Die Deutsche Bank könnte Aufschluss über die finanzielle Lage des US-Präsidenten geben. Doch dessen Anwälte wollen die Herausgabe der Dokumente verhindern.
New York Anwälte von Donald Trump wollen verhindern, dass die Deutsche Bank Unterlagen über die Finanzlage des US-Präsidenten an den Kongress aushändigen muss. Dies beantragten sie am Freitag vor dem zuständigen Berufungsgericht in New York.
Dies betreffe neben Dokumenten der Deutschen Bank auch solche von Capital One Financial. Im Frühjahr hatte ein Richter entschieden, dass die Deutsche Bank und das US-Institut zur Herausgabe der Finanzunterlagen verpflichtet sind. Die Deutsche Bank hatte angekündigt, dem Urteil Folge zu leisten.
Derzeit werden die Finanzen von Trump vom US-Kongress und den Behörden des Bundesstaates New York durchleuchtet. Die Deutsche Bank hatte dem ehemaligen Immobilienunternehmer vor seiner Präsidentschaft hohe Kredite gewährt.
Viele andere Banken hatten das nicht mehr getan. Dokumenten zufolge schuldet Trump der Deutschen Bank Trust Company Americas mindestens 130 Millionen Dollar im Zusammenhang mit Immobilienprojekten. ...

Der britische Premierminister Boris Johnson will der EU im Falle eines No-Deal-Brexits 30 Milliarden Pfund vorenthalten. Das geht aus einem Bericht von "Sky News" hervor. Johnson plane demnach, die von seiner Vorgängerin Theresa May vereinbarte Brexit-Schlussrechnung für nichtig zu erklären.
Großbritanniens Premierminister Boris Johnson will einem Medienbericht zufolge im Falle eines Brexits ohne Abkommen noch ausstehende Zahlungen an die EU kürzen.
Sollte es zu einem sogenannten No-Deal-Brexit kommen, könnte Großbritannien nur neun statt der geplanten 39 Milliarden Pfund zahlen, berichtete der Nachrichtensender "Sky News".
Die unter seiner Vorgängerin Theresa May vereinbarte Brexit-Schlussrechnung verliere im Falle eines fehlenden Abkommens an Gültigkeit. Eine Bestätigung für den Bericht gab es zunächst nicht.
