Hallo GN,
das Thema ist äusserst interessant und ich sehe es sehr langfristig. Habe damals den Nordseeboom mitgemacht und warum sollte sich das in dieser Region wiederholen? Das nächste Jahr dürfte sehr spannend sein, zuvor kommt das IPO, da sollten neueste Erkenntnisse dann vorgelegt werden.

OFFSHORE

Hierunter versteht man die Erdöl- und Erdgaserschließung vor der Festlandsküste und in größeren Binnengewässern. Hier befinden sich über 25% der weltweit nachgewiesenen (.) Ölreserven. Gegenwärtig stammt etwa ein Viertel der Welterdölförderung aus Offshore-Vorkommen.
Die Ölförderung aus Offshore-Vorkommen ist sehr teuer. Eine typische Suchbohrung in der Nordsee erfordert zwischen 3 und 16 Millionen Dollar. Wird man ölfündig, so müssen für den Bau einer Förderplattform weitere Investitionen erbracht werden, die je nach Größe und Wassertiefe zwischen 400 Millionen und 1,5Milliarden Dollar schwanken. Diese Investitionen sind im Hinblick auf eine ausreichende Verfügbarkeit und Diversifikation der Ölquellen notwendig.
Auf der Suche nach Öl ist man in den letzen Jahren in immer größere Meerestiefen vorgedrungen.
Im Golf von Mexiko arbeiten bereits Förderanlagen in 2.000 m Tiefe.

Oil industry targets South Atlantic.
Repsol-YPF Argentina’s main hydrocarbons producer and other foreign companies will be investing over 300 million US dollars in oil and gas exploration in the South Atlantic and offshore Buenos Aires province during 2005.
Strong international oil prices and the liberation of the natural gas price in Argentina are seen as the main driving force behind the new push following one of the country’s worst energy crisis that forced serious restrictions in overseas natural gas shipments particularly to Chile.
According to the Argentine press, French owned Total Austral, Wintershall from Germany and Anglo-argentine Pan American Energy will be investing in the coming nine months 114 million US dollars in the austral basin, Southwest Atlantic.
The group already has invested 256 million US dollars in the area and expects a production between 4 and 7 million cubic meters of natural gas from seven wells which will be drilled beginning next September.
Respsol-YPF has also plans to invest 70 million US dollars in the austral basin taking advantage of wells drilled several years ago and which remain locked.
Further south, offshore Tierra del Fuego, several of these companies will continue exploring the area which is rich in natural gas.
Repsol-YPF associated with the American company Pioneer has plans to explore for hydrocarbons offshore Buenos Aires province, once the Argentine government gives the official authorization. Petrobras is also interested in the same basin.
“This is the less developed of Argentine basins but some exploratory drilling has signaled the possible presence of hydrocarbons”, said Walter Schmale president of the Argentine Oil and Gas Institute.
But Mr. Schmale also pointed out that to make findings “drilling is essential, but this means favorable geological, price, fiscal and contract certainty conditions”, since the oil industry works with a “future horizon” and an offshore project “demands between 7 and 10 years before reaching production”.

Eine Bohrinsel, die man für die Falklandinseln brauchen würde, würde ca 1Mrd. USD kosten.
Lustigerweise würde eine Ölförderung dort 18 USD Kosten pro Barel übersteigen.
Die buchtechnischen Ölreserven der arabischen Ölländer wird als Bilanzfäschung deklariert.
Die Firma hat vermutlich nicht den geringsten Plan, wo man eine Millarde für eine Bohrinsel auftreiben sollte.
Das Rauschmittel ist Gier.
Und wie bei jedem Rausch wird das Hirn ausgeschaltet.

New oil company to explore offshore South and East Falklands
24-06-04 Falkland Islands Holdings (FIH) announced that in conjunction with its joint venture partners, Global Petroleum and Hardman Resources Limited (HRL), that it has reached agreement with RAB Special Situations Fund, a fund managed by AIM listed hedge fund manager, RAB Capital to fund the next 12 to 18 months work on their petroleum exploration licence offshore the Falkland Islands.
The work programme includes the design, implementation, processing and interpretation of a 2D seismic survey. This follows mapping in 2003 of 4,340 km of purchased seismic data, which has identified a number of leads in water depths of 400-1,850 metres. The leads comprise targets with the potential to contain 200 mm to 2.5 bn barrels of oil.
Under the agreement, the Joint Venture will also be restructured forming a new company, Falkland Oil and Gas Limited (FOGL). FOGL will own 77.5 % of the licences with the remaining 22.5 % to be held by Hardman. The shareholdings in FOGL will be RAB 45.4 %, FIC 28.9 % and Global 25.7 %.
The Board of FOGL will comprise representatives of RAB, FIC and Global and the initial Chairman will be Dr John Armstrong, Executive Chairman of Global Petroleum. FOGL has contracted Dampier Oil, a wholly owned subsidiary of Global Petroleum, to operate the project during the seismic period.
Under the new arrangement, FOGL will contribute $ 3.6 mm (as a result of share subscriptions to FOGL of $ 2.2 mm by RAB; $ 1.1 mm by FIH and $ 0.5 mm by Global) and Hardman $ 0.9 mm to a new $ 4.5 mm survey to better detail leads in the offshore Falkland Islands licence areas.
At present, the FOGL-Hardman Joint Venture plans a 3,500 km survey but this may be expanded subject to tenders received and whether a non-exclusive arrangement can be agreed with the seismic contractor.
The licences cover an area of 33,700 sq km and are located to the south and east of the Falkland Islands. No wells have been drilled in these areas. However, two wells in the adjacent Malvinas Basin to the west have flowed 3,000bpd (Calamar No. 1) and 20 mm cfpd (Salmon No. 2) from the Cretaceous Springhill Formation whose equivalents are expected to occur in the new Joint Venture’s licences.
These oil and gas flows offer support to the view that the Joint Venture’s licences contain an active petroleum system within the 8,000 metres of Late Jurassic to Tertiary sedimentary section. The south and east Falkland areas are geologically distinct from the North Falkland Basin which was the focus for oil exploration activity during 1996-98.
FOGL plans to seek an eventual admission to the UK Alternative Investment Market (AIM).
David Hudd, Chairman of Falkland Islands Holdings said: "The creation of a new, fully funded oil exploration company that mirrors our minerals venture is an exciting development. FIH is well-placed to benefit, both directly and indirectly, from increased levels of activity in these sectors."

Amarada Hess contracts for drilling rig for Falklands
Sept. 10, 1997 Amerada Hess has signed a three-year contract with Norwegian-based Dolphin Drilling Ltd for a rig to drill the first well off the disputed Falkland Islands in the south Atlantic in May 1998.
The Borgny Dolphin rig will go into a yard in western Norway for the upgrades necessary to enable it to drill in water depths up to 500 metres, Hess said. Amerada Hess was one of 12 companies awarded a licence in the first Falklands oil round last October.
As operator of tranche A, Hess will drill the first well to the north of the islands.
Three other operators, Shell, British independent Lasmo and International Petroleum Corp of Canada, have joined Hess in the Falklands Offshore Sharing Agreement (FOSA) to split the costs of exploration drilling and an operational base on the islands.
The rig contract is expected to run from February next year. It is owned by the private Norwegian shipping and oil services group Fred Olsen Ltd.
The operators will share equally the costs of commissioning therig and its round trip from the North Sea to the south Atlantic -- estimated at nearly $ 9 million -- but drilling costs will be apportioned on the basis of the number of days each company requires.
Lasmo will drill the second well, followed by Shell and then IPC. The rig will then return to Amerada Hess for a second well, sources said.
Despite Buenos Aires` constitutional claim to the islands, Britain and Argentina restored diplomatic links in 1989 and signed an agreement on framework for oil and gas exploration in Falkland waters in 1995.
Last October, the Port Stanley authorities issued licences covering about 12,800 sq. km north of the islands.
Industry analysts said the area could contain 2 or 3 billion barrels of oil.
