Americold Donates $140,000 to Help Fight Childhood Hunger with Feed the Children

Americold Realty Trust (NYSE: COLD) (“Americold”), the world’s largest publicly traded REIT focused on the ownership, operation and development of temperature-controlled warehouses, has partnered with Feed the Children, a leading international nonprofit, to fight childhood hunger and provide toys to vulnerable children across the U.S. The official partnership was kicked off by an employee campaign and corporate donation in which Americold raised a total of $140,000 that helped provide meals for thousands of hungry children.

During the months of March and April, Americold challenged its Associates to support a toy and game drive called March Gladness. Americold’s North American sites participated in this initiative to spread joy to children living below the poverty line, as well as support the development of young children and promote the importance of playtime. At the end of the campaign, employees donated more than 7,300 toys and bicycles for children, valued at approximately $75,000.

In addition to the funds raised by its Associates, Americold has committed to hosting multiple Feed the Children Backpack Build events to support local students in Title I schools. All backpacks will feature items such as notebooks, pens, folders and other much-needed school supplies. These supplies will support at-risk students across America and help give them hope for a brighter future.

The two organizations will also host a community distribution event where hundreds of local families will receive a 25-pound box of food; a 10-pound box of essentials such as shampoo, conditioner, lotion and personal-care items; as well as additional items such as children’s books.

With the support of friends like Americold, every dollar given to Feed the Children goes seven times as far to provide families with food, hope, dignity and comfort. Feed the Children can maximize its efforts and turn $1 into $7 thanks to generous corporate partners that provide donations of food, school supplies and essentials throughout the year.
