(Infocast News) PCCW (1186) and Legend (0992) announced to form strategic alliance to speed up their development of broadband Internet connection services in order to promote PCCW`s broadband Internet NOW services in mainland.
Legend will design and manufacture an installed new generation decoder in personal computers in order to enable users to use high-speed online services. Otherwise, Legend will equip their computers with special buttons to enable users to conncet NOW network. The computers will be renamed as Legend-NOW personal computer.
On the other hand, PCCW and Legend will coorperate to develop Internet content and network services in mainland.

The fabulous Legend, 992, soared by $10 yesterday, and closed at $45.20, a rise of this already rather expensive stock of 28%. Legend is to tie up with PCCW, 1186, to develop broadband internet services on the mainland. At this price Legend is capitalised at $80 billion. Legend has already proposed a one for four split, and this latest rise will bring the new share price to around $11.30. But although one of the reasons for the split is to increase market ability, as the shares currently have a minimum 2000 board lot, a level which now means a large cost of $90,000 for a minimum board lot. But this change will still be hold the purchase price required to be quite high as that, 2000, will not be reduced to what would seem to be a more normal 1000 board lot parcel. But Legend`s supporters will be encouraged by the results of Giordano, 709, which had announced a nearly 5 times profit to $360 million.
Giordano, up 30 cents to $9.75, yesterday had increased its sales by 18%to $3.1 billion, so the profit margin is now 11.5%. During 1995 and 1996, before the crash Giordano had managed to lock in sales of around $3.5 billion, but in those days they could only manage to earn about $250 million, or about 7%. The profit rise came in the second of the year when they had earned $230 million on sales of $1.66 billion, after earning $130 million on sales of$1.43 billion during the first half.
In Legend`s train were its seeming bridesmaids Founder, 418, up $1.10 to $7.15 and Stone Electronic, 409, up 50 cents to $3.875. These companies, both China oriented, are not in any direct way associated, but they do seem to share the same market trends

danke für die Infos zum Taipan-Börsenbrief. Leider hat der Loggin mit dem "Durchbruch" nicht geklappt. Habe mir ein kostenloses Probeabo bestellt. Bin schon gespannt. Was meinst du, wird am Montag ne Ernüchterung gebe? Muss es ja fast... knapp 50% in zwei Tagen- etwas zu heftig- andererseits habe ich bei 4,7 auch gedacht sie rutschen nochmal auf die 4,2 runter. Naja, bin ja schon seit ein paar Monaten drin. Passt! Viel Erfolg beim Traden, BerniM
