Wie die meisten vielleicht mitbekommen haben findet am 21.11.2002 ein Shareholder Meeting statt. Leider ist der Termin nicht für alle realisierbar.
Ich habe mit David Chen Kontakt aufgenommen und er bietet jedem der nicht teilnehmen kann ein Treffen am Samstag an. Es wird um ca. 9.00 Uhr stattfinden.
So wird weiteren Shareholdern die Chance geboten David persönlich kennenzulernen.

Sollte jemand daran Interesse haben, dann sollte er mich bitte per Mail anschreiben, damit ich die Teilnehmerzahl weitergeben kann und die Räumlichkeiten gebucht werden können. ([e-mail])

Wie sehen eure Termine am 23. Nov. aus?

Ich habe extra mit Hartcourt geschrieben und mich dafür eingesetzt, daß das Meeting am Samstag stattfindet. Daher hätte ich mit mehr Resonanz gerechnet.

Das Angebot von David ist doch klasse.

Für Antworten wäre ich sehr dankbar.

Ich denke der große Hype ist einfach vorbei und die wenigen, die noch da sind, sehen wohl noch passiv zu was mit dem Rest der Aktien und der Firma passiert (mich eingeschlossen). Volle Räume dürften wohl bei jedem der Termine nur Wunschträume sein. Trotzdem, schön dass es noch Leute gibt die sich kümmern und versuchen das Möglichste herauszuholen.

Ich denke der Hppe steht noch bevor. Man muß nur die Augen öffnen, dann kann man es doch sehen. Manchmal ist es sinnvoll still zu sein, aber manchmal wäre eine Antwort schon besser.

Wenn ich gewußt hätte, daß bei einem Ausweichtermin sowieso keiner kommt (was meiner Meinung nach vorher anders klang), dann hätte ich mir die Arbeit sparen können. Diejenigen, mit denen ich nach Frankfurt fahre, hätten auch ein persönliches Gespräch mit David haben können. Dazu wäre es nicht notwendig gewesen den Verantwortlichen von Hartcourt noch unnötig mit Arbeit zu belasten.

In ein paar Monaten werden die sog."STILLEN" am lautesten schreien. Dann auf einmal gab es für sie keine Zweifel.
So ist es und so wird es immer sein.

ich bin ebenso der meinung dein bemühen zu würdigen. aber du solltest nicht ausser acht lassen dass nur wenige hartcourt-anleger 1999-2001 seriös waren. die wenigen die übrig sind müßen, psychologisch betrachtet, an ihr investment glauben sonst müßten sie sich eingestehen den ausstieg verpasst zu haben. ich bin `damals` bei 0.60 rein und nach dem hype bis $19 auch erst bei 2.60 raus.
selbstverstädnlich ist mein interesse an hartcourt danach sehr stark gesunken - ist einfach zuviel falsch gelaufen und zuviel versprochen worden!
also gehe nicht davon aus dass die leute verrückt sind danach cheng zu begegnen: die treffen mit phan `damals` haben auch nichts gebracht ausser den heutigen frust.
trotzdem viel glück allen dies noch immer wagen.

Bin ganz deiner Meinung,HRCT hat auch nichts gelernt,warum auch,die Herren haben doch schon genug abgezockt,man braucht sich ja nur mal die ständige Verwässerung der ausstehenden Aktien anzuschauen wobei der Free Float auch immer höher wird.

Die Herren halten Meetings und versuchen immer noch Anleger zu finden für Aktien die sie selbst nicht haben wollen oder schon längst verkauft haben,warum wohl,die Herren Manager können ihre Aktienoptionen garnicht schnell genug loswerden.

Und mit Altersvorsorge meinte ich, daß ihr uns unsere Aktien bei 50US$ oder mehr abnehmt. Dann setzten wir uns zur Ruhe und ihr müßt welche suchen, die eure wieder abnehmen. So ist halt das Leben. Das werdet ihr noch erfahren.

Das Du Deinen Senf dazu geben mußt, war fast klar und vorbestimmt. Von der Karibik und dem ganzen SCHWACHSINN hast doch Du und DEINESGLEICHEN rumgefaselt. Schon vergessen Deine Bacardy-Insel ? Nein, mit Deiner permanenten Pusherei hast villeicht Du Geld gemacht, jedoch das Geld anderer verbrannt. Da ich von HRCT nicht viele Aktien hatte, ist mein Verlust nicht erwähnenswert. Mach Dir also bitte keine Sorgen. Unsichere Posten kaufe ich nicht zu Hauf, auch wenn sie ein L_Ü_G_O wärmstens empfielt.
Mein Stil ist immer noch angesagt, da solche Leute wie Du ihren "Stil" auch weiterhin pflegen. Und wer bis jetzt Recht hatte, zeigt wohl eindeutig die Vergangenheit, oder ?
Also, ist das ein Zeichen, daß DU die Lage nicht beurteilen kannst.

Hello all!..Just got back home and thought I`d throw a short post out there to let y`all know how the meeting went..

To begin with I`d have to say we are very fortunate to have David Chen leading the way..He is just exactly what Hrct needs at this point and time...He is smart, funny and has great communication skills...With his backround in media (CNN for 5 years) he knows how important a PR program can be to our company...

First things first..Hrct has only a few people that control the deal making as well as keeping all the Hrct companies moving in the same direction...As David stated, that is one reason Dr. Phan didn`t make the trip..Hrct does not want to leave China without one or the other being there to respond to the folks they are dealing with..in any aspect of the business..At this important stage of the game you don`t want to leave anyone hanging for a week...

David Chen began his presentation by talking about the vast possibilities in China and how much progress is being made in such a short time since the WTO approval..As laws change there are more opportunities for Hrct to expand and improve...Shanghai is obviously the place Hrct needs to be..The city has been under constant construction for years and is slated to be the economic center of China...We were each given a DVD interactive video that talks about the incredible growth and vitality of this newly revamped city...We also received copies of David Chen`s presentation and will be available at the Hrct web site..

As David tried to proceed with his presentation he was interrupted frequently by a shareholder that wanted his particular questions answered...David was remarkably unmoved by these interruptions and answered each of the gentlemen`s questions directly with tact and humor...He has a whole lotta patience...

A few interesting topics were discussed..Enova was brought up and explained in a clear concise manner...I don`t have Enova shares so I am not very familiar with the situation..In short Enova is a shell that Hrct was to use at a future date..Pego filed suit against Enova and won a judgement of 2 million (I believe that was the number)...So now if Hrct wanted to use Enova they would have to cough up the 2 million...Of course that won`t happen..imo..A shell is not worth paying such a high price..So the chances of Enova being used in the future is slim...On the other hand Hrct learned a valuable lesson in the early days..

John Furutani is also an excellent man to have in Hrct`s corner..His is totally on top of every aspect of Hrct`s business and his presence was an unexpected bonus...He assisted David on many topics and gave straight forward, to the point, responses..

The ETLK shares are to be delivered within a ten day period..This came directly from David and John and they seemed very confident that this would occur...The shares will be restricted until Jan 1, 2004....I asked a question about the future prospects of ET..I said that if Hrct just spins off these companies and they just sit at .06 and everyone tries to unload at the same time, I probably wouldn`t be able to sell anything...What good would the dividend be?..They stated that ET has not fared any better than anyone else in that particular sector, even though they ARE widely known in the Hong Kong area....But that Hrct doesn`t run the operation, Russelle Choi does and that he has plans to develop ET further in the coming months and that we will be happy with the end result..I am looking forward to seeing what will happen with ETLK..If they can improve their shareprice it will be a great reflection on Hrct spin off process...and that part of Hrct`s business will become even more attractive...

The informative questioning took much longer than anyone thought...(Much of it a rehash of old stuff for the benifit of those that weren`t up to speed..)We then had a nice lunch and just socialized for a couple more hours...Great group of people and the weekend was well worth the loooong flight...

As for the news about the "Big" company?...Nothing, and I mean nothing! could be talked aboutthat issue, but by the way David talked about the future of Hrct and how we will grow I could see the excitement in his eyes...One note I might add...He talked about possible companies that Hrct can spin off for the Chinese government..One of which manufactures toothpaste!.(nothing final on which companies Hrct will take on)..Not a little company though..They manufacture more toothpaste for the people in China, than Colgate does in the US!...and there are many companies like this that the China government MUST get privatized in the next few years...What a task!..What an opportunity!..

All in all I think Hrct is getting ready to turn the corner soon...and what better person to have at the lead then a guy with sooo much media backround...When the time is right David WILL get the word out..And he knows what he`s doing in that reguard...

Hrct still plans on being profitable by the first Quarter...That`s the goal and they believe they will make it...This is THE most important time in Hrct`s young life...jmho

Well....glad I took the time to sift through the posts ---- help me be a little more condensed. Not a great deal of anything new/different to what Tin already posted...but, f/w/i/w......

A couple of clarifying pieces to stuff posted or replies to stuff posted:

GENERAL SHM observations = we had 13 attendees and 10 of which stayed for the informal lunch discussion. The formal portion of the meeting was conducted by David Chen w/ support by John Furutani. I found David`s communication skills to be excellent....in both content/clarity ===== there is NO language barrier w/ this guy !! David conducted the formal proxy voting approval portion of the meeting and then went into his presentation......everyone was provided a copy of his presentation material (and this will also be posted on HRCT website for everyone). During the presentation there were several questions which were raised......I did not make notes of all of them, but will attempt to cover just a few of the key areas.......note several SH had questions around the same subject matter.....and a couple of late attendees had David repeating a few things:
Q = HRCT website quality ie. links don`t work, outdated information etc.
R = Both David & John were open and adamant about the need for improvement there......along with just a more thorough/comprehensive way of communicating with the shareholders on an "as need" basis ie. back to email distribution list, etc. There was also some discussion on the Lexington P/R experience. David stated that it was just something that did not work out and was to big a job for them with other `start-up` things which were going on. My perspective on this is Hartcourt simply (by need / not choice) has to make critical decisions on WHERE/HOW to budget $$$$$$/people.....the website was pressed down the list ! I did come away from the meeting w/ a feeling that both David / John were very focused on improving this area....especially SH communication.

Q = ETLK spinoff / general business condition of ETLK/sector.
R = David spoke quite effectively on the benefits of the spinoff ie. fulfilling the strategic business plan execution & the overall telecom sector debacle. It was nothing new or intuitive.....the same thing you`d get reading about WorldCom, Nortel, etc. He did go on to say that Russell Choi and the ETLK team has a focused game plan & to look for improvement w/ ETLK going forward -------- and ------- both John/David made reference to the spinoff being a RIGHT move !

There were several people who wanted to know WHY there was no longer a business office in L.A. (note the Pasadena address on many websites is the office of John Furutani). David explained the reasons WHY all the business operations were moved to Shanghai ---- and the intended benefits ie. cost savings, closer to the operating companies, closer to the customers, closer to the partners. One of more shareholders again reflected on the inability to contact anyone locally if they had a question about something ----- David`s response was that they would improve the SH communication process.....and....right now the best way was to funnel it directly to him via his email address (which I think wenny.he administers for him).

Probably more prudent to just ask all of you interested to review the "presentation deck" which David spoke to once it`s posted on the HRCT board. I think that will provide many of the "forward look" answers to questions you might have ------ and, I think we`ll also hear from some of the Miami, NY and Frankfurt meeting attendees too. If I could summarize w/ a few points (trying to prioritize them as well):

1. HRCT is alive and well.....having weathered some of the most difficult financial, market, world affairs impact during past several years.

2. Game plan (to a greater degree) remains intact ie. continue to spinoff, merge, sell existing operating companies which provide financial benefits (dividend) to HRCT shareholders. While at the same time evaluating other "fits" for the company w/ the parameters being: high revenues / profitability / category leadership and accretive to the business immediately.

3. Strategic advantages need to be leveraged while doing it
in the most `cost effective` way w/ limited resources. Which no doubt will bring with it some "curves in the road" ---- to that I say "live with it" !

4. Full court press towards corporate profitability !

5. and finally, two personal "aha`s" --------- HRCT shareholder base @ an all-time high was approx. 14,000 ----
it currently stands @ 12,000 ! HRCT believes this strong shareholder base is a strategic advantage & one which they can build from. And........DAVID CHEN is a huge acquisition to leading this team === RIGHT guy / RIGHT time / RIGHT place !

If anyone has any specific questions, let us know and we`ll attempt to answer them.......if they were discussed at SHM.
