toller Titel vom jungen Robert Zimmermann, wenn auch nicht direkt ein Love Song
Then in comes his daughter whose name was Rita.
She looked like she stepped out of La Dolce Vita.

Hi Iguana
... Glückwunsch ... !!!
und zur Feier des Tages ... für dich ...
Queensryche
doin` fine
Have you noticed The way people seem today?
Look in their eyes, you can feel their uncertainty.
Working hard for what they fear others would think.
Empty hearts are afraid to break away:don`t be afraid.
We could all use a little sunshine
Take the day off :outside.
Hey look around, everything`s better now
And here we are and we`re doin` fine.
If we look inside, breath deep, and count to ten.
We`ll find what we need to see us through
All the way to the end.
We`ll know all the answers
Once we stop this judgment game
And realize deep down we`re all the same.
We could all use a little sunshine
Take the day off and smile.
Hey look around everything`s better now,
And here we are and getting along fine.
Yeah, we`re doin` just fine.
We could all use some sunshine
Take the day off and smile.
Hey look around, everything`s better
And here we are getting along just fine.
Next time we could try a little harder
And quickly put out the fire,
By working out our differences and
Finding truth we can all believe in.
We`re looking at life from a different side.
We`re looking at like from a different side.
And I know that we`ll all be fine.
And I know that we`ll all be fine.

Tir Na Nog
We were standing in the kingdom
And by the mansion gate
We stood enraptured by the silence
As the birds sang their heavenly song
In Tir Na Nog.
We stopped in the church of Ireland
And prayed to our father
And climbed up the mountainside
With fire in our hearts
And we walked all the way to Tir Na Nog.
I said with my eyes that
I recognized your chin
It was my long lost friend
To help me from another lifetime
We took each others hands and cried
Like a river when we said hello
And we walked to Tir Na Nog.
We made a big connection
On a golden autumn day
We were standing in the garden wet with rain
And our souls were young again
In Tir Na Nog.
And outside the storm was raging
Outside Jerusalem
We drove in our chariots of fire
Following the big sun in the west
Going up, going up, to
Tir Na Nog.
You came into my life
And you filled me and you filled me
Oh so joyous
By the clear cool crystal streams
Where the roads were quiet and still
And we walked all the way
To Tir Na Nog
How can we not be attached
After all we`re only human
The only way then is to never come back
Except I wouldn`t want that would you
If we weren`t together again
In Tir Na Nog.
We`ve been together before
In a different incarnation
And we loved each other then as well
And we sat down in contemplation
Many many many times you kissed mine eyes
In Tir Na Nog.

Simon & Garfunkel - Kathy`s Song
I hear the drizzle of the rain
Like a memory it falls
Soft and warm continuing
Tapping on my roof and walls.
And from the shelter of my mind
Through the window of my eyes
I gaze beyond the rain-drenched streets
To England where my heart lies.
My mind`s distracted and diffused
My thoughts are many miles away
They lie with you when you`re asleep
And kiss you when you start your day.
And as a song I was writing is left undone
I don`t know why I spend my time
Writing songs I can`t believe
With words that tear and strain to rhyme.
And so you see I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.
And as I watch the drops of rain
Weave their weary paths and die
I know that I am like the rain
There but for the grace of you go I.
Kathy`s Song was written about Paul Simon`s girlfriend Kathy Chitty, an English girl he was going out with whilst still building his music base and touring England as a folk singer in 1964/5. She is the subject of this song written when he was back in America. Later he returned to England and took her to America . Their touring was remembered in "America". Eventually she went home and in time they parted. As stated she is on the cover of the rare paul simon songbook.
Art introduced Kathy`s Song [in concert] by proclaiming that he thinks it is the most beautiful love song ever written by Paul.
Paul Simon (1986): "To be 22 years old and to have your girlfriend on your album cover. That was -it-!"

Motorpsycho Nitemare
I pounded on a farmhouse
Lookin` for a place to stay.
I was mighty, mighty tired,
I had gone a long, long way.
I said, "Hey, hey, in there,
Is there anybody home?"
I was standin` on the steps
Feelin` most alone.
Well, out comes a farmer,
He must have thought that I was nuts.
He immediately looked at me
And stuck a gun into my guts.
I fell down
To my bended knees,
Saying, "I dig farmers,
Don`t shoot me, please!"
He cocked his rifle
And began to shout,
"You`re that travelin` salesman
That I have heard about."
I said, "No! No! No!
I`m a doctor and it`s true,
I`m a clean-cut kid
And I been to college, too."
Then in comes his daughter
Whose name was Rita.
She looked like she stepped out of
La Dolce Vita.
I immediately tried to cool it
With her dad,
And told him what a
Nice, pretty farm he had.
He said, "What do doctors
Know about farms, pray tell?"
I said, "I was born
At the bottom of a wishing well."
Well, by the dirt `neath my nails
I guess he knew I wouldn`t lie.
"I guess you`re tired,"
He said, kinda sly.
I said, "Yes, ten thousand miles
Today I drove."
He said, "I got a bed for you
Underneath the stove.
Just one condition
And you go to sleep right now,
That you don`t touch my daughter
And in the morning, milk the cow."
I was sleepin` like a rat
When I heard something jerkin`.
There stood Rita
Lookin` just like Tony Perkins.
She said, "Would you like to take a shower?
I`ll show you up to the door."
I said, "Oh, no! no!
I`ve been through this before."
I knew I had to split
But I didn`t know how,
When she said,
"Would you like to take that shower, now?"
Well, I couldn`t leave
Unless the old man chased me out,
`Cause I`d already promised
That I`d milk his cows.
I had to say something
To strike him very weird,
So I yelled out,
"I like Fidel Castro and his beard."
Rita looked offended
But she got out of the way,
As he came charging down the stairs
Sayin`, "What`s that I heard you say?"
I said, "I like Fidel Castro,
I think you heard me right,"
And ducked as he swung
At me with all his might.
Rita mumbled something
`Bout her mother on the hill,
As his fist hit the icebox,
He said he`s going to kill me
If I don`t get out the door
In two seconds flat,
"You unpatriotic,
Rotten doctor Commie rat."
Well, he threw a Reader`s Digest
At my head and I did run,
I did a somersault
As I seen him get his gun
And crashed through the window
At a hundred miles an hour,
And landed fully blast
In his garden flowers.
Rita said, "Come back!"
As he started to load
The sun was comin` up
And I was runnin` down the road.
Well, I don`t figure I`ll be back
There for a spell,
Even though Rita moved away
And got a job in a motel.
He still waits for me,
Constant, on the sly.
He wants to turn me in
To the F.B.I.
Me, I romp and stomp,
Thankful as I romp,
Without freedom of speech,
I might be in the swamp.

Congratulations
Congratulations
Oh, seems like you`ve done it again
And I ain`t had such misery
Since I don`t know when
Oh, and I don`t know when, oh, and I don`t know when
I notice so many people
Slipping away
And many more waiting in the lines
In the courtrooms today
In the courtrooms today
Love is not a game
Love is not a toy
Love`s no romance
Love will do you in
And love will wash you out
And needless to say
You won`t stand a chance, you won`t stand a chance
I`m hungry for learning
Won`t you answer me please
Can a man a woman
Live together in peace
Oh, live together in peace
