Bangkok 11.08.03 (asia-economy.de) Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF)WKN 885591 gab anläßlich der Veröffentlichung seiner Quartalszahlen für das zweite Quartal bekannt, dass der Umsatz um 18 % auf 20,5 Mrd. THB angestiegen ist. Der Nettogewinn konnte überproportional um 209 % auf 900 Mio. THB wachsen, nachdem im ersten Quartal noch ein Verlust von 826 Mio. THB gemeldet wurden.
Gestiegene Hühnchenpreise auf 31-32 THB/kg (1Q: 19-20 THB/kg) und eine Lockerung der Europäischen Importbeschränkungen waren für das Umsatzwachstum verantwortlich. Darüber hinaus konnte man durch Umsatzsteigerungen und ein gutes Kostenmanagement in der Schrimpsparte die Margen wieder stwas steigern.

Das zweite Halbjahr sollte für CPF ebenfalls Positiv verlaufen, nachdem fallende Mais- und Sojabohnenpreise die Kosten für dieTierfuttersparte entlasten. CPF rechnet für das Gesamtjahr mit einem Umsatzwachstum von 10 % auf 82 Mrd. THB und einem Nettogewinn auf Vorjahresniveau (2,6 Mrd. THB)

Andreas Lambrou Analyst von asia-economy, sieht in den Aktien von Charoen Pokphand Foods einen soliden langfristigen Kauf. Kurzfristig ist die Aktie wieder an ihren Buchwert von 5 THB herangelaufen und hat damit ihr Kurspotential fast ausgeschöpft. Maximal sind noch 10-20 % Kursgewinn möglich. Deshalb wir die Ende April zu 3,72 THB empfohlene Aktie nun zu halten.

CPF ist eine der langfristig interessantesten Aktien in Thailand. CPF ist ein voll integrierter Hersteller von Shrimps und Hühnchen sowie Futtermitteln, mit einem Marktanteil von etwa 50 % in Thailand.

Wie sich der Baht gg. "Müll-$" entwickelt hat, vermag ich nicht zu beurteilen, da ich diese Währung nicht kenne.


Bei anderen thail. Exporteuren ist der Baht für die Kursentwicklung doch offensichtlich auch nicht ganz so wichtig. Immerhin kann Soja usw. auf dem Weltmarkt dafür billiger eingekauft werden. Außerdem dürften um 50% gestiegene Hühnerfleischpreise + Mengenexpansion den Währungseffekt zum USD ganz gut kompensieren.

haenge auch auf einem hoeheren Posten. Habe in den letzten Tagen den CPF-W2 nachgekauft.
Habe meinen Thai-Nachbarn gefragt, der in der Regel gut informiert ist. Der meint, durch die letzte Kapitalerhoehung ist das Management prozentual nicht mehr so stark am Kapital beteiligt. Die wollen aber wohl wieder den alten Anteil erreichen und kaufen. Man sorgt aber dafuer, dass der Preis nicht hoch geht. Wenn die ihr Ziel erreicht haben, werden die guten Nachrichten kommen --- dann geht`s ab, wie Schmidt`sens Katze.
Koennte so sein. Der Chart ist auch o.k.!

Ich glaube CPF-W2 ist ein Call-Optionsschein, den es nur an der Börse in Bangkok gibt.
Ich bin auch schon ca.10 Jahre in CPF investiert. Eine solide Firma die Gewinne erwirtschaftet und zur Zeit alle 4 Monate eine Dividende ausschüttet. Wird im Augenblick aber links liegengelassen, weil in Thailand andere Werte hochgezogen werden. Wenn dort der Ausstieg beginnt, werden wir un freuen.

WKZ --- keine Ahnung. Lebe in Thailand. Versuch`s mal ueber die Boerse Muenchen. Da muesste ein Haendler ausfindig zu machen sein, der die Thaiwerte betreut. Den muesste man fragen.
CPF-W2 wird keine Rakete sein. Das ist ein defensives Papier. Im Moment ist der Markt ueberhitzt.
Durch die Verwaesserung aus der Kapitalerhoehung(W1)ist der Anteil des Managements am Gesamtkapital gefallen. Die sind bestrebt den alten Stand wieder herzustellen und sind am einsammeln. Das machen die natuerlich nicht bei Hoechstkursen. Daher der staendig gedrueckte Kurs. Wenn das ausgestanden ist, hat der Wert wieder Luft zum durchatmen.
Stell Dir mal ein Posting von gestern rein.

Bei CPF gibts auch einen Warrant - den CPF-W2.
Dieser Warrant hat einen Bezug von 4 Baht/Aktie und wird in 2005 fällig.
Dies wird bis 2005 zu einer größeren Aktienverwässerung führen - wie schon 2002 gesehen - diese ist in der Prognose von Lapalmita für 2004 schon eingearbeitet - denke ich -> fallende Div/Rend. bis 2005 da die Warrants nach und nach ausgeübt werden.

Thailand to check all chicken farms to stem cholera

BANGKOK, Jan 15 (Reuters) - Thailand said on Thursday it would inspect all 20,000 poultry farms in the country to try to contain an outbreak of poultry cholera that threatens an export industry worth more than one billion dollars a year.

The move came after Singapore slapped a partial ban on imports of live and frozen chicken from Thailand, Asia`s largest poultry exporter whose main markets are Japan and Europe.

Nirundorn Aungtragoolsuk, director of Thailand`s Livestock Disease Control Division, told Reuters inspections would start on January 19.

"The measure is to keep track of all chicken and make sure that any infected chicken will be immediately destroyed," Nirundorn said.

He said only farms certified as disease-free would be allowed to sell poultry.

"Any poultry moving from the farm has to be examined first," Nirundorn said. "They will not be allowed to travel from the farm unless there is an approved inspection certificate."

The government has quarantined three farms in central Thailand where the outbreak was first reported.

Around 400,000 chickens have died in Thailand since November, half killed by cholera and the rest through culling to prevent the spread of the virulent strain of poultry cholera known as "Pasteurella Multocida Type A."

Analysts say the inspections are aimed at protecting the reputation of a lucrative business that employs hundreds of thousands of people and produces one billion chickens a year.

Thai officials insist the country is free of a "bird flu" that killed three people in Vietnam this week and threatens poultry industries in Japan and South Korea.

Nirundorn said his department was writing a letter to Singapore to clarify the situation in Thailand in the hope that the island state would rescind its ban on all live birds, day-old chicks, whole frozen poultry and poultry offal from Thailand.

Poultry cuts and processed parts -- which make up 99 percent of Singapore`s annual 15,000 tonnes of Thai chicken imports --- were unaffected by the ban.

But some exporters feared Thailand`s major export markets could become alarmed by Singapore`s action.

"It will probably cause concern in other countries about the safety of Thai poultry products," said one exporter.

"It is now up to the government to clarify the situation."

Vielleicht haben Hühnerscheiße und Gold doch mehr gemeinsam als man für gewöhnlich annimmt.
Allerdings fühle ich mich von der moralischen Seite her bei Charoen noch schlechter aufgehoben als bei den Goldwühlern.
V.a. das Shrimps-Geschäft ist ja im Grunde genommen eine Riesensauerei.

Als nächstes die Meldungen das CPF so und so viel Hühner vernichten muss und durch rasant sinkende Absatzzahlen Verluste erleiden wird. Die Geschichte kann noch Monate weitergehen...

Die Aktie scheint in Vergessenheit geraten zu sein.
Kaum Bewegung mit sehr niedrigen Umsätzen. Es zeichnet sich deutlich eine Bodenbildung ab. Nur noch in harten Händen.
Bei Gelegenheit kaufe ich nun zu. Die beste Wette auf Sicht von einem Jahr.

Insgesamt sollen in den zwei folgenden Jahren 30 Mio. US Dollar nach Vietnam fließen. Hauptsächlich will das Agrarunternehmen jedoch Futter für die Hühnerfarmen exportieren. Verlustquartal -0,11 THB. Dazu einen absaufenden Thai-Markt und miese Stimmung bezüglich Asien und den Märkten.
Der Wert ist richtig durch.

Juni laufen die Exportblockaden aus, dass ist meine kurzfr. Hoffnung. In 2005 laufen die Warants aus, die die Aktie etwas verwässern.
Das mit Charoen entwickelt sich zäher als gedacht, da wird man noch Sitzfleisch bewahren müssen.
Sobald die Aktie anfängt nach oben zu dackeln, gibts Nachkäufe von mir.

BANGKOK, June 24 (Reuters) - Thailand`s Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (CPF.BK: Quote, Profile, Research) expects 2004 sales to grow 10 to 15 percent due to higher exports of cooked chicken, it said on Thursday.

In March, the country`s biggest chicken exporter expected sales to climb only five percent this year due to an outbreak of bird flu in the first quarter of 2004.

Before the outbreak, CPF had forecast sales this year to jump 20 percent from 83 billion baht ($2 billion) in 2003.

"CPF is confident that the company`s sales this year would rise by 10-15 percent from last year," Chief Executive Adirek Sripratak said in a statement.

He said Singapore had placed orders to buy 1,000 tonnes of cooked chicken from CPF after residues were found in chicken imports from Malaysia.

He said the company was exporting cooked chicken to all of its existing export markets, including the European Union, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea.

Thailand`s poultry industry has been hit by a ban on Thai chickens since the outbreak of bird flu was confirmed in January.

Japan, the biggest buyer of Thai chicken, started to accept some cooked products in March from plants which met domestic quality standards.

CPF has said it expects Japan to resume imports of fresh frozen products in the third quarter.

The European Union, the second largest buyer of Thai chicken, has banned only the import of fresh frozen chicken.

Thailand has yet to declare itself free of the avian influenza, which killed eight Thais and forced the slaughter of some 35 million birds in an effort to eradicate the contagious virus.

CP Foods shares were up six percent to finish at 4.16 baht on Thursday while the overall stock market index rose 1.56 percent.

BANGKOK, July 12 (Reuters) - Thailand`s largest chicken exporter, Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (CPF.BK: Quote, Profile, Research) , tried to play down on Monday the possible impact of a return of the bird flu virus in the country, saying it focused more on cooked chicken.
Shares in CP Foods fell to near a one-month low on Monday after Thai authorities confirmed an outbreak of the H5N1 bird flu virus at farms in four provinces in the last week.

An outbreak at the beginning of this year led key customers to stop buying fresh and frozen chickens from Thailand.

But CP Foods Chairman Dhanin Cheravanont told reporters the new outbreak had not hit orders for cooked chicken from his company. International health authorities say cooking chicken at 70 degrees centigrade or higher will kill the bird flu virus.

In the first quarter, 40 percent of CP Foods` chicken products were fresh and frozen, and 60 percent were cooked.

"Our chickens are raised in closed farms. They are unaffected," Dhanin said. "Up to now, our chicken is selling well in foreign countries."

CP Foods said last month orders for its cooked chickens were rising, and could help boost its 2004 sales by 10 to 15 percent from 83 billion baht ($2.04 billion) made in 2003.

Shares in CP Foods fell to a one-month low last week before recovering slightly. They closed down 1.6 percent at 3.8 baht on Monday, while the overall Thai stock market (SETI: Quote, Profile, Research) was down 0.8 percent.

Several countries banned imports of Thai chicken in January.

Japan, the biggest buyer of Thai chicken, started to accept some cooked products in March from factories which met domestic quality standards.

Die Hühnerpest ist immer noch ein Problem in Thailand.

ABER: Charoen meldete ein schwaches Quartal und die Reaktion des Kurses war gleich Null. Das wars, finito. Ab hier gehts nur noch aufwärts.
Zumal Europa und Japan in den nächsten Monaten oder im nächsten Jahr die Exportbeschränkungen aufheben dürften.
Ich tippe auf gute Verkaufs - Kurse spätestens in 2006 .
In der Zwischenzeit gibt die Dividende viel bessere Zinsen als Renten, Geldmarkt und Co.

Thai cooked chicken exports seen to soar in 2005
THAILAND - Thailand`s cooked chicken exports are expected to grow 81% from 193,000 tonnes in 2004 to reach 350,000 tonnes in 2005. This comes after Japan approved imports from more Thai chicken processing factories.

According to the president of the Thai Broiler Processing Exporters Association, Anan Sirimongkolkasem, Japan now accepts imports from 48 Thai broiler-processing factories, meaning that more Thai cooked chicken can enter the Japanese market.

Japanese officials had visited Thailand in late January to inspect and approve more processing plants. In 2004, Japanese officials visited the country twice and approved around 33 factories.

Anan expected Thai cooked chicken exports to Japan to almost double to 180,000 tonnes in 2005, from around 98,000 tons in 2004.

The increase in exports to Japan will help boost total Thai cooked chicken exports to 350,000 tons this year.

Japan banned chicken imports from Thailand after the bird flu outbreak was confirmed here last January. It later approved imports of cooked Thai chicken, but only from processing plants that meet Japan`s hygiene standards. Japan is the largest importer of Thai chicken and chicken products.

Japan and other importing countries, including the European Union, which is the second largest buyer of Thai chickens, have yet to lift import bans on uncooked Thai chickens.

Im Juli gibt es die letzen CPF2 Warrants, die Aktienanzahl verwässern. Danach traue ich der Aktie bis in 2006 hinein gute +20% zu.
Freitag gibts 0.12 Baht Quartals-Dividende . Bezogen auf den momentanen Aktienkurs 3,8%.

Die Dividende besteht aus zwei Teilen:

1. Teil: Stückzahl * 0,08 Baht ( abzüglich Quellensteuer )
2. Teil: Stückzahl * 0,04 Baht ( keine Quellensteuer )

-> Die Dividende: 0,12 Baht/Aktie mit ein wenig Steuervorteil ...

Die Ausübung der Optionen ist unwahrscheinlich geworden -> Annahme ~0,7 Baht Gewinn/Aktie -> KGV derzeit bei ~7.
Bewertung derzeit fair.
