SOWITEC group expands activities in Germany: 18 MW Hohfleck wind park reaches next phase of construction preparation - start of construction planned for 2024
Sonnenbühl, 16 March 2023 – SOWITEC group (SOWITEC), one of the leading developers of renewable energy projects in the wind and solar sectors, is consistently pushing ahead with its activities in
Germany. Currently, construction preparation for the Hohfleck wind park in the home municipality of Sonnenbühl is underway. After the clearing was completed on schedule at the end of February,
the access road will soon be realized on the vacated areas. Construction of the wind park with a total capacity of 18 MW is scheduled to begin in 2024.
Five wind turbines of the type Vestas V126-3.6 MW with a hub height of 137 meters and a total height of 200 meters will be built. With above-average wind speed, large distances to surrounding
communities and minimal impact on nature and the environment, the location is ideally suited for the use of wind energy. The wind park will produce enough electricity to supply over 10,000
households. That is more than in the surrounding communities of Sonnenbühl, Engstingen and Lichtenstein combined.
Frank Hummel, CEO of the SOWITEC group: “The realization of the Hohfleck wind park is just the first step in our increased focus on the German market. We plan to significantly expand our pipeline
in Germany from the current 70 MW of wind power to 300 MW of wind power by 2028 and also secure solar projects with 200 MW. Our geographic focus is particularly on Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg,
where we have excellent networks and already know of promising locations.”
Primarily to finance wind and photovoltaic projects within Germany, SOWITEC is currently offering a new secured 8.00% Green Bond 2023/2028 (ISIN: DE000A30V6L2) for subscription. Interested
