Microsoft Selects Fonix VoiceDial(TM) Best Solution For Microsoft 2002 Pocket PC Phone Edition
Thursday March 20, 12:00 am ET
`Killer app` to Increase Market Share With Wireless Operators and Pocket PC OEMs
SALT LAKE CITY and NEW ORLEANS, March 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Fonix Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: FONX - News), a leading provider of speech interface solutions, was selected today by Microsoft for Fonix VoiceDial(TM) as best solution for the 2002 Pocket PC Phone Edition devices at the first annual Microsoft Mobile Solutions Challenge. In addition, Fonix VoiceDial also won for the 2002 Microsoft Smartphone. The awards were presented to Fonix today at the 2003 Microsoft Mobility Conference in New Orleans.
"With this award Microsoft recognizes the simple, yet powerful, utility of VoiceDial and Fonix`s voice solutions that make Pocket PC Phone devices more intuitive and user-friendly," said Tim K. Hong, Director Mobile Wireless at Fonix. "Voice Dial is uniquely positioned to be bundled directly with the Pocket PC Phone Edition devices or as a simple software download. Fonix VoiceDial is a must-have feature that optimizes functionality, user satisfaction and increases safe-use for these devices. With Microsoft`s validation, we intend to make Fonix VoiceDial a standard feature for all Pocket PC Phone Edition devices through device OEMs and wireless operators."
Fully integrated with Microsoft Outlook and the Pocket PC OS, Fonix VoiceDial provides users a hands-free, wireless connection by speaking the name or number contained in the contact list on their Pocket PC Phone. VoiceDial is speaker-independent and requires no training, providing access to the robust features of a Pocket PC Phone Edition device. Through VoiceDial users can navigate their device -- open programs, input information, place calls -- without looking at the display or using their hands.
Fonix VoiceDial, the first module from the Fonix VoiceSuite(TM) for Pocket PC Phone Edition devices, has announced support for the following devices: Microsoft Pocket PC Phone Edition devices, T-Mobile Pocket PC Phone Edition, AT&T Siemens SX56, O2 XDA, HP Journada 928, Hitachi Multimedia Communicator and Samsung i700.
Fonix expects the easy user interface provided by Fonix VoiceDial to increase OEM unit sales and increase wireless operator airtime due to safer and reliable access to contact names and phone numbers. Microsoft`s award validates Fonix`s Freedom of Speech(TM) vision with products like VoiceDial, and we expect to expand channel distribution through customers such as T-Mobile, AT&T Wireless, Siemens, Sprint, Verizon, Vodaphone, O2, Orange, Cingular, Hitachi and Samsung. Fonix also anticipates expanding OEM channels in Europe with VoiceDial`s language support of German, French and Spanish.
True Mobility Now Possible
VoiceDial puts the power of speech into phone dialing with minimal user demands. This breakthrough application offers the following convenient features:
-- Continuous Dialing Response -- When speaking a phone number to dial,
the user may speak at his or her usual speed and cadence and VoiceDial
responds continuously. No pausing or waiting is necessary for each
digit to be dialed separately.
-- Unlimited Contact List Size -- VoiceDial builds a database of all the
contacts in a user`s contacts database. Customers can easily download
their entire Outlook contact database to their Pocket PC Phone Edition
devices. There is no limit to the number of names a user can add or
access.
-- Highly Accurate -- Even in the noisiest of environments like cars and
sporting events VoiceDial recognizes a user`s commands.
-- Customized Pronunciation -- VoiceDial enables users to improve
accuracy where needed or to add a nickname for a particular contact.
-- Speaker Independent Phonetic Recognition -- No voice training is
required.
VoiceDial is part of the "My Voice, My Device" speech solutions delivered through the Fonix VoiceSuite(TM) of products. Additional solutions to be released include Fonix VoiceEmail(TM), Fonix VoiceInternet(TM) and Fonix VoiceCalendar(TM).

@jli:
Sehe ich genauso!
@HGTPZ:

massiven Anstieg in Amerika.

@Corner
