seems
slow. You would understand that adding 1 corporate customer is probably as
good as adding tens or hundreds of consumers. In fact, we think that our
regional presence puts us in very good position to attract more regional
corporate customers which are of higher margins than consumers. Of course,
we will still keep our consumer base going.
- As for choice of countries to go into, there are many factors we
consider. Countries like India and Thailand have very low Internet
penetration and hence they represent markets of high potential growth.
Also, opportunities and the right conditions for acquisition or entry have
to be there too.
- As for SembCorp`s divestment plan, it is SembCorp`s prerogative to make
the final decision since they own the shares ultimately.
Price fluctuation
- Yes, we are aware of the extreme price fluctuation with low levels of
volume traded. So this probably again ties back to our PR efforts. Do you
think there are other more immediate things we can do to minimise such
fluctuations besides stepping up our PR efforts? We know that PR efforts
may not bear fruits immediately, so we are trying to see if there are other
ways to control extreme price fluctuations by a few individuals.
Management Meetings
- Would you think that European/German institutions would want to meet up
with PacNet management? I have been thinking about this but not very
encouraged when I don`t even receive a single response from any of the
European/German holders. Any views on this?
I really hope I can do something to improve the situation. So would
appreciate if you can spare some time to maintain this conversation with me
as it`s a very precious feedback channel to me.
With many thanks.

Manager, Investor Relations
thanks for your prompt response.
- PacNet has recently nominated Gavin Anderson, a global PR/IR firm based in
the
US, which will help us establish contacts with key investors and analysts in
the

the

@Ocke

MrBlueChip

Hi Leute, hi Mr.BlueChip, Sack aller Säcke !

Pacific Supernet Launches BizVoice Solution
Unlimited overseas communication at an affordable and fixed price
Tailor-made to corporate customers, from SME to large enterprises
HONG KONG, 5 July 2002 - Pacific Supernet, a leading Internet Service Provider in Hong Kong, today proudly announced the launch of BizVoice Solution which is especially tailored to the needs of today`s businesses. The launch of this service enables companies to transfer enhanced voice, data and fax via existing data network and enjoy substantial savings in long distance phone bills by paying a fixed flat rate with unlimited international communications.
In contrary to conventional VoIP services currently available in the market, BizVoice Solution uniquely offers a cost-effective option for our clients to deploy VoIP via their existing broadband network. It is generally advisable to use IPLC and IP VPN for overseas VoIP to ensure stable connection. However, it might not be a cost-saving option for some of the enterprises, especially SMEs in Hong Kong. Supporting full range of connectivity from Broadband, Leased Line to IPLC and IP VPN, BizVoice Solution is definitely suitable for businesses of all sizes, ranging from Small-to-medium Enterprises (SMEs) to large enterprises.
With the IP bandwidth dedicated to connect between China and Hong Kong, the stability of connection is more guaranteed and thus, users can ride on the broadband network while enjoying the better quality of voice and data transmission. Under QoS (Quality of service) management, voice quality is further enhanced through prioritizing voice transmission over data.
"Dedicated bandwidth to China allows a more stable connection to transfer voice, data and fax and thus deployment of VoIP via broadband network is feasible." said Eddy Kuk, Managing Director, Pacific Supernet.
Furthermore, this brand-new solution provides users with the ease of use and connects overseas offices by one-stage dialing as if dialing internal extensions across the border.
The package includes rental of VoIP gateway and the whole equipment setting is highly compatible with different models of routers and telephone systems that users are currently using. No additional up-front purchase in hardware is required and users can easily count on existing equipment without incurring additional capital investment.
"We understand how important it is to keep good communication with overseas trading partners and colleagues, and how costly it could be. The new BizVoice Solution definitely provides an excellent and cost-effective option to users." Kuk added.
Pacific Supernet offers 24x 7 Technical Support to BizVoice Solution, backed by its experienced network engineers. Users are assured with the best quality by 100% Uptime Guarantee under Service Level Agreement and maintenance service both in Hong Kong and China. This service currently connects Guangdong and Hong Kong.
"The introduction of BizVoice Solution definitely reinforces our leading position as an end-to-end Internet Services Provider in Hong Kong. Coupled with our existing connectivity services, users will definitely benefit the best from the vast potential of the Internet." Kuk concluded.
Pacific Supernet will organize a seminar to introduce BizVoice Solution to corporate users. It includes a presentation and demonstration of the service. Members of the press are welcome to attend this seminar. Please see the following details:

>>> The launch of this service enables companies to transfer enhanced voice, data and fax via existing data network and enjoy substantial savings in long distance phone bills by paying a fixed flat rate with unlimited international communications.

Pacific Internet Subsidiary Launches BizVoice Solution In Hong Kong
Solution tailor-made for corporate customers, from SMEs to large enterprises
Singapore, 10 July 2002 - Pacific Internet (Nasdaq: PCNTF), a leading Internet Service Provider in Asia, today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Pacific Supernet in Hong Kong, has launched a new solution named BizVoice, specially tailored to meet the communication needs of today’s businesses.
With this solution, companies based in Hong Kong will be able to transmit enhanced voice, data and faxes via their existing data networks. Although they only pay a fixed flat rate, the solution allows unlimited communications between their regional offices located in Hong Kong and China. The newly launched service will initially offer connectivity between customers’ regional offices located in Guangdong and Hong Kong, with plans to extend coverage to customers’ regional offices in other parts of China.
Compared with conventional VoIP services currently available in the market, the BizVoice solution offers a unique cost-effective option for customers to deploy dedicated VoIP services via their existing enterprise networks to reduce long-distance telephony charges incurred when communicating with domestic or regional branch offices.
The solution is designed to be flexible and scalable to support a full range of connectivity modes from Broadband, Leased Line and IPLC, combined with IP-VPN to ensure secure voice and data exchange. BizVoice is suitable for businesses of all sizes, from Small-to-Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to large multi-national companies looking for a means to extend domestic and regional intra-company communications via existing corporate networks.
For companies looking to deploy such a solution regionally, it is generally advisable to use IPLC and IP VPN to ensure a secure and stable connection. With a dedicated IP bandwidth connection between China and Hong Kong, users can ride on the broadband network while enjoying the better quality of voice and data transmission. With QoS (Quality of service) management from Pacific Supernet, voice quality is further enhanced by prioritizing voice transmission over data.
“Dedicated bandwidth to China allows a more stable connection to transfer voice, data and faxes, thus making deployment of VoIP via broadband feasible. Additionally, this solution is easy to use and has a single-stage dialing similar to dialing an internal extension across the border.” said Eddy Kuk, Managing Director, Pacific Supernet.
The package includes rental of a VoIP gateway and the entire equipment set-up is highly compatible with different models of routers and telephone systems that businesses are currently using. There is no additional up-front purchase of hardware and users can use existing equipment so as not to incur additional capital investment.
"We understand how important it is to have good communications with overseas trading partners and colleagues, and how costly it could be. The new BizVoice Solution provides a high quality and cost-effective option to users. As part of the Pacific Internet Group, spanning across six countries in Asia, Pacific Supernet is in a unique position to provide a comprehensive suite of access and application services to enhance intra-company communications across the region to companies in Hong Kong, enabling enterprises to deploy secure mission-critical applications and voice services”, Kuk added.
Pacific Supernet offers 24x7 Technical Support for the BizVoice solution, backed by its team of experienced network engineers. Users are assured of a Service Level Agreement, as well as maintenance services available both in Hong Kong and China.
"The introduction of this BizVoice solution strengthens our leading position as an end-to-end Internet Services Provider in Hong Kong. Coupled with our existing connectivity services, users will greatly benefit from the vast potential of the Internet." Kuk concluded.

Pacific Internet Is First ISP To Launch Web Acceleration Service In Singapore
SINGAPORE--(INTERNET WIRE)--Aug 6, 2002 -- Pacific Internet (NASDAQ:PCNTF - news), Asia`s leading Internet service provider (ISP) today announced the introduction of Speed Booster, a new Web acceleration service which can increase Internet users` existing web surfing speed by up to four times. This service is launched in partnership with BoostWorks(TM), a leading provider of server-based solutions to accelerate the delivery of Web content and applications.
Speed Booster works by optimizing and compressing data for faster delivery, allowing end users to enjoy quicker access to Web pages and faster downloads, particularly for graphic intensive sites. In turn, the faster download speed translates to cost-savings for customers as this reduces telecommunication toll charges for dial-up users who have to pay time-based local call charges to access the Internet.
"We are excited and pleased to be the first ISP to introduce a web acceleration service in Singapore. As Asia`s leading ISP, we are constantly looking to offer new services that will bring greater benefits and satisfaction to our customers. Our partnership with BoostWorks is part of Pacific Internet`s strategy to deliver cost-effective and innovative solutions that enhance the online experience of our customers", said Mr. Sui Wee Chong, Senior Vice President, Corporate and Consumer Sales & Marketing, Pacific Internet Singapore.
Speed Booster is targeted at both dial-up and broadband subscribers, but with this new service, dial-up users will be able to experience surfing speeds comparable to a broadband connection. Today`s savvy Internet users are more impatient and do not want to spend large amounts of time waiting for Web pages or data from the Internet to download. They are also constantly looking for means to access the Net faster and more efficiently, in the home or at work.
The service is based on BoostWork`s flagship product, BoostWeb - a server-based software solution, which dramatically improves the response time of web site and application data for the end user. The performance enhancements result from BoostWorks` exclusive and patent-pending Intelligent Network Acceleration (INA) technology. Depending on the type of data and network speeds, pages display up to four times faster, the amount of HTTP traffic is reduced by two to seven times, and scalability of the site is significantly improved.
"BoostWorks is delighted with the opportunity to work with a leading Asian ISP like Pacific Internet. Speed Booster is deployed using our award winning flagship product, BoostWeb and we are confident that Pacific Internet`s customers will benefit from the improved response time for web applications," said Mr. Romain Barberis, Regional Sales Director for Asia Pacific Operations.
The monthly subscription for Speed Booster is S$9.95 per user with a one-time activation fee of S$10.00. As part of Pacific Internet`s promotional offer, existing and new consumer dial-up and broadband customers will enjoy one-month free subscription and the activation will be waived when they subscribe to Speed Booster. A free demo test of Speed Booster is available at www.pacific.net.sg.
In the near future, Pacific Internet plans to offer a tailored service for corporates.

@JPerjil:

Gut so.

Reiners, Dein dummes Geschreibsel nervt langsam.
In diesem Sinne
