Company Profile:
China Online provides data communication services and wireless communication services in Hong Kong and greater China and plans to be a major Internet company in greater China. It is 47.32 percent owned by China Strategic Holdings Ltd <0235.HK> and 7.42 percent owned by Pacific Century Regional Development and holds 3.45 percent of Pacific Century CyberWorks Ltd <1186.HK>.
China Online (0383) announced that, the company acquired 120 million shares of Sun Hung Kai Company (0086) during the period from 6 January to 25 January, representing 10.5% stakes. The share price was between $1.1 and $2.225 each, the amount being $240 million in total. The announcement stated that the company did not require to join the Board of Directors of Sun Hung Kai Company.
We believe the takeover of China Online (COL) by China Sci Tech, a company controlled by Stanley Ho, is likely to lead to a series of major corporate restructuring exercises which will refocus the group towards new PRC Internet and telecoms investments. The sale of a 32.8% stake to China Sci Tech becomes effective from 28 January. We expect COL`s new management team might take the opportunity to spell out expansion plans then.
China Online (previously Star Telecom) had its origins as a handset distributor and was an early ISP player. However, the group soon acquired a series of assets, the most important being a stake in Pacific Century Cyberworks last year. The 200mn PCCW shares were reportedly acquired at below $8.00 a share.
In addition, the group has built up a cash pile of $700mn. Debt levels are believed to be negligible. Management said COL is a net lender to the interbank market. The large cash pile certainly suggests COL is well positioned to go on an acquisition spree for new telecoms and Internet investments in China and Hong Kong.
Other PRC projects that have been carried over from the previous management include an option to acquire a 35% interest in a CDMA network in Beijing and Shanghai and a 55:45 interest in a mobile handset distribution business in North and Northeastern China with Hikari Tsushin. The latter JV has 180 sales points and is said to be profitable. Preliminary discussions have begun regarding the potential expansion of the distribution network to 1,000 outlets.
Finally, COL is one of the two largest distributors of Nokia handsets in Hong Kong. COL represents the whole range of models. Management is talking with Nokia about setting up a separate service centre for its customers.

Also ihr habt mich überzeugt!!!Morgen steige ich klein bei COL ein und
kauf dann langsam nach....bin mal gespannt was draus wird. Dein Kursziel
hört sich wirklich verlockend an aber glaubst du nicht es ist etwas sehr
stark optimistisch gesehen? Mich würde mal interessieren was für Kurs-
erwartungen du langfristig hast.

Also ich bin auch COL-Aktionär und für die Zukunft sehr positiv gestimmt, aber bitte: Ein Kursziel von 2.5Euro für Ende 2000 halte ich für weit übertrieben!!! Ich weiss nicht, ob es das Ziel der COL-Aktionäre sein sollte, mit Kursversprechungen in utopischer Höhe die andere Leute davon zu überzeugen die Aktie zu kaufen....
Ich würde mich sehr freuen, wenn es die 2,5Euro werden sollten, aber denke ich sollten wir realistisch bleiben...Langsam steigt der Kurs und macht uns alle glücklich...

Solche Kursziele sind einfach utopisch und entspringen lediglich einer großen Gier. Bin selbst COL-Aktionär, wäre aber schon sehr sehr froh, irgendwann die 10 Cents-Marke zu überspringen!

Jetzt wo PCCW aus dem Handel genommen wurde und wahrscheinlich bei Wiederaufnahme explodiert, kann man sich CO zulegen. Der innere Wert der CO nimmt mit der "Explosion" der PCCW proportional zu. Allerdings steht der Kurs im Moment in HK sehr hoch. Wenn man zu 5 Cent reinkommt unbedingt zuschlagen, das ist mittlerweile schon der faire Preis.
Wieso ist 5 cent ein fairer Kurs? Hast wohl noch keinen Kaffee getrunken? Werd endlich wach! Die 5 cent gehören seit heute der Vergangenheit an, HongKong ist weit drüber!

sagt mir doch bitte mal eine adresse, wo ich sehen kann,
wie z.b. COL oder auch andere aktien vorbörslich gehandelt werden?
sprich vor der eröffnung an der börse in hongkong (taxe)
ich möchte gerne wissen, wie COL wahrscheinlich eröffnen wird!
danke im voraus, sollte es denn sowas geben?????

Besteht die Möglichkeit, nochmal für 0,05 Euro nachzukaufen oder sollte man lieber bei 0,06 zuschlagen, bevor die 0,07 erreicht sind? In Hongkong dürfte es nach so einem Anstieg ja auch erstmal Gewinnmitnahmen geben, oder?

Wer jetzt nicht kauft, dem ist wirklich nicht mehr zu helfen. Da spielt es keine Rolle, ob der Kurs 0,05 oder 0,06 Euro beträgt. In HongKong ist der Kurs bei Rekordvolumen über den Widerstand von 0,36 HK$ gegangen. Dies ist charttechnisch ein eindrucksvolles Kaufsignal. Im übrigen wurde China Online am Freitag in New York (OTC: unter COBVF) bereits im Hoch bei 0,50 § (!!!!!!!) gehandelt. Auch wenn dies derezeit wohl noch etwas übertrieben sein dürfte, so zeigt es eindeutig, wohin die Reise geht.
Stimme dir vol zu Milo. Den Faktor USA muss man auch mit einkalkulieren und die waren uns schon immer ein Schritt vorraus. Von daher kann sich jeder denken, wo es weiter hingehen wird. In den weiten NORDEN!
So jetzt bin ich für 0.06 dabei und freu mich erstmal........

morgen noch nen Kursrückgang? Und was wird passieren wenn PCCW wieder
zum Handel einsetzt? Zieht COL mit oder stagniert?

im moment bin ich sehr kurzfristig orientiert und habe EMB(919810) & SPAZ(892725) in mein depot gesteckt...
Nun bin ich am grübeln, ob ich nicht in china online einsteigen soll da in diesem wert kurzfristig mehr drin stecken könnte als bei den oben genannten...

ACHTUNG !!!! Heute Gewinn mitnehmen und Morgen wieder kaufen !!!! COL muss heute zwangsläufig um mindestens 10% fallen. Der Kurs ist in HK um 7% gefallen und nun bestehst zw. den dt. Kursen und denen in HK ein Gefälle von man sage und schreibe 27%. Wittert Ihr denn nicht die Gefahr ??? Heute wird die Aktie abstürzen, aber morgen schon an die gestrigen Kurse anknüpfen können - ALLES ANDERE IST TOTALER BLÖDSINN UND SCHÖNTRÄUMEREI
Auf dem Consors-Board gibt es einen Thread, daß COL in HK vom Handel ausgesetzt ist.
Die Begründung scheint mir ganz glaubwürdig zu sein, außerdem finde ich im Intraday-Chart auch keine aktuellen Kurse mehr...

Ich glaube nie mehr etwas aus dem Consors-Board.
Auch im Intraday finde ich wieder Kurse, auch wenn sie mir nich gefallen (sind bereits über 12% im Minus)
