Paladin Energy requests for voluntary suspension on ASX

REQUEST FOR VOLUNTARY SUSPENSION

Paladin Energy Ltd. has provided an update on its previous announcements regarding its efforts to achieve a long-term debt restructure solution for the benefit of all stakeholders. In particular, Paladin refers to the recent independent expert findings that the value of the security offered by Paladin to Electricite de France SA (EDF) under its long-term supply contract is insufficient.

The company requests a voluntary suspension of its securities from trading on the Australian Securities Exchange, effective immediately pending resolution of this matter. Paladin advises that:

Paladin has approached EDF to negotiate the terms of a standstill to defer Paladin's obligation to pay the outstanding amount (being approximately $277-million (U.S.)). Pending resolution of this matter, there is uncertainty regarding Paladin's ability to successfully achieve any debt restructure, the outcome of which is critical to Paladin's continued financial viability.
Paladin is currently taking advice on the above and expects the voluntary suspension will continue until it has resolved how to progress the standstill. Paladin currently expects that this may take until at least the end of June, 2017.
Paladin is not aware of any reason why the securities should not be suspended.
Paladin is not aware of any other information necessary to inform the market about the suspension at this time.

Kenne so was - ich hoffe, Du bist nicht (mehr) dabei?

so in etwa habe ich mir das vorgestellt.

das bittere ende einer der heißesten uranstories in diesem (noch jungen) jahrtausend.
und die moral von der geschicht?
vielleicht kann jemand von den alten hasen die die geschichte mehr oder weniger von anfang an mitverfolgt haben bisl aufarbeiten was gut lief, was eher hätte besser laufen können oder was eben nicht zu beeinflussen war (fukushima und uranbaisse mal außen vor gelassen)!

nach dem motto, lass dich nie mit den chinesen ein (bisl pauschalisiert)!?!
checke stets die leute bis aufs blut mit denen du in ein JV gehst?
letztlich gibts wohl aber zu viele ungewissheiten die von außen nur schwer oder gar nicht einzusehen sind/waren. von daher ist es wohl äußerst schwierig sich ein klares bild von der gesamtlage zu machen.
vielleicht kann ja trotzdem jemand was sagen.

Hallo Expertchen ,

wenn der Laden von der Boerse genommen wird ,wieviel wird es deiner Meinung pro Aktie noch geben?
Habe leider immer noch einen Restbestand ,da ich bis zuletzt an eine Kehrtwende geglaubt habe.

Hallo,

weiß ich leider nicht.
Klar ist wohl nur wenn die nicht mehr an die ASX kommen und ab 14.08 auch TSX wegfällt gibts wohl nix mehr.

Allerdings ist das offen , ich kanns Dir echt nicht sagen , mehr wirds wohl erst mal nicht werden.

Musst mal abwarten was rauskommt mit den 277 Mio ob die nach den 30 Tagen zahlbar sind oder was da passiert.

Schade um PDN , aber so ist es halt

Rescue effort under way as loan keeps Paladin afloat

Paladin Energy administrators have secured a $US60 million, 12-month financing facility to keep the company operating while they work on a rescue deal for the collapsed uranium miner.

The Deutsche Bank loan will refinance secured debt with Nedbank, keep the company’s Langer Heinrich mine in Namibia operating and provide additional working capital across the group.

Administrator and KPMG’s head of restructuring services, Matthew Wood, said the short-term facility would provide a bridge to a more holistic recapitalisation and restructuring, but could also form part of the solution.

On Friday, Paladin’s administrators announced that an independent expert had put a price tag of $US583 million on the company’s Langer Heinrich mine, over which China’s CNNC has an option to buy its 75 per cent stake in the operation.

CNNC already holds 25 per cent of the mine, having paid $US190 million for it in 2014.

The company has another 25 days to exercise its option, which would be expected to deliver Paladin about $US416 million.

Mr Wood said CNNC’s decision on Langer Heinrich would drive the recapitalisation strategy for Paladin.

But he said administrators could see a way forward for a restructure and recapitalisation in either scenario and would continue to work with all stakeholders in the pursuit of a solution that maximised value.

Also on Friday, administrators announced that Paladin had been delisted from the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Its Australian-listed shares are suspended, having last changed hands for 4.7¢.

Paladin called in administrators on July 4 when its French offtake partner, Electricite de France, called in a $US277 million ($361 million) loan, which the heavily indebted miner could not repay.

Meanwhile, Paladin’s former chief executive Alex Molyneux has been appointed executive chairman of listed explorer Crater Gold Mining.

Crater, which holds the Crater Mountain gold project in Papua New Guinea, will be recapitalised via a $15 million rights issue and non-core asset sale and be renamed Paradise Gold Mining.

Mr Molyneux will be paid $US22,500 a month and be eligible for up to 75.5 million in performance rights convertible into ordinary shares on achievement of key milestones.
