MINNEAPOLIS, MN / ACCESSWIRE / September 12, 2024 / Advanced Manufacturing Minneapolis, the Midwest's largest end-to-end event for the engineering and manufacturing sectors, returns October 16-17 with a robust lineup of keynote speakers and industry leaders. Two newly announced keynote speakers will cover topics on efficiency through digitalization and sensors in aerospace missions, showcasing the broad scope of advanced manufacturing, adding further depth to the diverse range of topics and applications in the field.
With the manufacturing industry contributing over $57 billion annually to Minnesota's economy and employing over 300,000 workers, Advanced Manufacuring Minneapolis serves as a vital platform for the exchange of ideas, innovations and strategies that drive the field forward. The event brings together five expos, Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M), Automation Technology Expo (ATX), Design & Manufacturing (D&M), MinnPack and Plastec, to provide cutting edge insights.
Dr. Jonathan Arenberg, Chief Mission Architect for Science & Robotic Missions at Northrop Grumman Space, will present the keynote, "Sensors in Space: Learnings from Designing NASA's James Webb Telescope." With over 30 years of expertise leading major astronomical programs and development of optical, space and laser systems, Dr. Arenberg will share the significant role sensors played in developing the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), as well as stunning images captured by the telescope. The JWST was used by the University of Minnesota in 2023 in the discovery of a distant galaxy and the state continues to boast a rising involvement in aerospace research and manufacturing. Arenberg's keynote serves as a full-circle moment for the Minnesota aerospace community, recognizing the contributions this region has created and continues to lead for advanced engineering in space.
Rahul Garg, Vice President of Industrial Machinery at Siemens Digital Industries Software, will keynote, "Digitalization: The Key to Accelerating the Future of Manufacturing." Garg will explore how digitalization, driven by tools such as AI, XR and digital twins, is transforming organizations from product design through manufacturing and into service delivery. With 25 years of experience delivering software-based solutions for the global manufacturing industry, this presentation will emphasize the benefits of advancing the technological infrastructure.
