bei der Recherche zu einer andren Kaffebude bin ich auf Whistler Investments, Inc. gestossen. Hier sich ganz gut an, vielleicht entwickelt sich hier was größeres mit wirklichen Hintergrund. Hier mal die letzte News:

Whistler Investments to Acquire Caffe Artigiano
Coffee Franchise Concept Seen as Potential Competitor to Starbucks

LAS VEGAS, NV, July 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Whistler Investments, Inc. (OTCBB: WISV - News) is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Caffe Artigiano, an upscale Italian cafe concept with two operating locations in downtown Vancouver, Canada.

Both cafes have developed a loyal following and compete very successfully with more established chains such as Starbucks. Famous for their "Latte Art", upscale atmosphere, presentation, and friendly staff, Caffe Artigiano attracts coffee connoisseurs and compliments its coffee offerings with a unique and innovative menu. Vancouver Magazine has stated that Caffe Artigiano has "the best coffee downtown...if not in the entire city." The establishments also generate revenue through the sale of Caffe clothing, wholesale coffee and handcrafted Italian majolica ceramic ware, as well as through catering.

Whistler may acquire all assets relating to the Caffe Artigiano concept, including the two existing businesses and franchising rights, for $1,121,170 (Canadian dollars). The agreement is subject to Whistler completing its due diligence review of the business by August 9, 2002.

Whistler will concurrently conduct an evaluation and feasibility study regarding the potential franchise of up to 100 stores within one year and an additional 700 stores within five years.

Stacey Fling, President of Whistler Investments, Inc. stated that, "We are very excited about this opportunity. Caffe Artigiano will bring in tremendous cash flow and will compliment the stability of Whistler`s current commercial real-estate holdings. From what we have seen, the concept looks like a winner. It competes with Starbucks head to head, and once a feasibility study confirms this, we will work diligently to make our five year business plan a reality."

Die Meldung kam am 16.07 einen Tag nach dem ATH, der Markt
scheint momentan nicht so gut auf Coffee zu reagieren.

40 Mio Aktien wurden für die AZRA Übernahme ausgegeben und sind restricted. weitere 3 Mio sind res. Authorized 78 Mio.
Issued 48,5 Mio. Float bei ca. 5 Mio. Nicht mehr viel Luft
nach oben. IMHO

soweit bin ich noch nicht mit meinen Recherchen. Danke für den Tip Soweit ich weiss, wollen die 100 Shops in einem und insgesamt 700 Shops aufmachen. Wollen! Die Franchisegebühr beträgt pro Shop 50K Dollar. Das Shoppingcenter in Vegas soll 42K gross revenues bringen.

Werde das weiter verfolgen, mal sehen was kommt. Die täglichen Umsätze sind gering, aber wer weiss, was noch kommt. Der Freefloat ist ebenfalls gering und das könnte irgendwann mal bedeuten, das es heftige KUrssprünge geben kann.

Wo wollen die das Geld hernehmen um 100 Shops zu eröffnen ?
Schau dir doch mal die Bilanz im 10K an.

Wo sie das hernehmen wollen, weiss ich noch nicht, aber die werden wohl was im Köcher, oder aus den Einnahmen des Shoppingcenters die erste Anschubfinanzierung klar machen.

hmm, als teetrinker kann ich mich folgenden eindrucks nicht erwehren:

gewinner in der kaffebranche:

1. ehemalige SBUX aktionäre
2. CEOs, die erkannt haben, daß man viel kohle mit leuten machen kann, die auf der suche nach einer 2. SBUX sind
3. die kaffetrinker, da größere auswahl (1745. sorte, 1746. sorte...)
4. mit viel glück ein anleger, der zum richtigen zeitpunkt aktien der CEOs aus 2. kauft und auch wieder verkauft (schließlich fällt keine aktie linear)

vielleicht macht w:o ja bald ein kaffeeboard auf?

bin ebenfalls Teetrinker und auf die Company nur gestossen, weil diese andere Bude, zum Leidwesen vieler Mitleser, so in den Vordergrund gerückt wurde. Ob aus WISV was wird, weiss ich nicht. Auf jeden Fall hab ich sie auf der Watchlist und wenns mal losgehen sollte bin ich dabei.


Glaube auch nicht, dass Starbucks wiederholt werden kann, aber es gibt kleinere Betrieb, die ganz gut laufen, z.B. Woyton.
