TRINTECH GROUP PLC ANNOUNCES THE DEPARTURE OF ITS PRESIDENT

DUBLIN, Ireland / DALLAS, Texas – September 17, 2002 – Trintech Group PLC (Nasdaq: TTPA; Neuer Markt: TTP), a leading provider of secure payment infrastructure solutions, today announced that John McGuire has decided to resign as President and Director of the Company with immediate effect. John is departing to pursue other personal interests.

"John has been an important part of the Company for over 15 years and we would like to extend our thanks for his commitment and contribution over this period and wish him every success in his future pursuits" said Cyril McGuire, Chairman and CEO on behalf of the Board of Directors.

The Company does not have any immediate plans to replace the Group`s position of President.
