CARMEN COPPER PROJECT
The Company is pleased to announce that the technical audit by Behre Dolbear of the feasibility study covering the reopening of the Toledo copper mine in Cebu, Philippines is substantially complete. The study has been delayed by the recent sharp increase in smelting/refining charges and in particular, the cost of oil and coal which has necessitated a revision of the cost estimates and the method of power supply to the mine.
Following the increase in energy costs it has been necessary to revise the power supply from a simple power purchase arrangement to a capital contribution to enable the expansion in capacity by 50 Mw of the Sangi coal fired plant of Mirant Toledo Power Station (MTPS). The expansion will be owned by the mine but operated by MTPS and the power produced sold to the mine at cost, including a management charge. This arrangement has resulted in a significant reduction in power cost but an increase in the estimated capital cost. The Company and its advisors are continuing to evaluate other power supply options.
Smelting and refining charges have increased from a low of 4¢/lb of copper in July to a current rate of 26¢/lb, despite there being only an 80% utilization of copper smelter capacity worldwide. The Company has taken the conservative view that future smelting and refining charges will average 23¢/lb.
Based on the revised energy plan, key figures from the study are:
Capital cost $171.38 million
Cash costs $0.64/lb copper
Based on a gold price of $385/oz and an exchange rate of Php55=$1.00 the NPV at a discount rate of 10% at a copper price of $1.00, $1.20 and $1.40/lb is $12.09M, $93.52M and $173.60 M respectively.
Future scheduled rates of production are 42,000 tonnes per day (15.2 million tonnes per year) from the Carmen Lift 1, through a system of underground crushing followed by conveying through a decline directly to the Carmen concentrator. This will result in significant cost savings over the scheduled 11-year life of Carmen Lift 1. Existing shaft hoisting facilities will provide hoisting back up. Average annual payable production will be 108,5M lbs of copper and 47,900 oz of gold.
The mining of DAS Lifts 2 and 3 at 42,000 tpd is being studied. This will extend mine life beyond 20 years. Total mine resource is over 870 million tonnes and promises a much longer mine life. In addition, several higher grade exploration targets in proximity to the existing production shafts have been identified and will be drilled at a later date.
Retained senior management at the mine is of high international repute and represents many years of operating experience. Suitably experienced expatriate staff will provide full technical and commercial back-up to the mine staff. A fully experienced mine workforce is available in the district and the reopening of the mine will create employment for an additional 2,800 persons.
The Company is making good progress with major companies in Japan and China for the provision of copper concentrate offtake and project financing agreements.
The Toledo copper mine, in which the Company is earning a 40% interest, commenced operations in 1955 and operated continuously until 1994, when mining operations were suspended due to the underground block caving operations being flooded by super typhoon Ruping, which caused widespread loss of life and property throughout Cebu.
The Carmen Lift 1 was in partial production prior to the suspension of mining operations and the mining method to be deployed at Carmen Lift 1 is well established and proven.
Prior to suspension of operations, mine production peaked at 110,000 tonnes per day from open pit and underground block caving, and Toledo was at the time, the largest copper mine in Asia. Full gravity block caving was practiced for many years at the mine, which was amongst the lowest cost producers in the world.
Production over the last 15 years of operations was at the same grade as the remaining resource and also the projected future production. During this period the mine produced profits of up to $100 million per annum before tax, debt service and management fees. To date, the mine has produced total operating cash flow of $1.31 billion before tax, debt service and management fees.
Berong Nickel Project
At the Company’s Berong nickel laterite project in Palawan, Philippines, work is progressing on schedule to commence direct shipping saprolite ore by mid 2005 at the rate of 300,000 tonnes per year to ferro nickel smelters in Japan, pursuant to a contract entered into in August 2004. Discussions are also underway with another major Japanese company for a further 350,000 tonnes per year.
Negotiations are also well underway with a major Australian consumer for the direct shipment of 600,000 tonnes per year of high grade limonite ore > 1.8%, which will be produced as a co-product at little additional cost.
The Berong nickel laterite project has an indicated resource of 275m tonnes at 1.3% Ni and 0.074% Co containing 3.6 million tonnes of nickel, making it one of the largest deposits in the world. Discussions are underway with a number of international companies who have indicated an interest in entering into a farm-in arrangement in a major project which would involve the development of an acid leach and/or ferro nickel plant. This excludes the direct shipping operation which would be operated independently by the Company.

Innerer Wert der Beteiligungen fast schon beim 5-fachen, Borsenbewertung mickrig! Schade drum, oder nicht gewollt?
Langsam könnte man ja den Fuß von der Bremse nehmen, die kriegt sonst fading und der Zug ist (hoffentlich) gar nicht mehr zu halten.

We wish to advise that RC drilling has recommenced on the Company’s Subranum Gold
Concession in Ghana. The majority of the program is designed to drill some 7km of untested
Bibiani Shear Zone. Major anomalies were identified during a preliminary structural
interpretation and soil-sampling was completed over the area earlier in 2004, however sampling
failed to penetrate thick transported cover over most of the area.
Wide-spaced drill lines will traverse anomalies that are present in aeromagnetic dataset. Similar
anomalies in the south of the Concession have produced high-grade results, including the
following:
SBRC002 6m at 7.25g/t Au from 15m at Adukrom
SBRC004 4m at 47.08g/t Au from 7m at Adukrom, including 1m at 180.50g/t Au
SBRC085 9m at 10.01g/t Au from 85m at Atakurom
SBRC090 9m at 5.88g/t Au from 75m at Atakurom
SBRC129 4m at 4.52g/t Au from 98m at Atakurom
SBRC155 5m at 6.02g/t Au from 80m at Atakurom

SUBRANUM UPDATE
Cambrian Mining Plc is pleased to announce that RC drilling has recommenced on
its Subranum Gold Concession in Ghana. The principal aim of this programme is to
drill some 7km of untested Bibiani Shear Zone. Major anomalies were identified
during a preliminary structural interpretation in early 2004 and soil-sampling
was then completed over the area. However, on this occasion, sampling failed to
penetrate thick transported cover over most of the area.
The Bibiani Shear is situated on the eastern margin of the Sefwi Belt and is
closely associated with Anglo-Ashanti`s Bibiani Gold Mine (4.5Moz) and Redback`s
Chirano Project (1.5Moz) which are along strike to the southwest. The Sefwi Belt
also hosts Newmont`s Ahafo Project (9Moz).

qualified Mining Engineer with more than 5 years reporting experience. All
samples analysed using Fire Assay method (50g) at SGS Laboratories, Ghana.
Appropriate QAQC measures were implemented throughout the drilling programme. No
material QAQC issues were identified.

Cambrian Mining Plc announces that AGD Mining Limited`s (" AGD" ) (ASX: AGZ)
one-for-two rights issue to all shareholders, as announced on 11 August 2004,
has now closed. As a result of underwriting this rights issue, Cambrian
increased its holding in AGD from c.42% to 47.69%. This issue raised A$3.4
million and a further A$3.54 million could potentially be raised by March 2005
when all options attaching to the new shares mature.
Cambrian intends to exercise its options prior to this maturity and as a result
the Company will increase its holding in AGD to 56% on a fully diluted basis.
AGD is developing the Augusta gold/antimony mine at Costerfield in Victoria,
Australia. The mine is expected to start production in the third quarter of
2005.
The development of Augusta is expected to take approximately eight months and
cost A$11 million. Project optimisation studies are currently under way and
drilling of the primary deposit resumed this week.
Preliminary studies indicate that the project has the potential to pay back the
A$11 million capital cost within one year. Minable reserves at present are
sufficient for three years production, based on current reserves of 197,000
tonnes containing 15.6g/t gold and 7% antimony. The project is expected to
average production of about 29,500 ounces of gold and 3,300 tonnes of antimony
in concentrates annually. The Augusta deposit remains open along strike and at
depth as only 500 metres of the 6 km strike length has been drilled and this to
a depth of only 120 metres. As a result, there is potential to increase reserves
to five years prior to the start of mining next year.

SUBRANUM UPDATE
Cambrian Mining Plc is pleased to announce that RC drilling has recommenced on
its Subranum Gold Concession in Ghana. The principal aim of this programme is to
drill some 7km of untested Bibiani Shear Zone. Major anomalies were identified
during a preliminary structural interpretation in early 2004 and soil-sampling
was then completed over the area. However, on this occasion, sampling failed to
penetrate thick transported cover over most of the area.
The Bibiani Shear is situated on the eastern margin of the Sefwi Belt and is
closely associated with Anglo-Ashanti`s Bibiani Gold Mine (4.5Moz) and Redback`s
Chirano Project (1.5Moz) which are along strike to the southwest. The Sefwi Belt
also hosts Newmont`s Ahafo Project (9Moz).
Wide spaced drill lines will traverse anomalies that are present in the
aeromagnetic dataset. Similar anomalies to the south have produced high-grade
results including the following:-
* SBRC002 6m at 7.25g/t Au from 15m at Adukrom
* SBRC004 4m at 47.08g/t Au from 7m at Adukrom, including 1m at 180.50g/t
Au
* SBRC085 9m at 10.01 g/t Au from 85m at Atakurom
* SBRC090 9m at 5.88 g/t Au from 75m at Atakurom
* SBRC129 4m at 4.52 g/t Au from 98m at Atakurom
* SBRC155 5m at 6.02 g/t Au from 80m at Atakurom
* SBRC159 3m at 5.55 g/t Au from surface at Atakurom
* SBRC136 5m at 7.50 g/t Au from 3m at Kyenkyenase
* SBRC066 4m at 6.73 g/t Au from 23m at Adukrom
NB: All results based on a 0.50g/t Au lower cut, minimum width of 2m, not
including more than 2m of waste.
Further soil-sampling has also commenced over the western portion of the
project. Soil-sampling will aim to generate further targets to be tested during
the current drilling program.
Note: technical information contained in this News Release has been compiled by
Mr David Lenigas, Cambrian Mining plc`s General Manager of Mining, who is a
qualified Mining Engineer with more than 5 years reporting experience. All
samples analysed using Fire Assay method (50g) at SGS Laboratories, Ghana.
Appropriate QAQC measures were implemented throughout the drilling programme. No
material QAQC issues were identified.

ist das hier ein Munkel und Whisper-Board oder diskutieren wir hier über eine Aktie, die schon seit Monaten im Umsatz und Kurs grottenschlecht ist. Der eine sagt dann: psssst ich weiss was, wird supergut, darf aber nicht erzählen, der andere murmelt was von irgendwelchen Aktionen, die den Kurs drücken. der dritte, dass die Aktion abgeschlossen ist und nach Bereinigung der Bilanz jetzt (aber wirklich jetzt!) steigen kann. Und das schlimme, diese Menschen glauben auch noch den Mist, den sie da anderen erzählen.Und ich dachte, es geht um Börse und reality und nicht um Firlefanz und Kindergarten. Da könnt ihr genauso an den großen bösen Wolf glauben.
Ich komm mir vor wie im Märchen, oder seid ihr schwachsinnig, dass ihr von erwachsenen Menschen solche Märchen erzählt???

Gold
Our acquisition of Metak Ltd, holder of the Subranum gold property in Ghana, has given us exposure to what is potentially a major gold deposit on a geological formation that is already known to host over 17 million ounces of gold. The risks associated with exploration have been minimised by a subsequent transaction with Investika to fund the first $US1 million of exploration expenditure. Early results of the current drilling campaign have been encouraging. Our other gold investment, AGD Mining, proved up additional high grade gold and antimony near surface at its Augusta gold/antimony deposit in Australia.
Metak Limited (Subranum) — Ghana, West Africa
Metak Limited is the owner of a 75 per cent interest in the licences for the Subranum project with an option to increase to 90 per cent. The Subranum Project covers 139 square kilometres and is located along the eastern region of the Sefwi-Bibiani Belt in the Ashanti region of south-west Ghana, West Africa. The Sefwi-Bibiani Belt hosts over 17 million ounces of gold resources including Newmont’s Yanfo gold project, Ashanti’s Bibiani Gold Mine and Redback Mining’s Chirano Project.
In 2002 and early 2003, anomalous gold mineralisation was outlined over a distance of 9.5 km, and was confirmed in detail over 6.5 km as two parallel anomalies. The eastern anomaly was trenched over 1.6 km exposing mineralised shear zones.
Significant trenching results included: 1m at 110.44g/t Au and 1m at 20.84g/t Au from trench SBT45. These intercepts were associated with intensely sheared strong silica-sulphide alteration. To the south SBT041 returned positive results from a low tenor gold-in-soil anomaly with 4m grading 1.84g/t Au, 5m grading 3.28g/t Au including 1m at 12.70g/t Au and 2m at 1.81g/t Au. Significant results from SBT041 support the previously held view that gold mineralisation persists beneath transported soil cover between the 3 main mineralised zones.
An infill soil geochemical programme carried out some 1.5 km west of the main Bibiani Shear Anomaly identified another anomaly, which coincides with the interpreted confluence of major structures and granite-Birimian lithological contacts. Although not well defined, a 100ppb anomalous gold halo extends over 600m in strike and 300m in breadth, with peaks of 829ppb gold (0.829g/t gold) and 566ppb gold (0.566g/t gold). Sampling in this area is continuing to determine the full extent of the gold mineralisation in this area.
In June 2003, Cambrian obtained a 100 per cent interest in Metak Limited.
Cambrian subsequently entered into an agreement with Investika Limited — an Australian listed company — whereby Investika can earn up to a 45 per cent interest in the project by funding the next US$1 million of the current exploration programme. Cambrian, therefore, now has a direct 37.5 per cent interest in Subranum (with an option to increase to 45 per cent) and management of the Subranum Project.
In the second half of 2003, and subsequent to the agreement with Investika, a full exploration and drilling programme was implemented to assess the potential of the deposit. This drill campaign consists of 8,000m drilling over 230 holes, and is scheduled to be completed by year end 2003. Initial results are due in the final quarter of 2003.
The drilling programme has been designed to thoroughly test significant gold results from soil sampling, trenching and previous RC drilling in the oxide profile to depths of 25–30 metres over a strike length of some 6 km of the now identified 7 km on the main anomaly and initial drilling on the newly discovered western anomaly.

AGD Mining Ltd, Australia (‘AGD’)
AGD is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (under the code AGZ). AGD is developing the high grade Augusta gold and antimony deposit in Costerfield, Victoria, Australia. The Augusta’s reserves and resources already total 290,000 tonnes at a diluted mining grade of 12 grams per tonne Au and 6.2 per cent antimony. The deposit exists close to surface and the ore body is currently open in all directions. In January AGD commenced an extensive drilling programme designed to extend the high grade gold/antimony mineralisation along the strike in both directions, with the view of developing a 16,500 ounce per year gold operation with 5,000 tonnes per year of antimony concentrate production.
This drill programme constituted part of the final phase of a feasibility study. It was successful in proving shallow reserves suitable for early mining operations and processing through AGD’s existing gold plant, and extended the northern limits of the deposit which so far has been drilled over a strike length of 400 m and to a depth of 120 m. Our acquisition of Metak Ltd, holder of the Subranum gold property in Ghana, has given us exposure to what is potentially a major gold deposit on a geological formation that is already known to host over 17 million ounces of gold. The risks associated with exploration have been minimised by a subsequent transaction with Investika to fund the first $US1 million of exploration expenditure. Early results of the current drilling campaign have been encouraging. Our other gold investment, AGD Mining, proved up additional high grade gold and antimony near surface at its Augusta gold/antimony deposit in Australia.
Metak Limited (Subranum) — Ghana, West Africa
Metak Limited is the owner of a 75 per cent interest in the licences for the Subranum project with an option to increase to 90 per cent. The Subranum Project covers 139 square kilometres and is located along the eastern region of the Sefwi-Bibiani Belt in the Ashanti region of south-west Ghana, West Africa. The Sefwi-Bibiani Belt hosts over 17 million ounces of gold resources including Newmont’s Yanfo gold project, Ashanti’s Bibiani Gold Mine and Redback Mining’s Chirano Project.
In 2002 and early 2003, anomalous gold mineralisation was outlined over a distance of 9.5 km, and was confirmed in detail over 6.5 km as two parallel anomalies. The eastern anomaly was trenched over 1.6 km exposing mineralised shear zones.
Significant trenching results included: 1m at 110.44g/t Au and 1m at 20.84g/t Au from trench SBT45. These intercepts were associated with intensely sheared strong silica-sulphide alteration. To the south SBT041 returned positive results from a low tenor gold-in-soil anomaly with 4m grading 1.84g/t Au, 5m grading 3.28g/t Au including 1m at 12.70g/t Au and 2m at 1.81g/t Au. Significant results from SBT041 support the previously held view that gold mineralisation persists beneath transported soil cover between the 3 main mineralised zones.
An infill soil geochemical programme carried out some 1.5 km west of the main Bibiani Shear Anomaly identified another anomaly, which coincides with the interpreted confluence of major structures and granite-Birimian lithological contacts. Although not well defined, a 100ppb anomalous gold halo extends over 600m in strike and 300m in breadth, with peaks of 829ppb gold (0.829g/t gold) and 566ppb gold (0.566g/t gold). Sampling in this area is continuing to determine the full extent of the gold mineralisation in this area.
In June 2003, Cambrian obtained a 100 per cent interest in Metak Limited.
Cambrian subsequently entered into an agreement with Investika Limited — an Australian listed company — whereby Investika can earn up to a 45 per cent interest in the project by funding the next US$1 million of the current exploration programme. Cambrian, therefore, now has a direct 37.5 per cent interest in Subranum (with an option to increase to 45 per cent) and management of the Subranum Project.
In the second half of 2003, and subsequent to the agreement with Investika, a full exploration and drilling programme was implemented to assess the potential of the deposit. This drill campaign consists of 8,000m drilling over 230 holes, and is scheduled to be completed by year end 2003. Initial results are due in the final quarter of 2003.
The drilling programme has been designed to thoroughly test significant gold results from soil sampling, trenching and previous RC drilling in the oxide profile to depths of 25–30 metres over a strike length of some 6 km of the now identified 7 km on the main anomaly and initial drilling on the newly discovered western anomaly.

AGD Mining Ltd, Australia (‘AGD’)
AGD is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (under the code AGZ). AGD is developing the high grade Augusta gold and antimony deposit in Costerfield, Victoria, Australia. The Augusta’s reserves and resources already total 290,000 tonnes at a diluted mining grade of 12 grams per tonne Au and 6.2 per cent antimony. The deposit exists close to surface and the ore body is currently open in all directions. In January AGD commenced an extensive drilling programme designed to extend the high grade gold/antimony mineralisation along the strike in both directions, with the view of developing a 16,500 ounce per year gold operation with 5,000 tonnes per year of antimony concentrate production.
This drill programme constituted part of the final phase of a feasibility study. It was successful in proving shallow reserves suitable for early mining operations and processing through AGD’s existing gold plant, and extended the northern limits of the deposit which so far has been drilled over a strike length of 400 m and to a depth of 120 m. Wenn man mal kritisch seine Meinung äußert (Ansatzpunkte zu Kritik sind ja wohl zuhauf gegeben) wird man gleich aufgefordert, IVK zu verkaufen.
Ist das, was du wünscht, nur positives einlullen (kein Anlass beim bisherigen Verlauf) oder stellst du dich mit sachbezogenen Info`s der Kritik. Sollten aber schon fundental wichtige Dinge sein, kein blabla!

of Palawan, Philippines containing extensive nickel deposits.
The consideration for the acquisition is the payment of US$200,000 to the vendors, US$1 million to meet a
schedule of expenditures to assist in bringing certain direct shipping ore to production, and the issue of
30,000,000 fully paid ordinary shares in the capital of the Company.
The major owners of the project, Atlas Consolidated Mining and Development Corporation, have conducted
a number of pre-feasibility and feasibility studies in past years and have outlined a total resource, at a cut-off
grade of 0.9% Ni for limonite and 0.9% for saprolite, of 275 million tonnes at a grade of 1.3% Ni and
0.074% Co. Contained nickel is 3.6 million tonnes.
Included in the above resource and based on CIM Resource/Reserve definitions, which are almost identical
to JORC definitions, Canadian consultants Rescan and Nilsson estimated measured, indicated and inferred
resources of 2.117 million tonnes of 2.26%Ni at a cutoff grade of 2.0%Ni. A mining plan is currently being
developed on this direct shipping ore resource, which has potential to be enlarged.
The owners have commenced discussions with Japanese smelters to uptake direct shipping ore FOB Palawan
at the rate of 225,000 dry tonnes per annum, with the first production planned to commence in November
2004 and the first shipment in March 2005. Further test pitting will then be undertaken to block out
additional reserves to lift production capacity of the direct shipping ore to 500,000 tonnes per year.
Cash operating cost of the direct shipping ore at a production rate of 225,000 dry tonnes p.a. is estimated to
be the equivalent to US$1.20 per pound of payable nickel content. At a price of US$3.50/lb, the project
would achieve an annual pre-tax profit of US$5.2 million and at the current price of US$5/lb,
US$12.6million p.a.

#604 Asia Energy steigt und steigt,aber investika macht nix.Hier kann was nicht stimmen.Cambrian hat sich damals auch vervierfacht und an Investika ist alles spurlos vorbeigegangen.Also wer kennt die genaue Höhe der verschiedenen Investika Betieligungen.Dann kann man rechnen.Ansonstenn ist alles nur dust in the wind

im jahrebericht 2003(03.03.04) hat investika gesagt,sie besitzen 3,5% an cambrian
damals(03.03.04) bis heute hat cambrian einige kapitalerhoehungen durchgefuehrt,das bedeutet,dass falls investika bis heute keine cambrian aktien verkauft haette,ihre beteiligung(durch div. kapitalerhoehungen bei cambrian) automatisch sich reduziert haette-vielleicht nur noch 2,8-3%(vorher 3,5%)
falls investika noch 2,5% an cambrian haelt,besitzen sie ca. 1,6 mio aktien,oder ca.€4,5 mio

Government owning the remaining 10%. Cambrian granted
Investika the right to earn a 50% interest in Metak by spending
US$1 million on exploration. By the year end, Investika had
earned its 50% interest and was continuing to fund the
programme in conjunction with Cambrian on a 50–50 basis.
Exploration consisted of trenching and reverse circulation (RC)
drilling. Part of the southern area of the Concession, at
Adukrom and Atakurom, was tested by RC drilling and returned
good gold grades down to a depth of 98 metres. These results
are currently being assessed to plan for future work.
Immediate plans are to drill similar wide-spaced RC holes
across 7 kilometres of previously untested strike of the Bibiani
Shear north of Adukrom. Major anomalies were identified
during a previous preliminary structural interpretation of this
area in the financial year. Geochemical sampling failed to
penetrate the thick transported soil cover over the area.
Drilling will be accompanied by further soil sampling of the
western prospects which will also be drilled in the proposed
programme.
Considerable exploration remains to be done before the
potential of the Subranum can be more clearly defined.
Results to date have, however, emphasised the potential for
Subranum to yield a gold deposit of considerable size.

Cambrian Mining to start drilling program in Ghana
ACCRA, August 19 -- Cambrian Mining Plc Tuesday said that due to the success of the current exploration programme at its Subranum property in Ghana, an 8,000 million drilling programme has been commissioned to commence in two weeks. This drill programme, comprising over 230 holes, will be completed over the next three months.
The drilling programme has been designed to thoroughly test significant gold results from soil sampling, trenching and previous RC drilling in the oxide profile to depths of 25-30 metres over a strike length of some 6kms of the now identified 7km on the main anomaly and initial drilling on the newly discovered western anomaly.
The Subranum Project is located along the eastern margin of the Sefwi-Bibiani Belt in the Ashanti region of southwest Ghana, West Africa. The Sefwi-Bibiani Belt hosts over 17 million ounces of gold resources including Newmont`s Yanfo gold project, Ashanti`s Bibiani Gold Mine and Redback Mining`s Chirano Project.
Cambrian has a direct 37.5% interest in Subranum (increasing to 45%) and management of the Subranum Project. Cambrian`s joint venture partner is Investika Ltd, an Australian listed public Company, which has committed to spending US$1 million on exploration.
Exploration to date by way of geochemical soil sampling, trenching and drilling has identified a distinct " Bibiani Shear Anomaly" totaling some 7km of potential mineralized strike extent of which portions have excellent potential for the discovery of high grade gold mineralisation. The potential for further mineralisation to the northeast is high.
Previous drilling on Subranum has already returned significant RC drilling results including:
6 million @ 7.25g/t gold from 15 million in SBRC002 4 million @ 47.08g/t gold from 7 million in SBRC004, including 1 million at 180.50g/t gold 7 million @ 1.67g/t gold from 48 million in SBRC015
A recent infill soil geochemical programme carried out some 1.5km west of the main Bibiani Shear Anomaly has identified another anomaly, which coincides with the interpreted confluence of major structures and granite-Birimian lithological contacts.
Although not well defined, a 100ppb anomalous gold halo extends over 600 million in strike and 300 million in breadth, with peaks of 829ppb gold (0.829g/t gold) and 566ppb gold (0.566g/t gold). Sampling in this area is continuing to determine the full extent of the gold mineralisation in this area.
Trenching conducted during the past quarter with significant results including 1 million at 110.44g/t Au and 1 million at 20.84g/t Au from trench SBT45. These intercepts were associated with intensely sheared strong silica-sulphide alteration.
To the south SBT041 returned positive results from a low tenor gold- in-soil anomaly with 4 million grading 1.84g/t Au, 5 million grading 3.28g/t Au including 1 million at 12.70g/t Au and 2 million at 1.81g/t Au. Significant results from SBT041 support the previously held view that gold mineralisation persisted beneath transported soil cover between the 3 main mineralised zones.
These trench results complement previous exploration along what is now a 5.2km mineralised strike with 30 million of 1.96g/t Au in Trench TR18, 28 million of 1.90g/t Au in Trench TR13, 30 million of 1.02g/t Au in Trench TR23, 8 million of 1.86g/t Au in Trench TR24, 8 million of 1.34g/t Au in Trench TR25, 4 million of 8.05g/t Au in Trench TR29, 6 million of 2.98g/t Au in trench TR 35, 10 million of 1.76g/t Au in Trench TR37 and 52 million of 0.72g/t Au in Trench TR14. - BIZ

GREAT PANTHER RESOURCES LIMITED (TSX-V: GPR; "the Company") is pleased to announce that, on January 19, 2005, it signed a Letter of Intent for an option to acquire a 100% interest in the Virimoa Gold Property located in the Topia Mining District of Durango, Mexico. The project consists of two concessions comprising 148 hectares and hosts a zone of intense alteration, exposed for more than 350 metres. Continuous surface chip sampling over 250 metres of this zone returned 1.08 g/t gold, 20.5 g/t silver and 1.66% zinc, including a higher grade section of 3.38 g/t Au, 26.2 g/t Ag and 4.93% Zn over 16m. With this size and grade as a starting point and no previous drilling, the Company considers the property to have excellent potential to host a large bulk tonnage gold deposit.
The Virimoa Property is situated in the heart of the Sierra Madre Mineral Belt and is centrally located between several significant deposits. It lies approximately 17 kilometres southwest of Great Panther_s Topia Silver-Lead-Zinc Mine, which can be used for logistical support, and was evaluated as part of the Company_s ongoing regional evaluation around the mine. In addition, Virimoa is approximately 30 kilometres west of La Ciénega, currently in production and owned by Compañía Minera Peñoles, and which reported historical resources in 1997 of 5.2 million tonnes grading 6.0 g/t gold, 170 g/t silver, 1.0% lead and 1.3% zinc (this estimate does not follow the required disclosure for reserves and resources outlined in NI 43-101 and is not necessarily indicative of the mineralization on the Virimoa Property).
Terms of the agreement call for Great Panther to make 4 staged cash payments and share issuances totaling US$300,000 and 300,000 shares, over a period of 3 years, to the property owner, Minera Acero del Fuego, S.A. de C.V., a private Mexican company. If the option is exercised, Acero del Fuego will retain a 2% NSR, half of which can be purchased for US$1,000,000. Acero del Fuego acquired the Virimoa concessions in 2000 and conducted the only known exploration on the property, including the aforementioned chip sampling. The transaction is subject to acceptance by the TSX Venture Exchange.
