Irgendwie merkwürdig ist das schon: Nachdem die Aktie nun nach vier Monaten gerade wieder gehandelt wird, gibt Adultshop einen vorläufigen Forderungsausfall bekannt. Die Kreditkartengesellschaft hat 500.000 A$ nicht überwiesen und stattdessen erklärt, diese Summe solle stückchenweise in den nächsten Monaten überwiesen werden. Die Gesamtsumme der offenen Forderungen ( "Receivables" ) von Adultshop gegenüber dieser Kreditgesellschaft beträgt gut 2 Mio.A$. Nun will Adultshop die Kreditkartengesllschaft wechseln ...

The Company has recently experienced delays in receipt of funds from its primary credit card processor with respect to its online erotic entertainment division. An amount of US$500,000 that had been scheduled for payment by the processor last week has not been received. As a result, the Company expects that net operating cash flow for the month of February 2003 will be in the range of $200,000 to $300,000.
The processor has since advised that amounts due to the Company will be released gradually over the next several months. The total amount owed to the Company by the processor at 31 January 2003 is US$2.04million. The Company is seeking further clarification and is attempting to agree on a specific repayment schedule over a defined period.
Consequently, the Company has taken steps to change its primary credit card processor. The Company has had a long standing commercial relationship with this new primary processor.

Mir ist ein Fehler unterlaufen: Es handelt sich insgesamt nicht um einen Betrag von 2 Mio.A$ an offenen Forderungen gegenüber dieser Kreditkartengesellschaft, sondern um 2 Mio.US$ (wie ASC selbst schreibt). Das entspricht in etwa 3,3 Mio.A$. Beim konkreten vorläufige Forderungsausfall handelt es sich entsprechend auch nicht um 500.000 A$, sondern um 500.000 US$, was in etwa 840.000 A$ entspricht.

CREDIT card processors have proved the bane of AdultShop.com`s life since the company first decided to outsource the billing operations for its online pornography business in September last year. At the time, AdultShop said the outsourcing to third party processors was necessary to protect the "long-term integrity and profitability" of the online porn division - the number one driver of revenue and profits for the company.
But the new system threw up problems straight away, with tighter membership requirements that, among other things, eliminated members from certain countries and banned free email accounts. In November, the company conceded it had underestimated the extent of the problems and was forced to slash its reported June 30 profit by nearly a third and drop its December cash forecast by $2 million.
Despite what appear to be continuing serious problems with the outsourcing model, the company insists it remains the only practical way to deal with credit card transactions - but the nature of the transactions between the third party processors and the online business is open to a host of potential problems.
The main driver of internet traffic to AdultShop`s online pornography empire are webmasters, and the company admits payments to webmasters are one of its biggest costs. Internet users who wish to sign up as members to AdultShop`s websites then provide their information to the third-party credit card processor. If they are accepted, the processor charges the member`s credit card with the membership fee and then sends the money on to AdultShop - after the processor deducts a reserve amount and its own fees.
The processor can use the reserve amount to cover charge-backs, refunds and fines. AdultShop records the membership fee and reserve amount as revenue in its books after receiving notification from the processor, but makes a provision for the reserve held by the processor. Underestimating that provision, or finding that reserves have shrivelled, can then reverberate through revenue flows and profit results. AdultShop outsources its credit card processing to more than one processor.

Naja ich habe nur Spielgeld eingesetzt. jetzt überlege ich ob ich 11% Verlust realisieren soll oder drinbleibe und zittere wie so viele ASC Aktionäre vor mir.

Puh, was bin ich froh gestern wieder raus zu sein. 11,8% Verloren aber heute hat der Schrott auf 0.06 AU$ geschlossen.
Gier frisst Hirn, aber ich konnte mir beim bestenWillen nicht vorstellen, dass ASC so weit fällt. Boden ist noch keiner in Sicht.
