SAP and CGM have signed a letter of intent regarding a planned cooperation in the areas of solution integration and go-to-market today, against the background of SAP's decision to offer a standardized platform based on the Fast Health Interoperability (FHIR) standard for connecting hospital information systems.
As part of the planned collaboration and in addition to CGM CLINICAL, CGM will also develop the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) to cover all administrative and clinical processes in hospitals in the future. RCM refers to the billing and financial process used by hospitals to track the different phases of patient care. SAP will contribute its expertise to the development of this new solution.
Together, the partners will ensure deep process integration of the RCM into the SAP ERP world (e.g. Finance, Accounting, HR) based on the FHIR standard. Both, a cloud and on-premise solution will be offered.
"I am very much looking forward to the collaboration with SAP - after all, two leading German software companies are finally coming together to powerfully advance the digitization so urgently needed in the healthcare sector with innovative solutions. With this partnership, we will offer a long-term end-to-end solution for our customers, both from a technological and process perspective" comments Hannes Reichl, Managing Director Inpatient and Social Care at CGM, on the planned collaboration.
