Hallo Börsenkaiser,
ist Legend nicht die chineschische Firma, mit der LINTEC eine
Kooperation geschlossen hat?
LINTEC vertreibt deren Notebooks in Deutschland und nutzt Legends Kontakte
zum Vertrieb ihrer Software-Produkte (Pixelnet) in China.

Wenn das so ist, ist es nur mehr eine Frage der Zeit, bis Lintec wieder an
alte Höchststände anschliesst. Antworte mir bitte rasch, damit ich mich noch
günstig mit Lintec-Aktien eindecken kann. Die dümpeln momentan so um die 90
herum.

also das, was du meinst ist ne news vom 9.12. (www.lintec.de unter news)
lange her, aber lintec heute gestiegen, tja, also ehrlich gesagt, weiß
ich auch nichts genaues, deshalb hab ich ja diesen thread eröffnet!
ich weiß bloß soviel: legend hat noch nicht fertig, als chinas größter
pc-hersteller steckt da ein riesengroßes potential, vor allem wenn china
der wto (world trading org.) beitritt......deshalb legend halten!!!
die story geht noch weiter!!!

Legend ist nach wie vor ein klarer Kauf. Bin seit 0,98 Euro
dabei. Die Aktie wurde im Sommer letzten Jahres vom
Handelsblatt mit der Dell-Aktie verglichen. Mit dieser Aktie
haben wir die 1000 % Chance !!!!

HONG KONG, Jan 26 (Reuters) - China`s largest
personal computer maker Legend Holdings Ltd said on
Wednesday it would announce a merger or acquisition
with a local partner in coming months which would boost its Internet operations.

"There are two situations where we would be interested, the first would be to cooperate
with someone who had greater expertise in developing Internet services," Chairman Liu
Chuanzhi told reporters at a briefing.

"The other would be the acquisition of a small firm that had a certain technological strengths
or special expertise," Liu said, adding it was now a sensitive time and he could not say
more. Executives would not reveal how much the company had earmarked for these
ventures.

The company had budgeted 30 to 40 million yuan in capital spending for financial year
2000, which ends March 31, 2000, but these ventures were not included in that budget.

The red chip China-based company reported after-tax profits of HK$147 million in the
third quarter ending December 31 1999, a 58 percent increase over the year-earlier
quarter.

The rise came on the back of 46 percent growth in revenues, executives said. The
company would also announce the details and terms of its current and future cooperation
with China Telecom, Executive Director Mary Ma said. Legend had set up a nation-wide
cooperation agreement with the telephone company to provide Internet users with a
one-year free unlimited Internet dial-up service.

This agreement aided the sales launch of the company`s first generation Internet personal
computer, the Legend Conet, during the past quarter, Ma said. Sales of the PC in its first
two months on the market were 14,000 units and profit margins about 20 percent, Ma
said. During the three months ended December 1999, the company also launched its
portal, www.fm365.com.

It consists of six channels, which included news, education, entertainment, lifestyle, stock
market and shopping information.

Revenue from these ventures, chiefly advertising revenue, was very little at this time, Ma
said, but added "the e-commerce revenue done over the system was growing rapidly".

One case in point were sales of the group`s own personal computers, 80 percent of which
were done over the Internet, Ma said. Turnover from the sale of computers rose 77
percent during the quarter, executives said but did not a specific sales figures.

Legend <0992.HK>launches TV set-top boxes
in China

BEIJING, Jan 14 (Reuters) - Legend Holdings Ltd,
China`s biggest personal computer maker, started selling
TV set-top boxes this week to link TV owners to the
Internet for stock trading and financial information, a
company official said on Friday.

Legend aimed to sell 100,000 such boxes, priced at 3,000-3,480 yuan ($362-420), this
year, the official in Beijing told Reuters.

A personal computer in China costs around 6,000 yuan. All products, which were fitted
with Microsoft technology to provide television users access to the Internet, would be sold
in China, the official said. Legend had signed a deal with the China Telecom to offer
discounted charges for its customers using the set-top boxes, the official said without
elaboration.

Securities software supplier Qianlong <8015.HK> has said it is developing a TV set-top
box that would sidestep the personal computer and could sharply expand sales of its
software in China. Qianlong says investors with 1,500 yuan and a television set would be

PCCW And Legend Jointly Offer Broadband Service And Content In China
Strategic Alliance Includes Development of Legend-NOW Computer


HONG KONG, March 2, 2000 – Pacific Century CyberWorks Ltd. (“PCCW”, stock code: 1186HKSE), the Hong Kong-listed flagship of Pacific Century Group, jointly announced today a strategic alliance with Legend Holdings Ltd. (“Legend”, stock code: 992), China’s largest computer manufacturer and distributor.

This wide-ranging agreement is designed both to accelerate the penetration of broadband Internet access across China and the distribution of PCCW’s NOW (Network of the World) interactive Internet service.

The agreement, the first between the two companies, puts two powerful Asian brands together to reach a potentially enormous customer base in the People’s Republic of China.

Legend will design and manufacture personal computers with a built-in cable modem that gives users broadband connectivity to the Internet, to be co-branded Legend-NOW, with one-touch access to the NOW network. PCCW and Legend will co-develop content and a broadband Internet service tailored for Chinese users. Legend brings to the alliance a vast distribution channel and broadband computer technology.

“One major strategy of Legend is to develop its business into the broadband area. Legend sees a huge demand and rapid growth potential of broadband product, service and content. We are very pleased to work with PCCW, the broadband technology leader in Asia,” said Legend Holdings Ltd. Chairman, Liu Chuanzhi.

“This agreement brings together two technology leaders and utilizes the strengths of both, to market the best computer, set-top box and broadband service in China,” said Richard Li, Chairman and CEO, Pacific Century Group.

The strategic alliance has three key components - the co-development of a broadband Internet service, the design, manufacture and distribution of the Legend-NOW PC, and the sharing of multimedia content through NOW.


- Broadband Internet Service for China – The high-speed Internet service will be co-developed by PCCW and Legend. The service will give consumers exceptionally fast access to the Internet and to NOW multimedia capability.

- Legend-NOW Computers bundled with exclusive broadband Internet access available across the People’s Republic of China – Legend will cooperate exclusively with PCCW to manufacture PCs with a built-in cable modem that gives users easy to use broadband Internet access. The PCs will be co-branded Legend-NOW.

- Everything Linked to NOW – PCCW’s NOW service will be bundled with Legend –NOW PCs and will be the exclusive starting page on these computers. In addition, Legend’s portal --www.fm365.com -- will provide a link to NOW.

PCCW will also establish a market development fund to promote the broadband services, access devices, and PCCW’s NOW. Legend’s research and development team, with input from PCCW, will develop set-top-boxes with features specifically designed for the Chinese market. Both the PCs and set-top-boxes will be sold through Legend’s vast sales network of over 2,000 distributors.
