Shares of WorldCom (WCOM) lost nearly 60 percent of their value in Tuesday`s extended session after CNBC and The Wall Street Journal reported that the troubled telecom carrier misrepresented costs in a massive accounting fraud and will be forced to restate EBITDA for the past 5 quarters. The reports said that Worldcom`s board fired its chief financial officer and that the overstatement could be as much as $3.5 billion.
Gibt`s Aktien wieder etwas billiger
Was soll`s: WCOM ist eh` halb pleite, ein pennystock.
Wird verschwinden.
Der wird Markt bereinigt.
Gut für die anderen Teleoms!!

After The Bell-WorldCom hit on report of alleged fraud
(Updates with WorldCom stock hammered in aftermarket)
By Haitham Haddadin
NEW YORK, June 25 (Reuters) - Shares of WorldCom Inc. (NasdaqNM:WCOM - News) sank like a rock in after-hours trade on Tuesday, weighing down other issues, following a news report that the beleaguered telecommunications giant has allegedly engaged in massive fraud that may force it to file for bankruptcy.

After the news broke, equity index futures fell sharply and were painting a bleak picture for the stock market`s open on Wednesday. Nasdaq September futures fell 23 points to 1,004 and S&P futures slid 16.80 points to 957.70.
The allegations against WorldCom, if true, would be yet another huge hit to investors` confidence in Corporate America`s earnings. Wall Street has reeled under the weight of corporate misdeeds since the implosion of energy trader Enron Corp. (Other OTC:ENRNQ.PK - News; NYSE:ENE - News) months ago.
WorldCom topped the aftermarket list of decliners, plunging to 35 cents on the Instinet electronic trading system from a close of 83 cents on Nasdaq.
David Faber, a correspondent for the CNBC financial television network, quoted sources close to WorldCom as saying the company has inflated earnings before interest, depreciation, taxes and amortization, or EBIDTA, by about $3.6 billion, and will soon restate its financial statements.
WorldCom representatives were not immediately available for comment regarding these allegations.
At the top in mid-1999, WorldCom shares fetched more than $63. Over the past year, the Clinton, Mississippi-based company has struggled with lower demand and mounting debt that now totals about $30 billion. It has cut jobs, growth forecasts and come under scrutiny by federal regulators for its accounting practices and loans to its former chief executive.
A key gauge of aftermarket activity fell further, flagging a weaker open for the tech-laden Nasdaq market on Wednesday. The Nasdaq-100 After Hours Indicator extended losses, falling 7.44 points, or 0.73 percent, based on trading in the aftermarket in the technology-laden index`s biggest stocks.
In other after-hours action, General Electric Co. (NYSE:GE - News) rose a little in after-hours trade on Tuesday after the conglomerate told Wall Street it will report on Thursday that results are on track for the second quarter.
GE shares rose to $29.10 from a close of $28.90.
Among big movers, Roxio Inc. (NasdaqNM:ROXI - News) went into freefall in light after-hours trade. The company, whose software is used to burn CDs at home, slashed its quarterly earnings forecast by more than 80 percent and cut its revenue outlook. It blamed weak retail sales, particularly in Europe.
Roxio`s shares fell to $8 after-hours after sliding 2.4 percent to close at $14.95 on the Nasdaq.
In other news, Micron Technology Inc. <MU.N , the No. 2 maker of computer-memory chips, said it had a quarterly loss, continuing a string of money-losing quarters, due to a decline in memory-chip prices starting in early April through the end of the period.
Micron shares fell in the aftermarket to $18.05 from a close of $19.75.
Shares of 3Com Corp. (NasdaqNM:COMS - News) rose sharply. The company posted a narrower fourth-quarter loss, but the telecommunications spending drought sent the network equipment maker`s revenues tumbling from a year earlier.
3Com later on Tuesday said its revenues will be "challenged over the next few quarters" as the telecommunication industry`s spending slump continues. Still, 3Com shares jumped in the aftermarket to $4.45 from a close of $4.03.
Shares of Palm Inc. (NasdaqNM:PALM - News) edged up to $1.60 from a close of $1.59. The No. 1 maker of handheld computers, after the close, reported a quarterly loss on continued slack consumer demand for its pocket-sized digital organizers.
Directory services provider Metro One Telecommunications Inc. (NasdaqNM:MTON - News) rose after-hours after it raised its earnings-per-share guidance for the second quarter on Tuesday, citing improved efficiency and better operating margins.
Metro One fetched $12.34 after-hours, after plunging more than 12 percent in regular Nasdaq trade to close at $11.06.
In regular trading on Tuesday, stocks sank, with the tech-laden Nasdaq market finishing a hair above the low carved out after the Sept. 11 attacks, on worries companies` profits won`t recover soon.
The technology-laced Nasdaq Composite Index (NasdaqSC:^IXIC - News) fell 36.35 points, or 2.49 percent, to 1,423.99, according to the latest available data. That close left the Nasdaq just above the 1,423.19 closing low of Sept. 21, in the trading week after the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States.
The Dow Jones industrial average (CBOT:^DJI - News) slipped 155 points, or 1.67 percent, to 9,126.82, after rallying more than 1 percent. The broader Standard & Poor`s 500 Index (CBOE:^SPX - News) lost 16.58 points, or 1.67 percent, to 976.14.

kann man wohl sagen ! Wohin also jetzt mit der Ami-Kohle ??
Nach Europa ?....oder China ? ...etwa wieder Japan ??

Also, Ball schön flachhalten, alles bestens, Titanic sinkt.
