KABUL + KANDAHAR (AZZAM): A total of 23 coalition troops were killed and several others injured in attacks and ambushes, which occurred in various provinces of Afghanistan. Unknown attackers stabbed and killed three US commandos near the `Kabul Door` in Kandahar while another soldier was seriously injured. A large search operation was started immediately after this attack.

A little while later, around 110 miles south of Kabul, 5 rockets were fired at the Lowara military base. One of the rockets was reported to have hit a bunker. The attackers were arrested and shifted to unknown place.

In Waradat, the birth village of Hamid Karzai, a US military vehicle was attacked with hand grenades and machine guns. As a result of this ambush three US and two local Afghan troops were killed. Soon after this, US soldiers arrested eight men as suspects of this attack.

In the district of Chora, two American servicemen were killed by unknown gunmen. A US military vehicle was destroyed when it struck a land mine, killing two US and three Afghan soldiers. Thus far, military officials have not given any details of these deaths.

In the area of Baorhi, near the Kandahar airbase, an American tank exploded when it struck a land mine. The number of casualties in this incident was not disclosed. Eight Afghan soldiers were killed in several small skirmishes around Kandahar and Kabul.

U.S. Helicopter Crashes in Kunar

KUNAR (AZZAM):One US helicopter crashed in the Afghan Eastern Province of Kunar. This helicopter was destroyed in the Sheegal region of Kunar which is adjacent to the Chitral borders of Pakistan. The area was covered by a thick fog, and visibility was poor when the US helicopter crashed into a tree, killing everyone on board. The helicopter was carrying US troops who were taking part in a fresh operation against Taliban, Al-Qaida and Hizb-e-Islami operatives.

Later on in Khost, Mujahideen forces targetted a US helicopter but it was not shot down. As usual a search operation by the US troops was performed following the attack, but no reports of any arrests have been made.

Khost Airport Devastated By Barrage of Mujahideen Missiles

KHOST (AZZAM): The Mujahideen fired five missiles at three am on Tuesday night at the older Khost airport building. All five missiles hit the central portion of the airport, and as such heavy loss of life is expected. However, at present the loss of life is not being disclosed by the Coalition troops.

Nine Coalition Troops Killed in Mujahideen Ambush

Shahi Kot(AZZAM): In the Shahi Kot region of Paktia Province nine troops were killed and six received serious injuries when US soldiers were ambushed. The attackers managed to escape safely after this operation. Most of the dead in this attack were US commandos. Although no official details have been released by the US forces about this incident.

Heavy U.S. and Coalition Casualties Occured as U.S. Military Camp in Khost Rocked with Massive Explosions and Severe Mujahideen Attacks

KHOST (AZZAM): Massive explosions rocked the US military camp in South eastern Afghan province of Khost. The intensity of explosions could be judged from the fact that buldings and houses to some 20 km distance from the camp were also damaged, with a large number of US and coalition casualties is expected.

At about 11:30 AM on Tuesday, massive and continuous explosions started just after five minutes of a missile attack launched by Mujahideen over the Sahara Garden US military camp. These explosions were heard from long distances. These explosions occured in ammunition depo at the camp where US troops kept large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives. Also the ammunition recovered during US campaign in Afghanistan was kept in this depo.

There were reports that a martyrdom operation also occured immediately after the missile attack and a car hit the Sahara Garden US camp but this has not yet been verified. Due to the intensity of the of the explosions and fire it is expected that US and coalition troops sustained heavy loss of lives. Many US warplanes and helicopters also took off from the base to avoid the destruction caused by massive explosions and fire at the base.
