On Wednesday, Oct. 23, customers will experience a new, larger and more convenient Food Lion store location at 142 St. James Ave., in Goose Creek, S.C.

The store will open to the public at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, following a 7:45 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony, where the first 100 customers in line will receive a mystery Food Lion gift card valued $10. One lucky winner will receive a $200 Food Lion gift card. The first 100 customers also will receive a Food Lion reusable grocery bag.

Customers shopping the store will be able to choose from an expanded variety of products, including in-store fresh-cut fruit and vegetables, in-store made hand-battered buttermilk fried chicken, and many other new items. In addition, the store will feature “Grab-n-go” meals to help make dinner easier for customers and an expanded health and beauty section.

“We are proud to have been a member of this community since 1984,” said Tyrell McPherson, store manager. “We are very excited about the opening of this new store that will give our neighbors an expanded assortment of foods to choose from to nourish their families. In addition, this store is a more convenient place where shopping is easy, fresh and always affordable.”

The new store will provide families with affordable options from Food Lion’s Nature’s Promise beef, pork, poultry, milk, eggs, bottled water, cereal, coffee and other items.

Nature’s Promise is Food Lion’s brand of wholesome and organic products that your family can trust because they are made with no artificial flavors, preservatives or synthetic colors. Customers also will continue to enjoy Food Lion’s Taste of Inspirations premium quality line of products, which are backed by its 100 percent money back guarantee.

Starting Oct. 28, the store will feature the company’s new Food Lion To-Go service. Customers can visit, enter one of the participating zip codes, and select this store or the closest participating store. With just the click of a button from a computer or mobile device, Food Lion To-Go allows customers to order groceries, fill a virtual cart with the grocery items, and have their own personal shopper to make available same-day pick up at their scheduled time, without ever having to enter a store.

To demonstrate Food Lion’s on-going support of the Goose Creek community, Food Lion will donate more than 10,000 meals, both fresh and non-perishable, to Helping Hands food pantry to help feed hungry local families. Food Lion associates will stock their pantry and help to distribute items to their clients on Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m.

The new Goose Creek store will be open daily from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m.
