Ms. Müller-Bierbaum, what courses of study does the MD.H Mediadesign University of Applied Sciences (UAS) specialise in?
Mediadesign has already positioned itself as an innovative pioneer in a digitalising creative industry in the mid-nineties. The first training courses and study programmes focused on design and development, very quickly IT specialisations and a media informatics course were added. With the recognition as a university in 2004, the educational portfolio has been continually adapted to current market requirements with the focus on design, development, management and conception and has also been expanded in other specialist areas, for example fashion. Particular milestones were the introduction of the Game Design course in 2005, the appointment of the first Game Design Professor in Germany and, shortly afterwards, the first female German Game Design Professor. Media Design is the course of studies with which MD.H started as the first course of studies and which has been continuously adapted to market requirements since its introduction. It is a classic design course for communication design with many digital application areas in interface design, branding, motion design and the design and implementation of interactive applications. During the course of study, students and graduates can develop their own personal specialisation in the broad design spectrum and expand their portfolio, not least due to the numerous project phases from the first to the last semester. Since then, they have become sought-after communication designers, especially in the digital environment in agencies, but also in and for industry, for example at BMW, Bosch Siemens Household Appliances, Audi or also in the insurance and financial sector, where they accompany design, innovation and communication processes. Game Design has become a renowned educational institution and one of the most popular courses of study at the MD.H Mediadesign University of Applied Sciences (UAS). This course of study has repeatedly resulted in award-winning (multiple young talent awards at the German Developer Award and German Computer Game Award) young teams and a large number of successful spin-offs. Chimera Entertainment http://www.chimera-entertainment.de/ and Mimimi Games https:// www.mimimi.games/ are just two of the many game studios founded by MD.H. graduates, which are now internationally renowned. A further milestone was the implementation of the Digital Film Design - VFX/Animation - course of studies, which was also repeatedly adapted to the requirements of the industry and offers graduates and students many international perspectives. The main focus of teaching is on VFX, 3D art and animation, visualizations and compositing, thus forming the cornerstones of modern film and video production. With their high degree of visualization quality, Digital Film Design graduates are also active in the field of VR and other forms of virtual worlds of experience, for example for industry, trade fairs and culture. The students and graduates of the interdisciplinary courses of study Game Design (which can be studied in the fields of Art and Programming) and Digital Film Design not only qualify themselves for the games or film industry with their future-oriented know-how, but have also become increasingly interesting for industry and research in recent years. For years, they have also been working on innovative VR/AR applications and UI/UX designs, including in the field of transformation of the automotive industry, medical research, prototyping or gamification projects, often with training and behavioral content. At MD.H a unique network of graduates, students, professors and career service has been established, which works closely with associations, politics and universities.

Innovative digital career opportunities - Seite 2 Prof. Christian Malterer, Rector of MD.H:
The central task of a digital design school is to convey digital competence and personal social power, which contributes to shaping change and creating something new through transformation. The world of work is changing massively in the course of the ever increasing speed of digital change. Our students are called upon not to passively document this change, as is so often the case, but to actively help shape it.
