OT: Rare Element Resources

Australian-based Arafura Resources
NL [ARU-ASX] has a 100% interest in
the Nolans Bore rare earth project located
about 130 kilometres north of Alice
Springs, in Australia’s Northern Territory.
The project hosts a resource of 18.6 million
tonnes of Indicated and Inferred resources
(JORC compliant) comprising 577,000
tonnes of rare earth oxide grading 3.1%,
2.6 million tonnes of phosphate pentoxide
grading 14% P2O5 and 8.7 million tonnes
of U3O8 (uranium) grading 0.47 lb/tonne.
The next phase of drilling is being undertaken
in conjunction with metallurgical
testwork. Company geologists believe that
resources will increase as new mineralized
veins have been discovered.
While there aren’t many rare earth companies
controlled by Western interests, no
doubt those that make it to the production
stage will fill a much needed gap in the rare
earth industry.
