RTV Family Entertainment AG: Banks and majority shareholder have not yet decided on concept for restructuring after factual insolvency
- Kirch crisis and loss on bad debts worsen Cash Flow situation - Concept for restructuring was presented to banks and majority shareholder Ravens-burger AG; Decision is expected during the course of Tuesday - Cash funds needed in case of restructuring until year-end are projected 6-7 Mill. Euro
The insolvency of Kirch Media and of co-production partner Phenomedia as well as losses from bad debts with long established foreign partners led to a rapid deterioration of the finan-cial situation of RTV Family Entertainment AG. As published on May 15th, a major Austrian Bank cancelled a committed but unused credit line of 5 Mill. Euro on the grounds of above mentioned worsening. Of the total cash funds needed in case of restructuring until year end, which are projected 6-7 Mill. Euro, RTV Family Entertainment AG has short-term needs of about one third to restore solvency. In the past few weeks RTV Family Entertainment AG helped to create a concept for restruc-turing in cooperation with independent management consultants. Since the presentation of the new business plan, the relevant management boards evaluate whether and how RTV Family Entertainment AG can continue its business. A decision is expected in the course of Tuesday.
