      Was passiert hier Anfang Juli?

      Was passiert mit Macmin??

      Bank intervention pushes gold lower
      http://search.ft.com/search/article.html?id=020628008930&que…

      Snippit:

Gold prices dipped on Friday after unexpected central bank intervention in the foreign currency markets. Japan enlisted the European Central Bank and the US Federal Reserve to help sell yen to prevent the surging Japanese currency from smothering Japan`s export-led economic recovery.

Black Blade: Intervention was inevitable as the Yen had strengthened in spite of a $5 billion infusion in the markets on Thursday. Yet the Yen continued to strengthen at one point yesterday morning the dollar bought only 118.4 Yen and threatened to fall much further (especially after George Soros comments). After the markets closed in Tokyo on Friday, the MOF requested help for the ECB and the Federal Reserve to sell Yen (remember a recent offering of Japanese bonds was sold this week to boot). Everything the Japanese have been trying is not working. In spite of all the help from the foreign central banks, the USD remains barely above 106. Japan is desperate as they realize they will be nothing more than a Third World nation soon enough. Japan has no natural resources. They import raw materials, assemble products, and export them abroad. Japan is nothing more than a factory on a couple of Islands. They exist by export. As the US and possibly other nations become more competitive with weaker currencies, the danger for Japan is obvious. However, the US dollar must weaken. The US dollar is very much overvalued and there is nothing that can stop a further weakening. Japan is in serious trouble and they know it. I expect to see increased Japanese buying of gold as a safe haven and this should accelerate toward April 1, 2003 when bank deposit insurance guarantees are removed. The fate of Japan could resemble that of Argentina in a couple of years for all we know. It surely does not look good at this point. In a word – “GRIM”.

Also sind hier natürliche Grenzen gesetzt.

      Schau ma mal.

      @HappyVienna,

Man konnte seinen Augen kaum trauen.

The fall in the bourse`s gold stocks came in the wake of a large after-market trade in New York last night, with an unnamed fund liquidating 5,000 futures contracts, a move which knocked the price first to $326/oz, then to $324/oz and finally to $321/oz, where some dealers reckon it has found support.
Interestingly, one senior Johannesburg-based trader says the long-liquidation by the fund appears to have been an intentional strategy to lower the gold price He could not give reasons for the fund`s alledged intent, although he said it could have been a move designed to lower the gold price in order to buy in again at lower levels. The sale was executed using the `Access` system on Comex, which allows for anonymous trading by large funds.

The trader said the sale was made in an illiquid market, between the New York close yesterday and the opening of the Tokyo market this morning.

"They also sold illiquid months and that pushed the price down. It was definitely someone trying to butcher the market," said the trader. The deal was done for 2,000 December contracts, a particularly thin month, and 3,000 August contracts.

Anyway, shortly after ACCESS opened, some 700,000 to 800,000 ounces were dumped. The always politically correct World Gold Council suggested in its Daily Commentary that the selling was due to technical analysis. Some analysts immediately saw the work of the Plunge Protection Team (PPT), which they say has conspired to keep the Dow Industrials from collapsing and the price of gold from skyrocketing.

      Plunge Protection Team at Work?

      Wednesday, June 5, 2002
Today, the gold market saw the price correction that many analysts, especially those with bearish biases, have been predicting since gold crossed $290. Actually, the drop started last night in the ACCESS, an electronic system operated by NYMEX where gold trades along with the Asian and the Australian markets. (ACCESS lets the New York houses keep a piece of the 24-hour gold market. NYMEX owns ACCESS, and also COMEX. ACCESS it closes 20 minutes before the outcry COMEX opens, where the exchange members make their really big money.)

The always politically correct World Gold Council suggested in its Daily Commentary that the selling was due to technical analysis.

No, na Witz, wenn jemand Kurse drücken möchte.

      Gold Manipulation Intraday Charts

Gold market observers in Europe joke about it by saying: `Good Morning America!` or `You can set your watch by it`. What happens when New York wakes up? Generally, the price of gold falls. This intraday price pattern is the result of a price manipulation that takes place in America. That is why the price so often falls when New York trading starts.

Many market participants are now aware of this price pattern. They can see it directly from the quotes or from intraday-charts. Kitco (www.kitco.com) offers such intraday-charts, including historical ones. But these are only isolated examples.

If we take many examples over a lengthy period and then build an average, we can generalize such individual cases. To do so, we take minutely quoted FOREX data over the last five years from Disk Trading ( http://disktrading.is99.com ). From them we compute the average intraday price change. The following chart thus depicts the average intraday trend in the gold price over the last few years.

      Figure 1

So Figure 1 depicts the average intraday course of the gold price over the last five years. The horizontal scale shows the time (Eastern Time). The vertical scale shows the average price-level (basis=1000). Averaging over many days makes the moves appear small in extent.

Figure 1 confirms the impression of so many gold market observers: The price falls when New York opens. Most of this downward move takes place in the first two American trading hours. So the gold price suppression is organized in America. The frequent fall in the gold price at the beginning of trading is intended to create the impression of an ongoing weak market.

The first figure spans a period of nearly five years.
During this time we had periods with rising prices and periods with falling prices. We will now examine these different periods.

We will first look at a phase of falling prices. The gold price fell from March 2000 to March 2001. The gold price suppression was thus very successful during this period. Figure 2 depicts the intraday price course during this period of falling gold prices.

      Figure 2

During this period, too, the price of gold fell in the first two trading hours. But the price continued to decline, in contrast to Chart 1, over the entire New York trading session. This indicates a completely successful manipulation.

The third Chart depicts the current situation with a rising gold price. The intraday average also shows a rising gold price.

      Figure 3

Figure 3 displays major differences as compared with Figure 2. Although the price still falls in the beginning, this fall occurs more than one hour earlier and is steeper. In addition, the price rises earlier on, i.e. during European trading hours.

The main difference, however, lies in the fact that, currently, the price then rises sharply even during New York trading session. The closing price in New York is even higher than the opening price. The manipulation is now merely discernible as a brief, but sharp drop within the intraday chart. Figure 3 provides impressive evidence of the problems involved in suppressing the gold price at present.

The average intraday trend in all of the three charts clearly reveals the suppression at the beginning of the American trading session. A glance at the entire five-year time frame in Chart 1 shows that the sharpest fall in prices occurs at 10 o`clock Eastern Time. This is the moment of the PM fixing in London. Obviously the aim is to make this important price appear depressed. During the phase of successful manipulation the intraday low appeared at New York close (Figure 2). In the last months it appeared at New York open (Figure 3).

Up to now, one could only assume that the gold price was being suppressed at the London AM fixing (at 5:30), too. Chart 1 shows that the price temporarily drops slightly at the AM fixing, too. This drop creates the visual impression of a lower price there, too.

But the fall in prices at the AM fixing is much smaller than that at the PM fixing. Harry Clawar was thus able to verify the gold price suppression in a direct manner via a statistical comparison of the price difference between the AM fixing and the PM fixing ( www.gold-eagle.com/research/clawarndx.html ). Extension of his method demonstrated that the price of gold has been manipulated since August 5, 1993 ( http://www.gold-eagle.com/editorials_01/speck022301.html ).

The gold price had previously risen by about $ 80 in summer 1993. Then the FED and the Treasury decided to suppress the gold price in order to benefit the banking system, which would otherwise have suffered huge losses as a result of short positions. A further objective was to defend the US dollar as a reserve currency within the central banking system.

Presumably, the gold price manipulation had a bearing on exchange rates, interest rates, indebtedness, money flows, the trade deficit, artificial wealth and the stock market bubble. However, these effects are almost impossible to prove, they are not precise and they turn up with a time lag, which makes the gold-price interventions appear to have commenced later than August 5, 1993. Gibson`s paradox, for instance, shows an anomaly since about 1995 ( http://www.goldensextant.com/commentary18.html#anchor196905 ). The intraday trend, on the other hand, is highly precise with its daily statistical breakpoints. Furthermore, it is directly dependent on the price manipulation pattern.

The intraday-charts verify Clawar`s method based on the price difference between the AM fixing and the PM fixing. They show details of the manipulation procedure and confirm this secret intervention. In addition, recent changes in the intraday pattern indicate the gold price suppression is coming to an end.

      @HV,

      @aneises,

Abwarten!

      Why gold was hammered lower
      pure manipulation & market control

With global sharemarkets plummeting & the US Dollar failing there was every chance that gold would have broken to new highs above $330.
This they didn`t want so they took the obvious choice.
Hammer gold lower & break the uptrend in place.

      First look at this picture:

Then look at the US Charts shown here:
      http://www.sharelynx.net/Markets/Charts/GlobalIndices.htm
      Global Indices

Globally all the markets indices across the world were plummeting fast, fear was entering the market place and it was likely that the markets would fall hard & gold would rise strong.

This would have caused gold to break past $330 and move up on a new leg to new highs.

This they could not afford to happen.

The point at where this manipulation began to happen was when the US Dollar was plummeting & the price of gold stopped rising - after the last G8 meeting last weekend.

It can readily be seen here in the following two charts.

And you can see how they`ve broken the uptrend in gold.

      US Dollar Index

      August Gold

A week ago gold was moving back up to test new highs whilst the US Dollar was falling fast.
Global sharemarkets were falling hard & the news of WorldCom hit the markets.
What happened at the G8 meeting over the weekend - what agendas were discussed?
All this week the markets rallied - the US Dollar got hammered & Gold got hammered!
Why was this point in time so necessary to defend these markets?
Well here`s my version of the story & why they (the PPT/ESF) chose to act as they did.

Timewise the global sharemarkets are almost at a cyclical bottom - almost.

Have a look at this chart of the DJIA and you can see how the cycles are of a multi-month nature.

Then take a look at my Swing chart (which measures the internal beat of the US Markets)

It`s clearly visible that the downtrend in the swing is almost at an end.

One more sharp drop down and the cycle would finish and this would tie in with the cycle of the Dow & the rest of the global markets.

So here we are poised with the markets falling into their cyclical low - almost.

The US Dollar plummeting and gold about to take out it`s old highs at $330.

Note the bottom of the Swing cycles normally occur with a sellout bottom - where fear has fools dumping stocks & panicking.

Now the Governments, Central Banks & Bullion Banks don`t want gold breaking it`s old highs just as the markets are spooking & investors reacting panicky.

The couldn`t afford to see gold jump $20 to $30 higher whilst the sharemarkets dropped 10% to their cycle low.

Not now, not with the end of the multi-month sharemarket cycle mere days away from completion.

So they deliberately knock the price of gold back down & down hard.

They need to stop the markets panicking and the move of serious money into gold.

The buying is evident in that each time the price plummets it quickly retraces much of it`s fall.

In other words they have to seriously sell the price down - to dump it hard - sell sell sell.

This selling can clearly be seen in these charts of the gold price.

And at the same time get the global markets to jump higher & sharply to act as though the cycle bottom is in and the last cycle finished.

By doing the above over the last week they have almost assured themselves that the sharemarkets will now put in a relief bear market rally.

That this rally should last for some months - the average appears around 6 months.

Remember that they managed to extend the last rally out to 10 months.

This rally would theoretically take the pressures off the share markets falling, the dollar falling & gold rising for quite some time.

The intent of this weeks moves are to deliberately make sure gold doesn`t go to new highs and to put that threat on the back burner for some months.

Be it that we get the bear market rally in stocks then the US Dollar will regain some of it power and they will use this opportunity to squash gold back even further.

      -------

So here we have motive & manipulation - perpetuated by the very same market makers & government who are currently blaming others for manipulating stocks & company accounts!!!!

The transparency of the market makers & their manipulations is becoming so blatant that many must wonder about these American markets and who is playing who for a fool.

      -------

The real test is yet ahead of us in that will Mr. Market accept that a low is in place and the bear market rally is real or will a new bout of selling soon enter the fray again.

Be it that the selling continues & the US Dollar keeps on being sold off, then one would presume that the price of gold will once again pick up it`s head.

But rest assured by the recent action that the market makers - PPT/ESF & Bullion Banks will do all in their powers to suppress the price of gold.

This gold war has only just begun
