• Revenues up by 34% to EUR 156.9 million (H1 2020: EUR 117.4 million)
• Operating EBITDA of EUR 32.5 million (H1 2020: EUR 19.8 million)
• New production line to provide additional capacity
• Positive outlook: noticeable increase in revenues and EBITDA for the full year 2021

Munich, September 28, 2021 - Homann Holzwerkstoffe GmbH, one of the leading European suppliers of thin, refined wooden fibreboards for the furniture, doors and coatings industries, increased its revenues from EUR 117.4 million in the first half of the previous year to EUR 156.9 million in the first six months of 2021. At EUR 32.5 million, operating EBITDA were also clearly up on the first half of 2020 (EUR 19.8 million). As a result, the EBITDA margin improved from 17.0% in the prior-year period to 20.9%. Consolidated net income rose significantly to EUR 12.9 million (H1 2020: EUR 5.3 million).

Equity increased to EUR 72.5 million in the reporting period (December 31, 2020: EUR 57.9 million). This sent the equity ratio rising to 21.1%, compared to 18.7% at the end of the financial year 2020.

"We are very satisfied with our business performance in the first half of 2021, especially against the background of the challenging situation caused by the pandemic," said Fritz Homann, Managing Director of Homann Holzwerkstoffe GmbH. "The sales markets that are relevant to us continue to show high demand for our HDF/MDF boards."

In order to meet the growing demand for HDF/MDF boards, the management decided to build up additional capacities at one of the Group's plants. The decision on where the already configured production line will be set up will be made in the next few weeks.

In view of the good performance in July and August and the continued high demand in the second half of 2021, management expects a noticeable increase in revenues and EBITDA for the full year 2021.
