221  0 Kommentare Musselshell County Burn Permits Available Online

Beginning this month, the citizens of Musselshell County will be able to buy a burn permit without standing in line or even leaving home.

The Musselshell County Burn Permit service will be available beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, online at www.BurnPermits.mt.gov. Through the new website, citizens will have instant access to purchase permits, add multiple burn locations to a single permit, and print permits at home or send permits to themselves electronically by entering an email address. The online service accepts both debit and credit cards and electronic checks.

The new service features an interactive map that allows citizens and county personnel to view all current burn activity within the county. When a permit holder activates a permit by entering the permit number and the start and stop times of the burn, county fire and emergency personnel are immediately notified.

“This County Burn Permit service will make it easier and more informative for an individual to purchase and activate their burn permit,” said Musselshell County Disaster and Emergency Coordinator Floyd Fisher. “The service will help to cut down the amount of general calls that are made to the 911 dispatch center asking about smoke or where a fire is. This will also give dispatch the opportunity to deal with other emergency calls in a less stressful event and not have all their phones ringing at the same time.”

Citizens can also activate a permit by calling the county’s new automated phone system at 877-806-7806. Citizens may still obtain a burn permit in person at the Musselshell County DES Office, 704 1st Street East, or at the Clerk and Recorders office at 506 Main St in Roundup. Both new and renewed permits cost $6.
