Remarks:

1. Basis of preparation

The accounts have been prepared in accordance with
accounting principles generally accepted in Hong Kong and
comply with accounting standards issued by the Hong Kong
Institute of Certified Public Accountants ("HKICPA") and
the disclosure requirements of the Hong Kong Companies Ordinance.
They have been prepared under the historical cost convention
except that investments are stated at fair value.

The HKICPA issued a number of new and revised
Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards and
Hong Kong Accounting Standards ("new HKFRSs") which are effective
for accounting periods beginning on or after 1st January 2005.
The Group has not early adopted these new HKFRSs in the accounts
for the year ended 31st March 2005. The Group has already
commenced an assessment of the impact of these new HKFRSs
but is not yet in a position to state whether these new HKFRSs
would have a significant impact on its results of operations
and financial position.


2. Loss per share

The calculation of basic loss per share for the
year ended 31st March 2005 is based on the consolidated loss
attributable to shareholders of approximately HK$10,443,000
(2004: HK$25,711,000) and the weighted average of
approximately 1,596,443,000 (2004: 1,575,758,000)
ordinary shares in issue during the year.

No diluted loss per share is presented as the
outstanding warrants and share options were anti-dilutive.


3. Dividends

The Directors do not recommend the payment of a final dividend
for the year ended 31st March 2005.

im letzten jahr lag der verlust bei 25 millionen, aber nur wegen einer einmaligen sonderabschreibung einer investmentabeteiligung bei across asia multimedia.

ohne abschreibung war im letzten jahr der verlust bei etwa 5 millionen.

nun ist er bei 10 millionen, das wars dann wohl.

iSteelAsia veröffentlichte heute die Jahresergebnisse für das Finanzjahr vom April 2004 bis zum Ende März 2005.

Jahresvergleich:
Umsatz: 860 Mio HKD (F-jahr 2004/2005) ___ 1429 Mio HKD (F-jahr 2003/2004)
Profit: - 10,4 Mio HKD (F-jahr 2004/2005) __ - 25,7 Mio HKD (F-jahr 2003/2004)

Quartalsvergleich:
Umsatz: 114 Mio HKD (4. Quartal FJ 2004/2005) _____ 313 Mio HKD (4. Quartal FJ 2003/2004)
Profit:__ - 2,6 Mio HKD(4. Quartal FJ 2004/2005) __ - 19,3 Mio HKD (4. Quartal FJ 2003/2004)

Die Verringerung des Verlustes könnte man als Verbesserung der Situation von iSteelAsia interpretieren. Das wäre aber wohl schönfärberisch. iSteel scheint Stück für Stück in eine prekäre Situation zu kommen. Der Umsatz sinkt kontinuierlich und hat im letzten Quartal ein Mehrjahrestief markiert. Kennzeichnend ist auch der Rückgang bei den Mitarbeitern. Gegenüber 80 im letzten Jahr sind es jetzt nur noch 42 Beschäftigte.

Im Jahresbericht redet das Management von verringerten Kreditaufnahmemöglichkeiten: "The decrease in equity value caused by the group`s losses over the years, coupled with the macro sentiment of an increasingly risky profile for the volatile steel sector has prompted a tightening of banking resources available to the group."
