700  0 Kommentare Verizon Retains #1 Spot, CenturyLink Jumps to #2 in IHS Infonetics SIP Trunking Scorecard

CAMPBELL, CA--(Marketwired - August 26, 2015) - IHS today released excerpts from its 2015 IHS Infonetics SIP Trunking North American Service Provider Scorecard, which profiles, analyzes and ranks the 10 top Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking service providers in North America: AT&T, CenturyLink, Cox, Fusion, IntelePeer, Level 3, Sprint, Verizon, Windstream and XO.

"For the seventh straight year, Verizon leads our SIP trunking provider scorecard, followed by CenturyLink, AT&T and XO. All except CenturyLink have been near the top of the leaderboard for the past seven years and are mainstays in the SIP market, leading in service development and customer adoption," said Diane Myers, research director for VoIP, UC and IMS at IHS.

"CenturyLink had a big jump in this year's scorecard due to a strong and growing installed base and improved financials. XO continues to have the largest installed base of connectivity trunks. And Level 3 strengthened its position through its acquisition of TW Telecom," Myers said.

    MORE SIP TRUNKING SCORECARD HIGHLIGHTS

Much of the attention on business VoIP services is focused on the cloud, but SIP trunking is equally important for service providers as the next generation of voice connectivity.

The bulk of the SIP trunking installed base is concentrated with the large operators, because in a service market based on cost, scale is necessary for success.

While the installed base of SIP trunks is important to providers' overall leadership score in the scorecard, financial stability and market strategy also have a measurable impact on the standings.

Since features aren't a critical component of SIP trunking, providers differentiate their offerings based on security, interoperability, pricing and reliability.

Scores and data are displayed in charts and tables in the report, accompanied by service provider profiles describing their offerings and analysis of the individual scores.
