      China Prosperity International Holdings Limited
2/14/00 - $81Million Exclusive Medical Satelite Broadcasting Deal
      HOMEX - Melbourne
      -------------------------
$81m Exclusive Medical Satelite Broadcasting Deal

A new satellite communications agreement worth A$81.2 million has
further propelled Australian-listed China Prosperity International
Holdings Limited along its path of becoming a major program,
television, movie and video-based supplier in mainland China.

Subject to final approvals, the deal will give China Prosperity
exclusive rights to broadcast satellite-based medical education
programs by the second half of this year to more than 5.6 million
healthcare personnel and physicians undertaking studies in China.

To consolidate the group`s business, China Prosperity has sold its
loss-making thermal power plant in northern China for net proceeds of
      A$40 million.

China Prosperity`s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Gareth Tang, said
today the medical education deal had sparked considerable market
      interest.

"We believe the agreement is behind the more than doubling of China
Prosperity`s share price over recent days, leading to yesterday`s
      temporary trading suspension."

The Company also announced today it had consolidated its interest in
a general programming distribution business with exclusive rights to
provide cable TV services to 180,000 subscribers at Baoding,
      140-kilometres southwest of Beijing.

Under the latest agreements, interests associated with China
      Prosperity have:

      * Purchased the remaining equity share of Solar Touch Limited for
A$16.1 million, delivering a 49% holding in Baoding Pascali
Broadcasting TV Integrated Information Networking Company Limited
      (the Baoding cable TV provider) and;

      * Acquired a 51% interest in Worthope Technology Group Co Ltd, which
has an 80% interest in a company with Government-endorsement to
provide medical education systems via satellite throughout China.

China Prosperity last month announced the acquisition of its initial
50% share of Solar Touch for A$17.3 million.

Worthope Technology`s major asset is its 80% holding in Beijing
Worthope Saiteng Network Technology Co Ltd.

This is a sino-foreign joint venture developing network technologies
and providing technology-related services, training, production and
sales of computer software and hardware.

Mr Tang said a major tele-education project planned by the joint
venture and endorsed by China`s Ministry of Health would provide
significant scope for further development and income growth.

"The `China Satellite Tele-Health for Education Network` will offer
educational facilities to medical professionals throughout China via
      satellite," Mr Tang said.

"These healthcare professionals are required to complete certain
level of credits for continuing education and they will achieve this
through accessing the joint venture`s health education network."

Mr Tang said the joint venture forecast annual gross revenue of A$576
      million from the satellite network.

He said proceeds from the power plant sale would see A$20 million
assigned to the development of the Company`s television program,
movie and video production business with a further A$12 million
financing the Group`s ongoing alterations and fit-out contracting
      operations.

China Prosperity has other interests in Hong Kong and mainland China,
covering corn processing and tourism infrastructure.
