HydroFlo Forms Fifth Portfolio Company

RALEIGH, NC--(MARKET WIRE)--Jul 18, 2005 -- HydroFlo, Inc. (OTC BB:HYRF.OB - News) today announced the newest addition to its portfolio of businesses, Advanced Water Recycle, Inc. (AWRI). The latest corporation will combine resources from each of HydroFlo`s current portfolio companies to provide customers with water recycling and reuse.

AWRI will initially concentrate sales efforts of its technologies across the United States coast lines and all ports. To achieve the acceptable levels of contaminant free water in compliance with Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards, AWRI will utilize multiple aspects of each of HydroFlo`s current portfolio companies. AWRI will make use of HydroFlo Water Treatment`s aeration and new HDAF units to offer the proper ventilation and conditions for the pretreatment of wastewater. Metals and Arsenic Removal Technology will provide its ARTI-64TM technology and other purification methods to assist with the final purification of the water. 6/29/2005 Raleigh, NC — HydroFlo Water Treatment, Inc. (HWTI), a portfolio company of HydroFlo, Inc., has begun the sales of its new HydroFlo Dissolved Air Flotation (HDAF) unit to an undisclosed DAF manufacturer. The first system will be manufactured for retrofitting into an existing application in California. The HDAF unit has been proven to provide comparable removal efficiencies using a fraction of the recycled water normally required in DAF operations, thus allowing for lower horsepower costs per gallon treated.
In addition to retrofitting into existing applications, the latest product developed by HWTI is also built for new installations. EYI Expands Pitcher and Filter Order From MARTI

As the demand for MARTI products grows, the contract will be reevaluated to ensure adequate product supply.

Safety Scan Technology Works With NASA Outreach Program to Assist in Aquacorder Development

RALEIGH, NC--(MARKET WIRE)--Jul 7, 2005 -- Safety Scan Technology, Inc. (SSTI) a portfolio company of HydroFlo, Inc. (OTC BB:HYRF.OB - News) today announced the assistance of NASA-funded Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program (SATOP) to help streamline their revolutionary technology, the Aquacorder. The challenge is to make the device compact in order to scan and analyze contaminants in water systems.

The technology, Swept Frequency Acoustic Interferometry (SFAI), was originally created by Dr. Dipen N. Sinha with Los Alamos National Laboratories. It utilizes high frequency sound waves to analyze and detect pre-programmed contaminants in water systems through metal, glass, ceramic, and plastic barriers. SFAI has been in use for several years by the federal government as well as for the internal purposes at LANL.

"This technology will allow our customers the ability to analyze their water supply immediately and without opening the container," said Mike Doss, Safety Scan Technology`s Chief Operating Officer. Potential clients for SFAI and the advanced scanner include desalinization plants, beverage bottling processes, and semiconductor and pharmaceutical manufacturers, which need to verify incoming water purity.

SSTI approached SATOP for assistance in consolidating the electronics associated with SFAI into a smaller, potentially hand-held sized unit, in contrast to the bulkier equipment currently in use. "This new technology is light-years ahead of anything else on the market right now and should revolutionize the way water is controlled and analyzed," said Christophe Gilfriche, SATOP Florida senior program engineer.

Dan Kovach reviewed the technology and once he had a thorough grasp of the concept, he was able to identify circuit configurations that could be implemented, confirm that the device could indeed be miniaturized, and provide suggestions on how to achieve the miniaturization.

"My research concluded that the SFAI device can be miniaturized to the size of a commercially available handheld device using commercially available components," Kovach said.

In addition, Kovach suggested rearranging the components and provided a list of options for consideration, such as a wireless system or separate monitor. He also advised that SSTI avoid components that contain lead due to potential bans on such components in various markets throughout the world. Lastly, Kovach provided suggestions for alternative methods for design and different graphical display options.

"Dan`s advice will help us bring our product to the prototype stage faster, and we will be able to move more quickly to make the device smaller," Doss said. Development of a working prototype is under way, and once completed the company will perform extensive field testing.

"We were looking for guidance about our micro circuitry, with the goal of saving a step or two in development down the road," Doss said. "We certainly received that and more from Dan, not to mention the opportunity to be associated with a great program like SATOP."

EYI Industries Enters Letter of Intent Worth an Estimated US$210 Million

BURNABY, British Columbia, Aug. 11, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- EYI Industries Inc. (``EYI``) (OTC BB:EYII.OB - News) (http://www.EYIcom.com), a marketer of products that promote well-being and a healthy lifestyle, is pleased to announce that it has entered into a Letter of Intent (``LOI``) for the sale of an undisclosed number of Patented Code Blue(tm) filtration systems over a 2-year period with the Guangzhou CEIEC Enterprise (GROUP) CO. LTD. (``Guangzhou CEIEC``), a subsidiary of The China National Electronics Import & Export Corporation (``CEIEC``).

The CEIEC, located in South China, is the largest exporter and importer of electronic products in China and was the first Chinese enterprise to establish sales and cooperative relations with foreign brand name enterprises such as Hitachi, Sharp, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Siemens, Casio, Phillips, Hewlett-Packard, LG and Samsung. Currently, the CEIEC is under the direction of the Chinese government and has extensive business relations with nearly 100 countries and regions and imports/exports over US$1 Billion in products every year.

The Code Blue(tm) portable water filtration system removes Arsenic and other contaminates to a negligible level from drinking water. China`s large rural population and poor infrastructure in those outlying regions have created a huge demand for the Code Blue(tm) system which will facilitate the removal of harmful toxins from water, making it safe for human consumption.

Under the terms of the agreement, Guangzhou CEIEC will acquire agency rights from EYI Industries to distribute the Code Blue(tm) filtration system throughout China, and will commit to the purchase of US$210 Million worth of product as per the following schedule:

Arsen: Das reaktionsfreudige, farb-, geruch- und geschmacklose Halbmetall kommt als Spurenelement überall vor – in Gestein, Pflanzen und Tieren; in eher harmlosen organischen und in, zum Teil, hochgiftigen anorganischen Formen. Am gefährlichsten ist chemisch dreiwertiges Arsen, sogenanntes Arsenit. Es blockiert im tierischen wie menschlichen Körper die Bildung mehrerer für den Zellstoffwechsel wichtiger Enzyme, vor allem des Enzyms Adenosin-tri-Phosphat, kurz ATP. Arsenit wird als Rattengift, als Desinfektions- und Entlaubungsmittel genutzt. In Bangladesh hat Arsenit, das im Grundwasser vorkommt, die größte Massenvergiftung der Menschheitsgeschichte heraufbeschworen. In dem kleinen Land mit 130 Millionen Einwohnern auf zweimal der Fläche Bayerns tranken die Menschen früher aus Tümpeln und Teichen, in denen zugleich Kühe und Wasserbüffel badeten. Hunderttausende starben Jahr für Jahr an Bakterieninfektionen wie Cholera und Durchfall – bis Anfang der 70er Jahre das Kinderhilfswerk der Vereinten Nationen, UNICEF, den Bau von Tiefbrunnen initiierte. Heute trinken 95 Prozent der ländlichen Bevölkerung in Bangladesh bakteriologisch einwandfreies Grundwasser aus insgesamt zehn Millionen Brunnen. Schon Ende der 80er Jahre jedoch stießen Ärzte auf arsenbedingte Hauterkrankungen; Chemiker fanden erschreckend hohe Arsen-Werte im Grundwasser. Ihre Alarmrufe blieben zunächst unbeachtet. Erst seit 1997 versuchen die Regierung Bangladeshs und UNICEF das Ausmaß der Katastrophe festzustellen. Mit Hilfe zahlreicher Nichtregierungsorganisationen wurden bislang etwa 800.000 Brunnen getestet. Das niederschmetternde Ergebnis: Etwa 27 Prozent aller Brunnen sind verseucht – manche mit Arsen-Konzentrationen von 14 Milligramm pro Liter Wasser, dem 1.400-fachen des Grenzwerts der Weltgesundheitsorganisation WHO, der bei zehn Mikrogramm oder 0,01 Milligramm pro Liter liegt. Zwischen 40 und 50 Millionen Bangladeshis trinken Wasser, das mehr als das Zehnfache des WHO-Grenzwerts an anorganischem Arsen enthält. 300.000 Menschen sind nach Expertenschätzungen schwer erkrankt; schon jeder zehnte Krebsfall in Bangladesh ist arsenbedingter Haut-, Lungen- oder Blasenkrebs. „Warum hat über Jahrzehnte niemand das Gift im Grundwasser wahrgenommen?“ frage ich einen, der es wissen sollte – den UNICEF-Wasserexperten Jan Willem Rosenboom. „Wir von UNICEF tragen keine Schuld“, sagt Rosenboom.
