Northland Power Renews Preliminary Base Shelf Prospectus

TORONTO, June 09, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Northland Power Inc. ("Northland" or the "Company") (TSX: NPI) today filed a preliminary short form base shelf prospectus with the securities regulatory
authorities in each of the provinces of Canada. This filing, when made final, will replace Northland's expiring base shelf prospectus dated May 24, 2018 and will enable Northland to offer an
aggregate of up to $1 billion of common shares, preferred shares, warrants, unsecured debentures, subscription receipts and units or any combination thereof, over a 25-month period.
Northland has no immediate intent to issue securities as a result of this renewal filing.
This renewal filing of Northland's existing short form base shelf prospectus maintains Northland's financial flexibility and shall provide efficient access to the Canadian capital markets when capital is required.
