Ich hab mir gedacht ich eröffne mal einen neuen Thread zu Avant, nachdem der alte Thread gesponnen hat und Nachrichten erst Monate später veröffentlich hat.

Mich würde interessieren, ob es hier noch Aktionäre von Avant gibt und wie sie die Zukunft des Unternehmens einschätzen. Ich bin selbst seit dem Jahr 2000 investiert. War früher immer von den Beiträge von Dr. Damian beeindruckt. Von ihm hat man leider schon lange nix mehr gehört...Würd mich jedanfalls freuen, mal wieder von ihm zu hören.

Massachusetts Biotechnology Council Sees Vision of MassBiotech 2010 Report Articulated as AVANT Immunotherapeutics Opens Manufacturing Facility in Fall River

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- New Massachusetts Biotechnology Council (MBC) President Thomas Finneran will attend the November 5, 2004 official opening of AVANT Immunotherapeutics (Nachrichten).`s manufacturing facility in Fall River, MA as the locally based life science company helps to fulfill the economic development vision outlined in the MBC/BCG MassBiotech 2010 Report (http://www.massbiotech2010.com/). hab auch schon mal erfolglos einen neuen AVAN-Thread eröffnet, nachdem ein älterer verschwunden war...

Habe auch noch ein paar AVAN (im Kühlschrank ganz unten, wo das Gemüse schlecht wird)


Heute gibt´s aber mal was, und ich warte auch schon seit ein paar Tagen auf plötzliche Kursbewegungen (gekauft hab ich leider nix, aber wie auch bei dem dünnen Volumen hier in D).
Hier die Meldung zum heutigen Kursgewinn (Tsunamigewinnler?? Das mag ich ja irgendwie kaum glauben, zumal AVAN ja erst in Phase II ist und dann das Volumen zehnfach? Vielleicht noch was anderes.)

BOSTON (CBS.MW) -- Shares of cholera vaccine developer Avant Immunotherapeutics rose almost 20 percent amid reports that demand for such drugs will be intense following this week`s catastrophic earthquake and tsunamis in Asia.

Vaccine maker Avant`s shares jump after Asia disaster


Avant (AVAN: news, chart, profile) shares jumped 19.70 percent to $2.43 during an extremely quiet day for the biotechnology sector on Wall Street.

Avant, a small vaccine developer based in Needham, Mass., has an experimental cholera vaccine in late Phase II clinical trials. Cholera is an often fatal disease caused by contaminated drinking water.

Although there has been a cholera vaccine available for almost 40 years, it is not recommended by the World Health Organization because it is considered to be too ineffective, according to that group`s Web site.

According to analyst Kate Winkler of Merriman Curhan Ford & Co., news reports that world health officials are bracing for record cholera outbreaks in flooded areas were fueling the stock`s rally.

Winkler was quick to point out, however, that Avant would likely not be benefiting from the current demand for cholera drugs as its vaccine was not yet approved for use.

"This is a stock that tends to be driven by the Internet chat boards," said Winkler of the stock`s movement. "It`s more of an awareness of for the need for cholera vaccines than the possibility of revenue being generated from this current crisis."

Officials at Avant could not be reached on Tuesday.

Der gestrige kurssprung war, meiner Meinung nach, von Spekulanten getrieben. Evtl. haben auch einige kalte Füsse bekommen und haben ihre Positionen glattgestellt. Der Aktienkurs von Avant wird, nach meiner Meinung, seit fast einem Jahr manipuliert und künstlich unten gehalten. Auch eine Übernahme im kommenden Jahr ist, nach meiner Meinung, absolut möglich.

Folgende Facts sprechen für baldige Kurse über US$ 5:

- Rotarix wird ab 2005 einige Millionen $ in die Kasse spülen, ab 2006/2007 sind für Avant evtl. 40-80 Mio. $ möglich

- TP-10 liegt gut im Rennen, obwohl die Ergebnisse im Jahr 2001(?) enttäuscht haben. Das Unternehmen verspricht sich nach wie vor ein Umsatzpotenzial von ca. 500 Millionen $ pro Jahr

- CETi-1 wird mit neuen Dosierungen überarbeitet, evtl. Markteinführung liegt noch weit weg, aber Potenzial wäre enorm

- Anthrax/Plaque Impfstoffe werden vom Staat mitfinanziert und die Avant`s neue Produktionsanlage und Labore versprechen neue Kontrakte, kürzere Entwicklungszeiten und Kosteneinsparungen

- CholeraGarde dürfte von vielen Ländern und Organisationen unterstützt werden. Margen sind bestimmt nicht riesig, ABER DER NUTZEN FüR DIE MENSCHHEIT dafür umso grösser. Das Produkt wird fast sicher auf den Markt kommen. Die klinischen Test waren überzeugend.

- Vitrilife ist ebenfalls interessant, da Impfstoffe in den kommenden Jahrzenten, nach meiner Meinung, immer wichtiger werden. Ein Transport ohne jegliche Kühlung könnte, dank Vitrilife, Tatsache werden.

Ich wünsche mir, dass die Welt in Zukunft von solchen Katastrophen verschont bleibt. Das Leid auf der ganzen Welt macht mich sehr traurig. Guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr.
