NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 9, 2003--Universal Express, Inc. (OTC BB:USXP) today received $300,000,000 in committed and approved funds and plans to acquire a soon to be announced nationally established transportation company.
A Letter of Intent with that Company to be acquired has been signed, but a confidentiality agreement remains in effect until the actual Closing date or by the joint agreement of both parties to announce before the Closing.
"The formal Closing should be concluded in 75 days or less, and a specific announcement will be made by both parties at the appropriate time or prior to that closing date", said Richard A. Altomare, President and CEO of Universal Express.
"This acquisition is intended to become our initial subsidiary within our recently created Transportation Division. When completed, it will add substantially to our domestic delivery capability, our gross revenues and our EBIDTA", continued Mr. Altomare.
Universal Express today simply has informed the public of its financial capability to now effectuate a transaction of this size with a nationally recognized brand name.
During the developmental stages of any company, that company may receive financial commitments based on the funder`s due diligence requirements or acquisition targets approved for that funding. Today`s commitment is far more definite and it is for that reason a press release has been issued.
"Despite unexpected setbacks, when a developing entity like Universal Express becomes the surviving Company in a potential acquisition of this magnitude, a press release prior to the formal announcement, in the opinion of our legal counsel, becomes appropriate for the benefit of the general public, our shareholders and all others involved", concluded Mr. Altomare.

also bei aller phantasie; erst mal müssen fakten her. die zugesprochene summe ist ja ganz toll, aber wenn ich es noch richtig im kopf habe, wurde gegen ein paar personen ermittelt - wie sollen die denn jemals soviel geld auftreiben. das glaube ich also nicht.
dann habe ich mir heute noch mal das interview durchgelesen und ich muß schon sagen: der chef nimmt den mund ziemlich voll. aber auch hier ist von der übernahme einer logistik-firma die rede. an diesen wiederholten recht genauen angaben muß er sich ja messen lassen. was ich nicht weiß: wie hat es sich in der vergangenheit mit den aussagen verhalten??? wurden diese eingehalten oder nicht?
also mal sehen, was die amis machen: an eine kursexplosion glaube ich allerdings nicht, dafür wurde in den letzten wochen zu viel eingesammelt - und verdienen will doch jeder. es müßte schon was bahnbrechendes sein. aber was sollte das wohl sein????

(OTCBB:USXP - News) announced that a new jury in Circuit Court, Dade County, Florida awarded an additional $137,407,253 compensatory damage verdict after a second liability and conspiracy trial, this time against Sheldon Taiger and South Beach Financial for fraud, conversion and failure to honor funding commitments. "Adding to our previous judgment of $389,000,000 (USD) plus interest; this five year `righting of short-selling wrongs` has now completed the circle of the leaders of this corporate violation. Collecting actual funds has been ongoing since our initial jury award and this judgment adds substantially to our legal rights of subpoenas, seizures and even possible additionally announced professional co-conspirators," said Richard A.
