(Infocast News) The Sun`s Group Limited (0988) announced to have received demand letters and notices of receivership from two secured creditors, namely CITIC Ka Wah Bank and Industrial and Commercial International Capital Limited (ICIC) for full repayment of secured loans of a sum of approximately $137 million together with interest accrued thereon and five unsecured creditors for unsecured payments of a sum of approximately $84 million.

The trading of the stock will be resumed this morning.

Given the existing poor leasing market, the company believed that it should have little difficulty in renting its office with reasonable rental. The company is contemplating to negotiate with the unsecured creditors to come up with a possible debt repayment arrangement. The possible fund raising exercises, alternative repayment methods and a debt restructuring scheme are being considered. Baron Capital Limited has been appointed as the financial adviser of the company on such matters.

If such fund raising exercises, and alternative repayment methods or debt restructuring scheme do not proceed or are not successful, it is likely that the creditors will proceed with legal actions against the company, which may include taking possession of the collaterals and lodging petition(s) to wind up the relevant member(s) of the company.

The company received notices of receivership from receivers appointed by CITIC Ka Wah Bank on the mortgaged properties comprising car parking spaces, and certain premises of The Sun`s Group Centre in Wanchai, Hong Kong. The aggregate book value of these properties was approximately $130 million as at 31 December, 2001.

The company also received demand letters from ICIC according to which the company is required to repay the ICIC loan in full while the 29th and 30th floors of the Sun`s Centre are the collateral of the ICIC loan with an aggregate book value of approximately $73 million as at 31 December, 2001. The ICIC loan of $42 million together with the interest accrued thereupon have not yet been repaid. No legal action has been taken by ICIC to date.

(Infocast News) The Sun`s Group (0988) announced that a wholly owned subsidiary of it and it received an originating summons from Industrial and Commercial International Capital Ltd (ICIC) last Friday demanding for repayment of a loan of approximately $42 million together with interest accrued and delivery of vacant possession of certain mortgaged properties.

Trading in the shares of the company will be resumed today.

The loan was guaranteed by The Sun`s Group. If the group fails to satisfy the demands from ICIC, the loan may take possession of the mortgaged properties and sell such properties accordingly and the group will then negotiate with ICIC for renting the existing office at the 29th and 30th floors of The Sun`s Group Centre.

The Board considers there is no material impact on the group`s operation.

The company believes that the loan can be fully discharged by the proceeds from the sale of the mortgaged properties. The mortgaged properties had an aggregate book value of approximately $73 million as at 31 December, 2001.

Müssen wahrscheinlich ihre Immobilien verscherbeln, damit sie ihre Schulden abbauen können. Sieht leider nicht gut aus für unsere Perle, aber ich hab sie immer noch nicht ganz abgeschrieben.

Hi Leute, habe ein paar aktuelle Infos ausgegraben:

The Company has received an offer from an independent potential
investor on 27 February 2004 for subscription of new shares of the
Company, conditional on, amongst others, resumption of trading,
creditors approval on a debt restructuring plan and relevant
shareholders approval. The Company is still in negotiation with
respective creditors for a possible debt restructuring plan and
therefore independent potential investor may or may not proceed with
the subscription of new shares of the Company.

At the request of the Company, trading in the shares of the Company has
been suspended since 24 April, 2003 pending for the further
announcement regarding the latest development of the Group and will
remain suspended until further notice.
